Private Vacation Home

Luxury Home - Multiple Decks, Gas Grill, Incredible Views, Hiking from the Property

Grand Lake, Colorado, United States

Welcome to the Shadow Shores Chalet by Mountain Vacation Lodging. This large geothermal house has incredible quality throughout, loads of indoor and outdoor space to enjoy, and a very attractive location. The Shores at Shadow Mountain Lake is a small neighborhood that, as the name suggests, is adjacent to the lake. This home is perched on the crest of a hill for commanding views of the lake and surrounding mountains. There are 4 bedrooms, all with attached ensuite bathrooms, plus bunk beds in the lower living room, making this home ideal for groups of couples as well as families with kids or singles. The house features a large kitchen, multiple living rooms, wet bar and ping pong table, large bedrooms suites, upscale bathrooms, including 2 jacuzzi tubs, a steam shower, and so much more. Please read on for more details.brbrThe Property:brThe home has 3 levels of space to enjoy and you enter on the main or middle level. The primary living room is large and feels very spacious, thanks to the 20 foot high vaulted ceilings. It has two sets of French doors and second story windows that provide a good amount of natural light. The elk antler chandelier, black walnut hardwood floors, and stacked rock fireplace accentuate the comfortable leather furniture. The dining room seats 8 comfortably, with two more chairs available for a total of 10. It adjoins the living room and kitchen and also has direct access to the large back deck. The back deck has dining tables with seating for 8, a sitting area for 5, a gas grill, and great views. The gourmet kitchen is a chef's delight with plenty of space and great flow. Brazilian granite slab counters and stainless steel appliances are just the beginning. The custom cabinetry throughout includes dishwashing drawers. The large island includes bar seating for prep work. There is a nook for coffee or other beverages and empty cabinet space for your groceries. The appliances are great too, with wall mounted ovens, a gas range, and a fridge that includes filtered water and ice that lets you avoid wasteful bottled water. This level also includes one bedroom suite (Bedroom and Bathroom 3), a half bathroom, and laundry. brbrBedroom 1 is a very large suite found upstairs. It includes a beautiful King size bed, an armchair, gas fireplace, vaulted T & G ceilings with exposed beams, a ceiling fan, and wall mounted HDTV. This bedroom has views looking south and north, across Shadow Mountain Lake to Rocky Mountain National Park. The bathroom within this bedroom suite features travertine tile around the terraced bathtub, the dual sink vanity, and throughout the 6 headed shower with bench. Take in a view of the lake while you relax in the large jacuzzi tub, which can comfortably accommodate two people, or enjoy a shower that is thoroughly refreshing. There's also a large walk in closet for all of your things. Bedroom 2 is also upstairs. It features a Queen bed, vaulted ceilings, and mountain views. Like bedroom 1, the furniture set is of high quality. The private bathroom here includes a water closet, large walk in shower, and a walk in closet. Bedroom 3 is on the main level but still has vaulted ceilings. Yet again the furniture is exquisite. This Queen bedroom is quite large. It has a table and chairs for two, a walk in closet, and direct access to the back deck. The private bathroom features two copper sinks, another large jacuzzi tub big enough for two people, a separate shower, and a water closet. Bedroom 4 is downstairs and is so large that it easily accommodates a King size sleigh bed with matching bedside tables, dresser and two ceiling fans. The bathroom is massive and includes a large dual headed steam shower so you can create your own luxury spa experience. This big bathroom can be accessed directly from the bedroom or from the lower living room, in case your group includes anyone sleeping in the bunk beds. brbrThe lower living room is quite a big space. The log frame bunk beds include a Twin over Twin and a Twin over Full. So this space could work for a couple, 5 kids, or a mix. This big bonus room includes a wet bar with fridge, a foldable and moveable ping pong table, and comfy furniture surrounding a larger HDTV, new in summer 2022. From here you can also access the lower level deck, which is shaded, a great place to relax with a book. brbrLocation:brThe Shores of Shadow Mountain is one of Grand County's premier communities. It is on the western edge of Rocky Mountain National Park and the southern edge of Shadow Mountain Lake. This community includes 