Located right on the water of the deep water side of Basin Point Road, this cottage features spectacular sunsets across Casco Bay. On a clear day you can see Mt Washington in New Hampshire. The house has 3 porches, and a big stone fireplace. The house is located at the end of a wooded road which insures privacy and no traffic. Whales and eagles, and frequently seals have been spotted from the back porch along with the lobster boats pulling their traps daily. Inside there are 2 bedrooms with one queen size bed, and one full, and a futon bed in the living room. There is a large dining room table which seats 10 easily and a fully furnished kitchen. The bathroom has an old fashioned claw foot bathtub with a shower attachment. And yes we do have Wifi! We now also have another cabin on the property that we have fixed up to include a full bathroom, a mini fridge, and beds that can either be 2 singles or combined to make one king . This quintessential Maine home is named in memory of Tides, our beloved yellow Labrador Retriever of 13 years, and the ocean tides which will quickly become your best friend and companion when staying at our beautiful Maine retreat. An environmentally friendly home—powered by solar and an automatic standby generator—nestled on 4 waterfront acres with a private road. Our home has a direct path to our private rock beach and water's edge deck offering direct access to the water and Casco Bay. This large family house features 3 large bedrooms and 2 full baths, including the master bedroom and a master bath en suite on the main living level. This very private residence offers a unique setting to get away from it all” and unwind. Yet it is also within a 12 minute drive to Brunswick, only 45 minutes to Portland Airport. and roughly 2 1/2 hour drive to Boston.brbrA perfect few days for us might be spent kayaking right in front of our residence, watching the sunrise over the water, possibly catching a glimpse of an eagle, watching the lobster boats go by while having breakfast, walking down our private road and taking in the beautiful scenery. We will often simply enjoy watching the ocean tides (we have an 11 foot tide) and also walking on the muddy tidal flats which at low tide extend several hundred yards into the bay. A visit to Brunswick to the Crystal Farms farmers market for some of the local produce is a favorite Saturday morning adventure. We highly recommend bringing home some of the local seafood, dining on our enormous deck with a glass of wine, as the moon shines on the water, flooding the house with lunar light.brClose by is the historic Town of Bath and a little further down the coastal highway is Reds where you can feast on world renown lobster rolls (be prepared to stand in line) . brBeing die hard foodies we love that we can be in Portland in about 45 minutes and dine at some of the finest restaurants that New England has to offer with excellent choices in farm to table dining. The Street and Fore Street are two favorites and a visit to Portland is not complete without a stop at Standard Bakery and Becky's Diner. If you love sushi then a visit to Miyake is a gastronomical experience to be savored. We also recommend checking out some of Portland’s exciting night life with an excellent selection of ocean front bars and local breweries – it’s a good time and you can always take an UBER back to Harpswell. Don't want to drive to Portland then stay local and check out a nearby dining treasure (in season) at Morse's Cribstone Grill. brA good way to work off all that food would be a trip to nearby Bradbury State Park for a hike to the top of the mountain or, weather permitting, kayaks are available for rental and can be delivered directly to the house.brA visit to LL Bean, along with the other fine retail outlet shops, is almost a requirement in nearby Freeport. Take the scenic Pleasant Hill road back to Brunswick and perhaps stop off first at Bow Street Market . The home is equipped with modern amenities such as WiFi, a fully stocked kitchen with a dishwasher, a washer and dryer, and three heat pump splits providing both air conditioning and heating for added comfort. Please note there is no traditional heat source in the home.brbrOn the main floor, you’ll find the kitchen leading to an oversized, sun-filled living area with high ceilings and a cozy sunporch. Two of the five bedrooms and one full bath are located on this level. There are two buildings and 3 living space in the property, we have the main house, the in-law unit and then the camp, we call it bunk house. The main house has 3 bedrooms and 3 full baths with attached 2-door garage, above the garage, we have a 1-bedroom 1 bathroom in-law unit. The bunk house has 2bedrooms, half bath, 1 dinning room, 1 living room and a kitchenette, it's also supplied with running room temperature water from May till the end of Oct, we shut off the water supply to the bunkhouse from Nov to April to prevent pipes from freezing.brbrWe renovated the main house in 2024 fall, finishing the in-law unit in March 2025, everything is brand new. The bunk house is truly antique itself, it was built 1795, it is one of the oldest house in Harpswell that is still well maintained, it has the charm that new houses don't have. Tie your boat off on the float. There is a large lawn, private parking, and local attractions to visit. There is many local hiking trails, beaches, museums, theatres, restaurants. L.L. Beans is about 25 minutes away.brIf you are interested in seafood lobsters are 4.50 - 5.50 a pound or you can get them all cooked for $5.00 each just down the road by 2 local fisherman.brThere is a propane fire pit for your personal use. brThere is a gas grill with a picnic table. The cottage has everything you may need for your stay.brThere is cable T.V. and internet.br If you have a favorite pillow or blanket please bring them though we do provide all the linens.
