Outstanding Oceanfront Log Home near Acadia National Park

Gouldsboro, Maine, United States

A Message to Our Valued Renters:brbrWe’re sure that you are experiencing more stress than you would like in these uncertain times. brA great spot to just relax and enjoy the view. Our renters agree that the photographs don't do it justice. A large great room has floor to ceiling windows overlooking the bay, and has a stone fireplace so you can watch the sunset or sit by the fire. The kitchen is very well appointed and includes just about everything the chef desires except the food. There is a full laundry room with a washer and a dryer. No need to waste hours at the laundromat. The rec room includes a ping pong table, games, video tapes, DVDs, and satellite TV as well as a cozy stone fireplace and a seating area to relax and enjoy the fire or the spectacular view of Frenchman Bay. The children's bedroom is furnished with a full/twin bunk bed, a twin size bed, and a Pack n Play. In addition there are two beautifully furnished bedrooms with queen-size beds. There is a queen size sofa bed in the great room, another in the rec room, and two comfortable inflatable beds which each sleep two adults.brbrbrThe home is located about 35 minutes from Bar Harbor, the hub of activities on Mount Desert Island and gateway to Acadia National Park. Bar Harbor offers dozens of restaurants and shops and also kayak and bike rentals.brbr Hikers who prefer less crowded trails will find that nearby Black Mountain and Schoodic Mountain offer gorgeous panoramic vistas of lakes, ponds, Frenchman Bay, and the Porcupine Islands without the large numbers of hikers found on the better known trails of Acadia. brbrWinter Harbor, just 5 minutes away, offers galleries, shops and dining, all located in a quaint lobster fishing village with a picturesque town harbor and dock. A passenger ferry runs numerous trips daily from Winter Harbor to Bar Harbor. Lobster pounds abound, and two are located within a couple of miles of the house. Swim and fish at nearby Jones Pond or Donnell Pond at the foot of Schoodic Mountain. Kayaks can be rented in nearby Birch Harbor and kayak tours can also be arranged. brbrThe entrance to the Schoodic Section of Acadia National Park is a few minutes from the house by car or bike, and is a beautiful 'secret' spot which is visited by only a few of the thousands of visitors to Acadia.

Schoodic Home Near Acadia: Outdoor Tub, Kayaks, Fire Pit, EV, Pets Welcome

Gouldsboro, Maine, United States

Welcome to the quiet side. Settle in on the Schoodic Peninsula and share Maine with locals, not cruise ships. Our home sits on 2 wooded acres in Gouldsboro, 20 minutes from the mainland portion of Acadia National Park and the Schoodic Loop Road. Grab a book, an Allagash White, and relax in the outdoor soaking tub. A short walk down the drive to the Jones Pond trail brings you to two shoreline kayaks and 467 acres of clear quiet water. If your Maine bucket list includes blueberry pancakes and asking Alexa how to steam a lobster, my husband and I built this for you.brbrTHE HOMEbrbrYes, this place IS tiny. Compact and cozy was the goal for our design. The Mainelander might be small but it's got everything you need to make your stay feel like home. The kitchen is stocked — range, fridge, dishes, farm sink, Keurig, French press for the coffee snob— I mean connoisseurs. All joking aside, there is no vacation without good coffee, so grab some pods or some grinds and you'll be set. A two-seater table faces the window to the front of the property, and when the weather is clear, there's not much better than an evening breeze and a couple fresh lobsters at the picnic table. There's a pot on the shelf if you want the whole experience, but the local sellers like Chipman's Wharf or The Lobstore will steam them up for you as well. The living room is cozy with a comfy couch and an electric fireplace. Yes, I have too many books, but can there really ever be too many Curl up with whatever calls to you from the shelves, or if pages aren't your thing, the Wi-Fi is fast, the TV is smart, and whoever said enjoying nature means roughing it must not have had a favorite comfort show. Splitting your attention between Hulu and the deer that make regular appearances out the living room window is a pretty great way to wind down and decompress. There are two sleeping areas — one is accessed via ship's ladder, the other a narrow stairway. There is limited headspace above both beds. I know you're still thinking about the deer and the lobsters and catching up on your TBR, but it is important to us that our guests understand that this is a tiny home and that means some places are easy to bump your head, and some taller guests might not be as comfortable in certain areas. If you've stayed in a tiny house before you know the drill. If you haven't, take a look at the photos — we want you to enjoy your stay. We love our place, we want you to love it too, but it won't be for everyone. The bathroom has a normal-sized tile shower, a euro-style sink, and a full-sized toilet. Pets are family. They are welcome here. No breed or size restrictions. We just ask they stay off the beds and the couch — it's hard, we know, we have pets too.brbrOUTSIDE IS WHERE IT SHINESbrbrMost guests find that while they enjoy the cottage-vibed interior, the outside is the real draw. The clawfoot soaking tub has a hot water spigot and is truly a unique experience. With string lights above, the space is covered and private, and can be used day or night, rain or shine. Prop up a chair by the stone fire pit and enjoy an evening full of all the best parts about camping without the tent. Taking in a sky full of stars without light pollution is something everyone should experience at least once in their lives. If you have a clear night, don't forget to look up — it's not something a photo can capture. There's a lot up here that photos can't capture.brbrWHAT'S NEARBYbrbrWe're on the Schoodic Peninsula — the quiet, uncrowded side of Acadia National Park. Private Oceanfront Retreat on Acadia’s Quiet Side, Harbor Views, True Maine

