When you open the door to the open living space you will be greated by two large sliding glass doors going directly out to the wrap around deck and gaze at the cove 30 feet below on gorgeous Quahog bay. I hope you brought fishing poles, kayaks, paddle boards and other water toys as there are so many places to explore. The cottage also comes with a community boat ramp if you have a boat in tow and a mooring availabe with prior approval. The open living space includes a gourmet kitchen fully equiped with everything you need for your summer lobster bakes and a grill with smoker outside. The kitchen features custom cabinets, open shelving, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and large refridgerator. Walk upstairs to settle into the 2 bedrooms with plush queen mattresses, closets and a built in work station. The reading nook also has a plush full size mattress on the floor which is nice for children. A half bathroom is also upstairs. You will notice the interior finishes gives a nod to its sea faring location and has many recycled, sustainable materials. At low tide you may be able to snag some clams from the local harvesters! Take a walk down to the point where the community area is with a wharf and digny dock. The cove is surrounded by land on all sides except for the outlet, which makes it excellent for water activities; kayaking, paddle board etc. Our location is a central spot for accessing many activities Harpswell and the surrounding area offer. The location on the western side of a peninsula permits this unique and wonderful perspective. The size and sleeping configuration make this cozy property ideal for one person or a couple. Modern technology comforts with high speed Wi-Fi Internet and Roku with unlimited Netflix. We do NOT have cable TV service, only Roku with unlimited Netflix.brbrNeighborhood: The cottage is located in a small neighborhood of approximately 15 summer dwellings. These cottages are located at the end of a one mile dirt road through undeveloped forest. So, the area is very quiet with virtually no traffic. There are neighbors on three sides, each approximately 100 feet away. The cottage is situated immediately on the oceanfront and enjoys direct beach access. The beach is rocky, not sandy, so it is not ideal for swimming, though it is well-suited for walks along the shore at low tide. The Atlantic Ocean in Maine is cold, reaching only about 55 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer.
