I fell in love with this home as soon as I entered it. It was built in 1890 and the history spoke to me. We have completely renovated this home the winter of 2020. We took our home all the way down to the studs. We have all new wiring, heating, plumbing and we are especially excited about our brand new kitchen and bathrooms. I wanted to bring alive its history as well as its great location. brbrI can't wait to have my coffee on our private beach in the morning. In the afternoon walk to the coffee house, park, library, shops, restaurants, or brewery and ride the bike trail. All right outside our door or a short walk. brbrOur home has a screened in wrap around porch with the view of Crystal Lake. It is so inviting, I had to be here. I love to watch the rainstorms from the porch, sip my morning coffee on one of the comfy chairs or have a cup of tea and talk to a friend. Maybe you would like to enjoy and evening glass of wine from the comfy rocking chair and watch the sun set or just hold your loved ones hand. brbrThere is lots of room for the family with its 3 bedrooms including a huge bunk room that has slept 8 plus. I can see childhood cousins becoming best friends, and making great lifetime memories playing in there while the parents are playing cards at the large kitchen table late into the evenings. brbr There are two bathrooms . We have also included makeup areas in each room to help cut the bathroom time for everyone as this house can sleep up to 12 (however we are listing it for 8 incase someone doesn't want to share one of the 4 double sized beds). Each of the bedrooms have a beautiful view of the lake as well. brbrYou could not ask for a better location. Our home has a large grassy private beach on the South side of Crystal Lake. This is were a lot of people moor their boats as it gets the least amount of summer winds. br brThis home is on the Betsie Valley Bike Trail where you can ride all the way to Thompsonville or all the way into Frankfort and have a nice lunch and/or catch an art fair. We are also about a block to the Beulah Park with its, tennis court, pickle ball court, free concerts on summer Thursday nights, FOURTH OF JULY FIREWORKS AND FESTIVITIES, art shows, Fall Festivals, restaurants, brewery, coffee house, and unique shops. The fireworks are easily seen right from our beach. brbrThis home has so much to offer. It has a large private Crystal Lake Beach, Two parking spaces in front of the garage, easy walk to town, access to the bike trail, plenty of grass and space for the kids to play outside. The 4th of July fireworks are going to be perfect from this location. It sits on a little 25mph road that I have actually seen children play their summer soccer game in the middle of - with the big net goals and everything. The beach is on the other side of the road, however it isn't traveled very much, mostly just the people to live on it.

Our property is located on crystal-clear Crystal Lake, known as one of the ten most beautiful inland lakes in the world. Our home is quaint and inspiring. Outside the door, and just across a lightly used one lane road, is 60 feet of frontage on the lake. brbrIn regard to the one lane road: It is a public street, but is used primarily by the owners and renters on the south side of Crystal Lake. Most of the traffic you will experience will be bikers, joggers, and walkers. Yes, for the safety of all staying at the cottage, you do have to be aware of the occasional cars that slowly drive by, but for the most part the car traffic is limited to the people living in the cottages over the summer.brbrWe have sand for the kids to play in, and a nice dock to swim, lounge, or watch the sunsets from each night. The lake is nine miles in length and up to two miles in width. It is great for fishing and all water sports. We even have a mooring for your boat. There is a nice fire pit for making s'mores or to sit around in the evening. A 'rail-to-trail' is available just outside the front door that gives the outdoor enthusiasts the opportunity to walk, jog, or bike upon. The full length of the trail is about 24 miles.brbrWe are only one mile from the small town of Beulah, Michigan. It has nice shops for the shoppers. It is a small town that takes you back to living in the late 50's and 60's, minus all the typical franchises that often decorate most other cities. There is even a neat drive-in theater (Cherry Bowl) just down M-31 about three miles from Beulah. It has double features each evening. Everybody just loves it. It was built in 1953 and still has that 50's environment (Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, James Dean etc.).brbrThe beautiful city of Frankfort, Michigan is only five miles West of our cottage. It is a quaint picturesque port city with great dining, shopping, ICE CREAM, and Lake Michigan Beaches.brbrThe famous Sleeping Bear Dunes are less than an hour north of us. In fact, you will be with an hour's reach of many Northern Michigan tourist sights and other activities for small day trips if that interests you.brbrI know that pets are important to the family. Snowmobiling is also popular and there are snowmobiling trails nearby in the Thompsonville area.