Gouldsboro, Maine, United States

Where the ocean sets the pace, a private authentic world near Acadia Schoodic Point, away from the crowds of Mount Desert Island.brbrSet on the edge of Gouldsboro Bay in the working harbor village of Corea, this oceanfront home offers something increasingly rare on the East Coast: space, silence, and an authentic connection to the water. brbrLocated on the Schoodic Peninsula, the quiet, uncrowded side of Acadia National Park, this is where those in the know come to experience Maine as it was meant to be: rugged coastline, lobster boats in the harbor, and days shaped by tide, weather, and light. brbrThe home sits on a private stretch of waterfront with expansive views across the bay. Inside, an open-concept living space is designed to bring the outdoors in, with large windows, natural light, and comfortable gathering areas for family and friends. brbrFive bedrooms, four and 1/2 baths and a luxury sauna comfortably accommodate up to twelve guests, making it ideal for both quiet retreats and meaningful time together. Ideal for families and couples looking to unplug and reconnect, nature lovers who prefer quiet over crowds, and for those seeking an authentic Maine coastal experience.brbrWhat makes this place truly special is the oceanfront setting with direct access to the shoreline. Located in Corea, a historic working lobster village, not a tourist town, 10–15 minutes to Schoodic Point, one of the most dramatic and uncrowded areas of Acadia Panoramic water views and ever-changing coastal light. Peace and privacy that’s increasingly hard to find the experience. brbrMornings begin with coffee as fog lifts off the bay. Midday might take you hiking the granite cliffs of Schoodic or exploring tidepools along the shore. Evenings are for fresh lobster, a glass of wine, and watching the light fade over the water. brbrThis is not a resort, and that’s exactly the point. There are no crowds, no lines, and no distractions. Instead, you’ll find clarity, stillness, and a deeper kind of luxury, the kind that comes from being somewhere real. brbrPlan to bring groceries and enjoy cooking-in or fire-up the outdoor grill while enjoying a spectacular sun-set. Weather can be dynamic (fog, wind, sun), part of the Maine coastal experience. Bar Harbor and Mount Desert Island are about an hour away if you want a day trip. brbrIf you’re looking for polished luxury, there are plenty of options. If you’re looking for authentic Maine, oceanfront solitude, and a place to truly rest and reset, this is it. The Haguelnn House has everything Coastal Maine has to offer.brbrHosted and managed by Cheryl Hurd. brContact: email: churd9479@gmail.com brOr send a message to VRBO host for more information!brbrAcadia National Park - Schoodic Point: 13 miles (15 min)brWinter Harbor: 9 miles (10 min)brEllsworth: 29 miles (30 min)brBar Harbor: 44 miles (45mn)brBangor: 56 miles (1hr)brFerry to Bar Harbor: 88 Sargent Street, Winter Harbor, ME (20 minutes from property and an approx. 45 min ferry ride to MDI)brbrOur prices include all fees.
