Round Lake and Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore adjoin the property to the north and a creek meanders through. Deer, fox, sandhill cranes, (green herons this year!) and bald eagles are frequent visitors. This is a bird lovers paradise.brbrThe Lodge is clean and spacious. There is plenty of room to find private spaces even if you are with a larger group. The fully furnished five bedroom/three bath home sleeps 2 - 12. The two story great room features a field stone wall with a gas fireplace. The loft has 2 bedrooms each with a private deck and spectacular views. Lodge rooms are appointed with artwork from local artists, and the home has many green features. We are excited to be adding solar panels are being added this year!brbrA screen 'sleeping' porch with a full size futon couch is attached to one of the main floor bedrooms. The porch over looks Round Lake. The porch can be a quiet place to escape with a book, away from the common areas. Also a real treat for sleeping, the porch offers the comforts of home and the sights, sounds & smells of sleeping outdoors. brbrThe Lodge works well for multiple families & groups. It can also provide a tranquil retreat space for smaller gatherings. It is well suited for reunions of family and friends, yoga retreats, spa weekends, long weekends with the guys or gals, as well as a base location for wedding parties. brbrThe Lodge is located seven miles from the MDNR boat launch on the south side of Crystal Lake. The sandy private beach on Crystal Lake offers a safe, secluded area perfect for swimming, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, water skiing, and sailing. If you are bringing or renting a boat, please provide your own mooring. Beach amenities include a dock and a fire pit at the water's edge. brbrAnd while we hope for good weather during your stay, the house is equipped with a large generator that turns on automatically in the event of a power outage.brbrThe surrounding area has much to offer for outdoor recreation and site seeing. Frankfort is a deep water port on Lake Michigan with public boat access. There are many good charter captains in the area for salmon and trout fishing on the big lake. There are seven outstanding golf courses within 20 minutes. Located 2 miles from Crystal Downs Country Club and 24 miles from Arcadia Bluffs, the Lodge is a perfect location for golf weekends. brbrFresh, locally grown products are readily available at farmer's markets & farm stands. A large non-smoking deck, shaded by two walnut trees, connect the outside to inside living space with abundant comfortable furniture for multiple relaxation poses. Ideal for a couple with two children and Grandparents, the house has magnificent lake views from the air-conditioned King and Queen bedrooms. A pair of twin beds in the cedar-paneled twin beds room gives the younger ones their space. A reading nook is for anyone who needs away time from the family. Give yourself a time-out Mom! The water and beach are a few feet from the deck accessed down four stone steps from a very large lawn area. Swing away on our grownup/child swing set, or watch the water or supervise swimmers from the commanding set of super-nice Adirondack chairs. The garage fits a small car and has a level 2 electric car charger which you can use no-charge! The driveway allows one other car to be parked off street. brbrThis is a non-smoker, non-smoking, no-pets allowed property because our family members have life threatening allergies to those irritants. There is no smoking allowed anywhere in the house or on the premises. We really mean this! We respect your right to vape or smoke but you can't do it at our cottage or on our property.brbrWe are very close friends with the neighbors and so this is a no parties allowed house. Quiet time is from 9 PM to 8 AM and is strictly enforced. brbrThe ideal rental period for us due to our cleaning crew constraints is for you to check in on a Sunday, and check out Saturday. White-tail deer, fox and occasional otters roam the lakeside and Crystal Highlands during these quieter months. Frogs and turtles can be found in the streams and rills that feed into the lake.brbrThe forests and hills surrounding Crystal Lake and the nearby Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore are considered a birding hotspot by Bird Watchers Digest. Pileated and other woodpeckers, nuthatches, Blue Jays and Northern Cardinals occupy the area year-round. Bald Eagles regularly soar and hunt over the lake and perch in forest snags behind the house. brbrSpring migration starts ramping up in April, with loons often stopping over on Crystal Lake. Many sparrows, kinglets, gnatcatchers, and warblers typically arrive mid-month. In the latter part of the month, spring raptor migration reaches its peak. It also has access to the washer and dryer. It has direct beach access to the lake just steps away from the walkout doors. This home is a Haven for rest and relaxation. brbrThis home is newly built so All guests must be non smokers and non vapers please! We are sorry but we do not make any exceptions on this as all our guests enjoy the benefits of a smoker less place. brbrThis unit is in the lower walkout portion of the home pictured. It is totally separate and has its own living quarters. The owners will be in the upper part of the home and sharing the beautiful sandy beach. Comfortable, one of a kind, hand-built log cabin on 10 acres in the North Woods. Amenities include wrap around deck, electricity, hot water, kitchenette with cooking, refrigerator/freezer, private outdoor hot water shower, heater and Wi-Fi.. We rent a clean, private and accessible porta-pottie. There is NO indoor bathroom. The cabin is part of our family homestead, there are other occupied dwellings on the property - all have space and privacy. The cabin is directly behind the main house. brClose to Lake Michigan, Crystal Lake, the Platte and Betsie Rivers, Crystal Mountain, the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, Empire, Frankfort and Traverse City. Not kid friendly or handicapped accessible.
