T x 2, brCrofter: Q plus loft w/T x 2brIf you are a multi-family group, the crofter (with a Queen plus a loft with two Twins) is great for a family with two kids that wants to both be with the group but also some privacy - it has a full bath, dorm fridge, microwave & coffee pot (ladder access loft in crofter, so loft is not for the very little ones). brbrWe have a 2nd Crofter with a separate lock out as an optional add-on for larger groups. With this add-on it is 6.5 bedrooms, sleeps 14 in beds. Ask for details!brbrFor those who enjoy a meal at home, there is plenty of seating for all and our galley-style kitchen is fully appointed with everything you'll need to make a memorable meal, complete with an unforgetable view. brbrHop on one of our two new Onward Club Car golf carts, both with high speed motors. (They will go 25+ MPH so please do not exceed the 18MPH BHI speed limit!) We spend time on the beach Every Single Day on BHI, and enjoy the open air golf cart ride there and back immensely BUT we also have the best of both worlds because we come home to the amazing and ever changing tapestry - that awesome Creek View. We think of it as an incredible live painting that changes every day. brbrWe enjoy watching Egrets, Ibis and Osprey from inside the house or while sitting in the expansive screened porch. We watch our kids fish, crab, cast net, kayak and swim right out front daily. And what a treat to watch our 10 year old son dash straight out to the dock every morning for an hour or more barely remembering the existence of TV or video games. brbrWe can walk left on the boardwalk out front and we are at the boat launch in about 2 minutes. Alternately we go the other way on the boardwalk with our first cup of coffee in hand every morning for an amazing and inspiring 10 minute creek view board-'walk'. brbrAnd, with easy access to the floating dock you can bring or rent your boat! Our luxurious new bedding is sure to please everyone. There are two master bedrooms, all four bedrooms have king beds with a twin in the upstairs master. Each bedroom has new 32' flat screen TVs.brbrPlease remember to make reservations with the Bald Head Island Ferry to arrive and depart. Your ferry ticket also provides you with tram service but is not automatically added to tickets. Tram reservations require a distinct booking from the ferry to 21 Silversides Trail. Arrival may not be before 4 PM and Departure must be by 10 AM on the day of Departure.brbrGuests wishing optional Temporary Guest Memberships at The Bald Head Island Club and or The Shoals Club should contact them immediately upon booking our home. The guest room with a queen bed shares a bathroom off the hallway with the kids' bedroom, which has two twin beds (or a pullout queen sofa bed if your guests prefer to sleep on that). The second floor also has a separate office, with a great view of Old Baldy. On the first floor, enjoy an open floor plan with two sitting areas, a dining area, seating at the kitchen bar, and sliding glass doors that open onto the deck. The living area is filled with books and a wide assortment of games and puzzles for your family and friends to enjoy. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you will need for your week at Marsh Mellow. The first floor also has a full laundry room and a half bath.brbrIn addition to the main house, the crofter over the garage is newly finished, with a queen bed, shower, separate toilet, small kitchenette, and views that make you feel like you're floating above the creek. If you prefer an outdoor shower, that's available too, located underneath the crofter in the yard. In the garage, you'll find two 4-passenger golf carts, along with beach chairs, sand toys, boogie boards, and three bicycles, allowing you to enjoy outdoor life on the island. You can easily rent additional bicycles or equipment for water sports on the creek at the nearby Riverside Adventure Company. brbrSpeaking of the outdoors, Marsh Mellow has a lovely front porch that is typically shaded and features a bench, two chairs and a hammock (our kids love the hammock). The yard is fenced in, and the large deck off the side of the house is what makes the outdoor area truly special. With separate sitting and dining areas (including a new dining table and chairs not featured in the photos), along with an outdoor grill, it is the perfect spot to enjoy time with family and friends, taking in the beauty all around you. If you sit on Marsh Mellow's deck during the day, you'll see ibis, herons, pelicans and sometimes even dolphins frolic in the marsh. Guests see expansive natural views like one would see visiting a ranch out west, except it's at the Beach! brbrWatch the sunrise over East Beach, enjoy a glass of wine while the sun sets over Cape Creek, or if one is so bold, take the private nature trail and see the Bald Head I grew up with in the 70's: beautiful, wild, an adventure.brbrThe beach experience at East Wind is unmatched. With private beach access you're just steps away from the best beach on Bald Head, East Beach. The prevailing currents on East Beach keep the muddy Cape Fear water to the south, making the waters on the beach a beautiful emerald color on most days. Also, the prevailing southwesterly wind during the summer make for beautiful wave action. The wind blows against the waves holding the crest longer. Since East Wind is at the end of East Beach drive, our property provides the most private beach experience on Bald Head Island. It's amazing.brbrIf one likes history, you will feel right at home at East Wind. Our cottage is decorated with period antiques and has an extensive seashell collection. A cannon from 1525 guards the driveway (earliest known example of a bronze cast cannon recovered from a new world wreck. Seen in picture below). Four bedrooms, each with a private bathroom, are decorated in soft pastel colors. Three bedrooms have a queen bed. One bedroom has a double bed. Each bedroom occupies a corner of the house and provides both ocean and marsh views! The middle of the house has an open floor plan with a kitchen overlooking Cape Creek, a dining room in the center of the house, and living area with a large flat screen TV overlooks East Beach. brbrA bonus downstairs playroom makes for a great place to land in between trips to East Beach. The downstairs area has a nice living area, large flat screen TV, bathroom, and foosball table. This room was designed to have fun in! (Bonus playroom is connected to the house by outside stairs so it is suitable for older children or supervised younger children.)brbrEast Wind has three golf carts, two 4 passenger golf carts, and one two passenger golf cart 'truck' great for grocery store runs, four bikes, 6 beach chairs, paper products, linens, wine / drink refrigerator etc. Temporary membership in the Shoals Club or BHI club is available for separate purchase by guest.brbrEast Wind is a cottage and is perfect for small parties of 6 or less.