34 acres of dedicated open space. Downtown Grand Lake is only 4 miles away. Boat ramps and access to both Lake Granby and Shadow Mountain Lake are a very short drive. For Shadow Mountain Lake, you don't even leave the neighborhood, which is a quiet, safe area where you might see more wildlife than cars. The location within the neighborhood is ideal. Located on an elevated cul-de-sac, the views are beautiful in any direction. brbrArrival, Access, and Parking:brOnce you book, we're here to support you. We provide you with arrival instructions and answers to any specific questions you might have. Accessing this property does require a couple of stairs, to enter the main level, and remember that one bedroom suite is on the main level, if anyone in your group doesn't do well with stairs. Please look for and review any Rental Agreement terms, House Rules, and or Terms and Conditions presented during the online booking process. After booking, a Vacation Rental Agreement will be provided. All guests are required to sign the agreement within 72 hours of booking, and prior to occupying the property. There may be other requirements. For example, Guests may be required to provide additional information about the group that will occupy the property and or identification documents. Background checks may be performed, and in some areas are required by local law. Guests may be required to provide a credit card and or a refundable security/damage deposit. We will be in touch after you book to gather additional information and to email you the rental agreement, which you can sign electronically - no printer required. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us before booking.br** Amenities - Some private or shared amenities may not be available for guest use during certain periods. Some amenities, when part of a property, may close daily, seasonally, or for maintenance. As such, all amenities can not be guaranteed to be available at all times. Please advise us when or before booking if you have questions about a specific property amenity so that we can give you the most accurate information possible for your dates.br** Air Conditioning - Most mountain resort properties were not built with air conditioning. During most hours of the day and weeks of the year, AC is not needed. Summer nights are cool and fans are provided at most properties. Check the average high and low temperatures and weather forecast for your dates of travel, and look at the list of amenities to see if AC or fans are part of the rental property and look for ceiling fans in photos.br** Group Sizes, High Occupancy Fees, & Maximum Occupancy - Some properties use a “High Occupancy Fee” to “raise the rate” for larger groups, and are thus able to list a lower nightly rate for smaller groups. Each rental agreement and associated rates are for a specific group size. Guests must enter the correct and maximum group size at the time of booking. The agreement requires a guest to confirm the group size and subsequently, to disclose any changes to the planned group size, which may result in an increase, or decrease, to the total cost, and may result in a security deposit becoming required.br** Video & Noise Monitoring - Please note that noise monitoring devices, and security cameras, do exist on the exterior of the property. Cameras are positioned to cover all entrances and exits of the home. Cameras are present to ensure the property remains secure and safe, as well as to ensure that guests are honest and upfront about their planned use of the property. If you plan to bring more people than you've indicated, more dogs than indicated, to host a party or event, or do not intend to respect neighbors or the value and quality of the property, then this is not the place for you, and you should not book the property. For normal, respectful groups, we are sorry that these statements and measures are necessary. Security cameras and noise monitoring devices are an example and demonstration that the property's owners are taking steps to ensure the home remains available for rental, and in good condition, for your benefit. Please let us know if you have any concerns. br** Cleaning Fees & Lengthy Rental Periods - The standard cleaning fee quoted as part of any booking is for the final cleaning, which is to be performed after the rental period has ended. For guests who are booking a lengthy stay of more than one week, a mid stay-cleaning fee equal to the final cleaning fee may apply for the second week, third week, and so on. If you are booking for a lengthy stay, please contact us before booking online to discuss your group, your dates, the rates, the cleaning schedule, etc.

