With a little more waterfront this would be an island - unmatched privacy

Woodstock, Maine, United States

Welcome to the Loon Lodge, available for Summer time rentals - end of June through August. Our home is located on a private peninsula that juts into Concord Pond, offering over 750 feet of waterfront. Find yourself waking to a 270-degree view of this peaceful body of water in the cradle of Woodstock’s beautiful mountains. brbrPanoramic windows ensure that even when you are inside you will be able to enjoy the tranquility of this setting. Come enjoy our propane grill, picnic tables, a natural jetty, and a fire pit that rests on a rock outcropping next to the water. In 2023 we installed a wrap-around, all-weather (covered) porch on the pond side of home - no more worries about rain; you can be outside any time, which visitors love.brbrOur home embodies the spirit of the eco-friendly area and is off the grid, using all-solar electrical energy with a back-up generator and propane for stove and BBQ. The kitchen and bathrooms are refreshingly modern with a large shower and washing machine and dryer. We ask that you try to limit your use with the laundry machine in honor of our eco-friendly theme and our septic system. brbrThis home provides accommodations for 9 people and has one and a half bathrooms. A second-floor master bedroom contains a queen bed and adjacent, large bedroom contains 3 singles and a bunk bed. A double bed in the downstairs den can comfortably sleep an additional 2 people. And, something we learned from some of our guests: Got kids Got good friends who also have kids 2 yeses - consider going in on a rental with your friends. 2 adult rooms for the parents and the large, upstairs bunk room for the kids works very well.brbrNature lovers: Among some of the pond's common fauna, we have a mating pair of loons that live and thrive here in the clean ecosystem. It is not uncommon to kayak through the lake and have a loon emerge from the depth right next to your boat, and you will likely get to watch the loons raise their baby if past years are any judge. The loon’s nest tends to move around the pond, is protected, and should not be disturbed. Whether relaxing by the fire or in a kayak at sunrise or sunset, the eerie call of the loon will surely overwhelm. Bald eagles also call on this pond home and transient moose have been seen feeding in the shallow areas.brbrAdventure lovers: We have kayaks and canoes for exploring the pond and the island (please contribute to keeping the island clean and undisturbed to insure that the owner continues to allow public access). We are surrounded by great hiking trails such as those found on Bald and Speckle Mountains (trail-head only 10 minutes away). You are only a 40-minute drive to Sunday River, an extremely popular ski mountain for New Englanders throughout the winter but in the summer offering adrenaline-inducing as well as leisure activities. Around Sunday River you will find over 20 miles of mountain-biking terrain; zip-lining; golf; a 18-hole disc golf course; and, of course, hiking. For a more leisurely day, you can take the gondola up the mountain and enjoy a picnic with a vista or visit their top ski lodge for lunch and a beverage. Treehouse With Hot Tub Close to Sunday River!

Woodstock, Maine, United States

This authentic, luxury treehouse was designed by B'Fer Roth, DIY Network TV host of The Treehouse Guys and built by the Treehouse Guys.brNestled in the woods on a quiet, private rd with no neighbors in sight, the treehouse is just 15 minutes to Sunday River Ski Resort, 5 minutes to Mt. Abram and 10 minutes to downtown Bethel. The treehouse sits 500' from North Pond and is abutted by 626 acres of Bucks Ledge Community Forest (7 miles of hiking/snowshoeing trails accessible from the treehouse).brbrThe Ski Haus Treehouse is a truly magical experience that you will never forget. This fully insulated, four season treehouse is the perfect setting for a romantic getaway/honeymoon, family vacation, or fun weekend away. It will sleep four adults but it is small (300 sq ft) which may be snug for four adults. It is best suited for couples or couples with (up to) 2 children. It is equipped with a heat pump which provides heat in the cooler months and AC in the warmer months. brbrYou will enter the treehouse with a set of 6 steps built into a boulder. As you enter the lower deck you will be in awe as you pass by a ski bar and cedar hot tub. The perfect apres ski spot! You will then go up the custom spiral staircase (12 stairs) to the front deck. Here you will see two trees growing up through the deck. These are two of the four trees supporting the house! You will enter the house to find a beautiful well stocked kitchen with everything you need to cook a fun dinner (pots, pans, olive oil, spices). To the left you will find a full bathroom (yes, there is full plumbing in the treehouse!) with a delightful rain shower head. Tucked away in a cozy nook you will find two very comfortable swivel chairs, a record player with classic records, a ukulele and a basket full of games with a game table (behind the ships ladder). If you feel like getting away to read a book or relax, there is a loft with a couch! The couch is very comfortable and can be made into two twin beds or one queen bed. All linens are provided. This loft is fairly small but can sleep two adults. The ladder to get to this loft is flush to the wall and may be difficult for some to climb. On the opposite wall you will find a large ships ladder leading to the master loft. This loft sits over 30' high in a canopy of Eastern Hemlock trees. This is a very stable ladder that is relatively easy to carry things up and down from. In the master loft, you will find a very comfortable queen bed with four pillows to choose from (memory foam and firm) and luxury sheets. You will be surrounded by 8 windows which are perfect for watching the snow fall or the autumn leaves drop from the trees. There are baskets under the bed for clothes storage and hooks on the wall. The bedrooms are not closed off from one another. The rear deck is the largest of the three decks boasting a hammock (which is perfect for watching the sun go down) and a bistro table for 2 for an evening glass of wine or meal. You will also find a tree going through this deck!brbrBuilding the Ski Haus treehouse has been a labor of love. It was designed to be a special place to bring joy to others and to allow space to reconnect. I hope that you enjoy this once in a lifetime experience in the trees!

