This family lakefront property has been in the Stanton family for four generations. The original log cabin was replaced in the early 1980s by an architect designed spacious house that can comfortably hold a crowd or be intimate enough for a small group. It is situated on a large lakefront lot on the eastern shore of North Lake Leelanau with private woods to the south and deck overlooking the lake. The sunsets are breathtaking. This house provides easy access to the water with a long pier and unique recreational dock with boat lift. Boat launch is just 1/2 a mile down the road from the house. We also enjoy the only private marina on the lake so guests can easily dock their boats, ski-dos or a pontoon boat (available for rental in Lake Leelanau). The lakefront area is safe and easy for swimming and the water is crystal clear. There is no sandy beach at our site, but Nedow's Beach is reachable by boat right across the lake. Sunny rear patio is great for windy days and is off the kitchen for easy outdoor cooking. The spacious sitting area is perfect for gathering to enjoy morning coffee. The large kitchen with coffee bar is stocked with all the amenities and utensils to prepare homemade meals. Just 2.5 miles from Leland and in the heart of Leelanau County, this cottage is the perfect jumping off point for your vacation up north.brbrSmart Lock with code will be used for entry. The property lies next to a subdivision with a few neighboring homes visible, however they are not overly close by. brbrWith that in mind, we ask guests to be mindful of the community and keep noise levels to a respectable level while also maintaining quiet hours from 11PM to 8 AM daily.brbrTo get around you`ll need the use of a vehicle, as the cottage is centrally located in northern Leelanau County but isn`t walking distance to any of the attractions. brbrAdditionally, guests should be aware that the driveway is long and quite steep, although it is paved and maintained throughout the year.brbrThe driveway is steep, take care when coming and going.brbrThe outdoor fire pit is a propane operated unit, rather than a wood fired one. Set back from M-22, this house is minutes from Fishtown, Leland, close to many of wineries and a short drive to Sleeping Bear Dunes. This home has a private heated outdoor pool with kiddie pool area on the east side of the house protected from the wind off the lake. There is a hot tub on the patio overlooking the lake and outdoor showers just off the beach. Resort style steam room, sauna and exercise room as well as changing rooms in the basement with walk out access to the beach.
