BAY VIEW is a beautiful waterfront cabin just feet from the shore of Casco Bay's Merriconeag Sound, which separates the two sides of Harpswell. Smell the salt air, listen to the sounds of waves lap the shoreline and watch the eagles, sea gulls and local Lobstermen haul their traps. You may even see seals at play in the waters. Whether at sunrise or the end of the day, there is something for your senses to take in as you relax by the shoreline or on the deck enjoying the coast of Maine. brbrBay-View accommodates six guests with a bedroom downstairs (queen size bed) and an upstairs open loft with two beds, both queen size. The beds, bed linens, towels, all kitchen utensils and Appliances (minus refrigerator), were brand new in 2022. Bed linens and towels are provided.brbrPrepare your own meal in the kitchen, on the outdoor grill or get an evening take-out meal at many of Harpswell's wonderful restaurants. Afterwards, make sure you stop into one of Harpswell's two ice cream shops to finish off your dining experience. brbrA few of the local Harpswell restaurants we recommend within a 20-minute drive: Erica's Seafood, Dolphin Restaurant and Marina, Pammy's Ice Cream, Uncle Pete's Community Market, Island Candy Company, Salt Cod Cafe, Cook's Lobster & Ale House, Sundrenched and Bailey Island General Store (BIGS). Please confirm hours before arrival for seasonal days and hours. brbrBay-View is Pet friendly. 1 dog, maximum weight 50lbs. This quaint location is conveniently located as a home base for exploring our Maine coast, or simply just to enjoy our fishing village. Harpswell offers amazing views around every corner, fine shops, restaurants, galleries, hiking trails, as well as preserves, little beaches & the rocky shore ! The Old Town Cabin is named as such, because the owners family founded the company of Old Town Canoes, and has enjoyed much family time here, and now wishes to share it with others in hopes they will enjoy the cabin and the surrounding area just as much ! Many memories await you here ! The cabin is equipped with an air conditioner to help with the hot days/nights!brbrOur 2 bedroom cabin is very cozy, great open living room & dining area~ small kitchen with an apartment size stove and fridge. The bedroom with the queen size bed, is off of the kitchen area, with great ocean views. The other bedroom with the twin bunkbeds is off of the dining area~ the bathroom is a pass through located off of the bedroom with the twin beds. (you must go through the bedroom to get to the bathroom) The bathroom is small, not much room to move around, but has all you need.brbrThe outside decks are wonderful for relaxing with your morning coffee, afternoon cocktails, or just to enjoy the fresh ocean air !brbrAlso offering an outside Tesla Charging Station- brbrHarpswell has many nearby trails to enjoy, or you can utilize the many boat tours around the beautiful islands of Casco Bay. There is a Town Boat Launch conveniently located, just a few minutes away, on the main road. There are many islands, coves , points and open water to enjoy. Also great for kayaking! If you don 't have your own, no worries, rentals are available from local outfitters ! You will also enjoy the charm of local lobster boats, seabirds, and other sea creatures that inhabit the area. Harpswell has so much to offer, including fresh lobsters, farms, art galleries, dining, fine shops, exploring, and of course relaxing ! Travel to another island of Harpswell, and drive over the only existing, working Cribstone bridge in the US. Visit Land's End Gift Shop, board the Island Romance Ferry which cruises around the coastal islands, and so much more!brbrThe Old Town Cabin is also a great home base for exploring many coastal towns close by ! Driving distance to Popham Beach...the most spectacular stretch of sandy beach in Maine, along with historical forts to explore.
