We are less than 5 miles away from Chateau Morrisette, several other wineries, two golf courses, Mabry Mill and Lovers Leap...there is always plenty to do.brbrWhen you walk in the door, expect a little surprise. This 1920's rustic cabin isn't just comfortable, clean and cozy with all the amenities of home, it's classic! From the furniture to the linens, you'll find everything fresh! Less than a minute from the Blue Ridge Parkway, our cabin is perfect for your stay in the mountains. Some of our favorite characteristics of the cabin are the creaky wood floors, original lead glass windows, large stone fireplace and wrap around porch with a picture perfect view of the historic Cockram Mill pond, where the Dan River Queen once circled. The floors and wood walls are original to our newly furnished home with new, fluffy towels and 100% cotton linens. The cabin has new appliances and dishes with a vintage feel and the kitchen is fully stocked with service for eight. The dining room table seats six to eight comfortably. You’ll find fresh milk, OJ and assorted cereal ready for you when you arrive. And, as with all our Buffalo Mountain Getaway properties, our signature Keurig Brew Station will be stocked with coffee, cocoa and tea. brbrAlthough we prefer relaxing on the porch, hiking the walking trails or fishing in the pond, the high speed internet does allow for easy working/remote learning. 42” smart tv in living room armoire. Landline also present if needed. brbrThe deck covers three sides of the house with only one step up access to the main level. Since we are pet friendly, we also have a small fenced area for them to utilize. brbrHead upstairs to find the sleeping quarters. You'll pass through the small bunk room with two bunks to reach the master bedroom. The romantic master bedroom includes a queen size bed, cellphone charger, small television with Netflix and Prime Video and a great view. The bathroom is on the main level with a tub/shower and laundry for your convenience.brbrPlease note: due to its age, the home is not wheelchair accessible. The stairs are narrow. My 6’2” husband needs to duck at the top. At 5’2”, I don’t.brbrOur pond is fully exposed, so smaller children may not be safe. Please keep this in mind. Want to get away from the world Our Touche' Too Cabin is just the place! Nestled just off the Blue Ridge Parkway in Meadows of Dan, the Touche' Too is a lovely cabin with all the amenities of home. The name Touche' Too was the owner's silly name for the Tool Shed. Originally, there was only a little tool shed that was converted into a cabin. That cabin, while still there, is mainly used by the owners. The Touche' Too was the second cabin built on the property. Come check it out!brbrMore than 30 acres for you to roam and hike. Bring your pet as well. We have have a gate on the deck so they can stay there should you step out for a bit. brbrFloyd, VA and Mt. Airy, NC are less than 30 miles away.brbrIt's located in the trees on top of a mountain, so the heat is never too hot, but we do have mini-split AC for your convenience. We don't have a landline or WiFi, but Verizon service is excellent. brbrAnd lastly, the fireplace and pellet stove are NOT for guest use. Unfortunately, we had to stop allowing guests using the fireplace due to ash disposal. It just wasn't safe. A laundromat is attached to the Meadows of Dan Food Market if you need to do any wash during your stay.brbrThe Blue Ridge Parkway runs through town and will take you to Mabry Mill just a few minutes up the road. The larger town of Floyd is a 30 minute drive north and has several restaurants and frequent live music including the famous Friday Night Jamboree at the Floyd Country Store. A 25 minute drive south leads you to the charming town of Stuart, VA with numerous restaurants, shops, and activities.brbrDespite a convenient location, there is very little light pollution making for amazing stargazing on clear nights. It's not unusual to see the Milky Way or shooting stars.brbrThe Cherry Creek Glamper, while convenient to lots of activities, is set in a rural area. This provides a chance to get away from it all. It also means that homes in the area are given quite different levels of care. The cabin has 2 bedrooms (one ground floor, one loft), a fully-equipped kitchen, dining area, full bathroom with shower, washer and dryer.brbrThe cabin is a great location for hikers, fishermen (less than 1/2 mile walk to the stocked Dan River), golfers (Amongst the great nearby courses, The Highland at Primland ranks among the world's best by many notable golf publications), writers or artists seeking a creative retreat, and families or friends just looking for a base to explore the area. The lake cabin has 2 bedrooms - one with a new California King bed that can separate into 2 long twin beds, and a queen bed in the second bedroom. There is also a new daybed in the living area for a 5th individual. White House has 4 upstairs bedrooms:2 Master suite on 2nd floor with private bath and balcony, queen bed, ceiling fan and an adjoining room with 2 single beds; Front master suite: the large front quilt room which has a new king bed and a single bed in one bedroom, with an adjoining bedroom across the hall with a double and single bed. These two bedrooms share an updated bathroom with shower/tub located in hallway. Each of these 2BR suites has access to common areas of kitchen, dining, and living room downstairs in farmhouse. Common side porch for sitting and quiet reading or playing lawn sports is in the side yard. Ceiling fans in every bedroom accompany the central air conditioning in farmhouse. Lake area is below the lake cabin, with fixed and floating dock, paddleboat, kayak, canoe, john boat, and multiple floats and water toys.brFishing is permitted, bringing your own rods recommended, and only keep the really big fish!