The yurt features full kitchen to include a small refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, small 20 cook stove/oven, double cast iron sink, drip coffee pot, tea kettle, microwave, toaster/air fry oven, dishware/glassware for 2-4 people, silverware and cooking utensils, dish towels, dish soap, olive oil, vinegar, cooking spices, cookie sheets, muffin and loaf pans. The bathroom has a 48 stand up shower with rain shower head and is stocked with towels, hand soap, bar soap, hair dryer, starter toilet paper and paper towels for your stay. The living space has a sofa and two chairs perfect to sit and read a book by the fire, play some games or settle down and watch a movie on the 43 smart Roku tv. The yurt is heated with a comfortbuilt pellet stove which is easy to use and can be left unattended for a day out to come back to a nice warm space. We also have a rinnai propane heater for supplemental heat on really cold nights as well as a back up. We have a Mini split pump which also provides air conditioning to keep you cool and comfortable in the warmer months.brbrLocationbrThe location is perfect for anyone looking for adventure! We are 13 mins to Mt Abram and 27 mins to Sunday River Ski resort! There are many lakes and ponds nearby that are perfect if you are looking to go fishing, kayaking, or looking for a place to cool off in the summer. We are close to many hiking and ATV/snowmobile trails. The town of Bethel is a 18-min drive and has some great restaurants, activities as well as a small grocery store. See our guidebook for more places to see in the area!brOther things to notebrBirdsong yurt may look like a beautiful house, but it is good to keep in mind that it is still a glorified tent. It is insulated and warm in the winter with proper heating but on really cold below zero nights it may struggle to stay above 65 degrees, but sleeping is comfortable with an extra blanket. During the day with the sun, it is easier to keep temps comfortable. Another thing to keep in mind is that being a tent you may also find small bugs or spiders in the summer months, but we will do our best to control any pest with monthly pest control. One of the best things about staying in a yurt is the closeness to nature, hearing the bird songs, listening to the wind and rain. While some will find these sounds relaxing others may find the sound of the wind unsettling. Rest assured that the yurt is modified with a full snow and wind load package and just by the shape of the yurt it is designed to handle wind very well and is solid! Please note the yurt has a drilled well and septic system and nothing other than toilet paper should be flushed down the toilet! (No Feminine products are to be flushed!). We do allow up to two dogs at the yurt with prior approval. Dogs are not to be left unattended on the property or inside the yurt for any reason and you must clean up after your dogs. There is a pet fee of $35 per dog per stay. We do not allow cats or any other pets. Dogs left unattended, or bark excessively will be asked to leave. We do not allow smoking of any kind inside the yurt we will allow smoking outside of the yurt at least 10 feet away. Yurt has a max occupancy of 4 adults or two adults and two children. No parties or gatherings permitted. brWe do have one security camera located outside the yurt on a utility pole facing the driveway only. It is there for the security of our property and the safety of our guests. Your privacy is very important to us and the camera is not invasive in any way and no other cameras are on the property. Please note that the pet fee and the cleaning fee shows up as (Host Fee) when booking and is not a additional host administrative fee.

Woodstock, Maine, United States

Large comfortable log house across a street from great swimming, kayaking, canoeing, and fishing. Only 5 minutes from Mt Abram ski area and 20 minutes from Sunday River. Connect into snowmobile trails without driving. This house was purchased decades ago as a year-round vacation place for our extended family. Therefore it has all the conveniences we like to have – clothes washer & dryer, hair dryer, gas grill, board games, wooden jigsaw puzzles, good kitchen cookware, bike pump, cornhole, etc., even backup hats and mittens for winter.brbrThe top floor has a queen bedroom, a bedroom with two twin beds (that can be pushed together), and a large double-sink bathroom with tub shower, as well as an open loft area (on the same level -- not up a ladder) for sitting or additional sleeping. The main floor has a queen bedroom and full bathroom with a stall shower, and a large open-floor area with kitchen, dining room table, and living room with a wood fireplace. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a massive peninsula counter top that is great for leaving your munchies on while still having space to prepare meals and to eat them at the bar stools on the other side of the peninsula or at the dining room table or out on the deck. The walk-out basement is fully finished and has 5 twin beds -- great for the kids to have a slumber party while the parents are in the bedrooms upstairs. The huge deck with propane grill just outside the kitchen sliding door is great for eating and relaxing in summer and fall. Kids will have fun in the yard playing frisbee, croquet, cornhole, whiffleball, and other games that we store in the garage. We have a large aluminum canoe, 4 kayaks, and all the necessary paddles and life preservers. Just across the street is our swimming area, where you can walk in on sand or safely dive off the end of our dock. We have various noodles and personable inflatable rafts for playing with in the lake.brbrOther things to notebrLiability Waiver:brYou understand that swimming, hiking and the use of kayaks and canoe is at your own risk and that special risks may be involved with those activities.
