Love Shack Falls runs best after a good rain. A short steep trail begins at mi 2.4 SE. The upstream dipping hole is located along the Upper Creek Trail behind the Retreat (mi 0.2 S) and the downstream dipping hole is a short walk from the bicyclist parking lot (mi 0.1 S). Several sparse rocky beaches for sunning and catching crawfish, small fish, and other creek critter lie along the creek. Poisonous critters (water moccassins, cottonmouths, bees and wasps) and obnoxious plants (poison ivy, thorny, greenbriars) are present so do take necessary percautions. Thin rocky beaches are McPherson Beach (mi 1.9 N), Flatrock Beach (mi 2.0 N), Hemp Beach (mi 2.4 N), and LeeAnnes Beach (mi 3.0). Walking along the creek is a very special experience for a couple or the entire family. While its best to have four wheel drive, experience drivers can make it with two. The top floor has two bedrooms each with a queen bed, and a loft with two single beds. One full bathroom serves these 3 sleeping areas. The bottom floor has a bunk bed for two, a single bed, and a queen bed served by a full bathroom on the main floor above. The main floor living room is amazing. An adjacent office has a door that goes out to the deck and outside table. The fireplace is non-working. Sit in the deck and look out on the forest or take a snooze. brbrThe Grand Apartment takes up the second portion of the structure and is completely set off from the 3+ bedroom apartment. They have first dibs on the hot tub. You may use it ($50 set up fee) if no one is renting the Grand.

Other paths take you past abandoned stills from Prohibition times. Historic Franklin and Leipers Fork are 7 miles away. Loveless Cafe is 8 miles away. Nashville is 19 miles and Downtown is 23 miles (using Hwy 100).brbrGetting Around:brYou will need a car.brbrOther Things to Note:brBicycles and kayaks/canoes are available from the Center for Sustainable Stewardship a short walk away. There are two other cabins under the same roof, each with private entrances, and private porches. Because these lodgings are in a forest, we consider them to be cabins. They have been designed to be private and the only time you will encounter others is on the incoming driveway area.