Scandi-Modern INCREDIBLE VIEWS Large Deck

Grand Lake, Colorado, United States

Mountain life meets high-end, cozy comfort at Lakeview Haven, a Scandinavian Modern styled retreat overlooking Colorado’s Lake Granby, with gorgeous 180-degree views of the lake and mountain peaks from its large deck. brbrWe've taken a Mid Century house and kept many of its charming vintage interior features, but added a lovingly curated look that mixes retro, Scandinavian hygge, and modern comfort and functionality. brbrYou'll have this well-supplied house to yourselves in a quiet neighborhood.brbrAfter many years of our own travel and staying in vacation rentals, we've made sure that the look, comfort (ESPECIALLY, comfortable beds!), touches and supplies that are important to us are reflected in what we offer to you. Our house is perfect for a romantic getaway; a couples retreat; or a friends, family or sports vacation. brbrLakeview Haven offers 3 bedrooms (1 king bed and 2 queen beds) and 3 baths, with a capacity of 6 people. We have laundry machines, and feature ample parking, are permitted for 4 vehicles and can accommodate a small trailer. brbrOur guests say they appreciate the details and interactive touches that make Lakeview Haven feel like a home; that it is well-supplied and thoughtfully cared for; that it is equipped for families with children; and that it is close to so many summer activities. And: Everybody loves the deck and the views.brbrWe have rented Lakeview Haven on another platform since 2019 (where we have 82 reviews and a 4.96/5.0 rating), and are excited for our renewed relationship with VRBO. We are communicative hosts, and work hard for our guests. This is our only vacation rental, and we use it ourselves during the off-season. So we take care of it for us, but also take great pleasure in providing a wonderful experience for you.brbrThe Details:brbr* Relax outside on our large deck for your meals, morning coffee, or evening cocktail; read or play games; stargaze at night (we have personally laid out on the chaise lounge chairs to watch meteor showers); and watch the boats on the water and the weather as it changes over the peaks in several directions. With our view, cloudless bluebird days and stormy afternoons are equally enrapturing. Keep an eye out for fox, moose, elk, deer, hummingbirds, osprey, and a multitude of other birds. We see them all in the neighborhood, seasonally.brbr* The views don't stop with the deck. We've set up the inside to take best advantage of the views, as well, with cozy perches, the dining table near windows, and a kitchen island set up so you can look out at the lake and mountains while preparing meals. The ensuite queen bedroom features an excellent lake and mountain view.brbr* We've made a great effort to ensure the kitchen is well-supplied in terms of pots and pans, dishes (including a small supply of children's dishware), appliances, and cooking utensils, as well as cleaning supplies, soaps, coffee filters, paper towels, cooking oil, spices, and salt/pepper. We like to cook and bake, so our kitchen is set up for people who also like to cook and bake. We have a stand mixer, hand mixer, blender, food processor, microwave, slow cooker, George Forman grill, stovetop popcorn popper and tea kettle, a traditional drip coffee maker, a Keurig and a French press, and a coffee-bean grinder. THE ONLY THING MISSING in the kitchen is a DISHWASHER; we're still working it into the fantastic retro-Sixties lower cabinetry. We do have a propane grill right outside the kitchen door. brbr* In the Great Room you'll find an inviting living and dining area that represents a mix of Mid Century Modern and Scandinavian Modern furniture, hand-picked design elements and art, a wood-burning fireplace with supplied wood, plenty of cozy throw blankets, Wi-Fi, a high-definition TV, a modern turntable with vintage records allowing you to have an analog Sixties experience through a modern entertainment system, and a large DVD collection. Play your own streaming apps through our Roku. (We do not have cable TV.)brbr* The bedrooms have COMFORTABLE mattresses and supplied linens and towels. Each bathroom has toilet paper, facial tissue and hand soap. There are extra blankets and pillows, and standing fans in the closets for summer months. (PLEASE NOTE that like most mountain homes in the area, WE DO NOT HAVE AIR-CONDITIONING.) There are two hair dryers in the house, and beach towels in the hall closet. And we have one high chair and one Pack N Play, with linens.brbr* The art in the house celebrates the history of Grand County, Rocky Mountain National Park, the allure of Colorado outdoors, and our Scandinavian heritage. We offer a small curated library of regional books for your reference; take-one-leave-one novels; and LOTS of games and toys (in the hall closet, 3rd bedroom and outdoor storage). And our custom wall map shows the boat launches, local trails and provides the names for local features you'll view from the house.brbr* We are in the process of setting up a Game Room in the space under the deck. This will be partially completed for Summer 2026.brbrLakeview Haven is certainly a retreat, an escape, a place to unwind, a place to reconnect with yourself, each other and nature. But we are also at the epicenter of endless opportunities for summer and early-fall activities.brbr* 2 blocks from Lake Granby and Beacon Landing Marina. Lake Granby is the second-largest body of water in Colorado and offers a plethora of summer fishing and other water-sports opportunities, and gorgeous scenery – it’s encircled by several mountain ranges. Reserve (plan ahead) a pontoon boat from Beacon Landing and explore the lake's nooks and crannies, and remote beaches; book a fishing charter or lake tour from Beacon; or rent a kayak, canoe or SUP board from vendors on Shadow Mountain and Grand lakes;brbr* 3 blocks from the start of the Granby Pump Canal, which feeds into Shadow Mountain Lake. It’s a great spot for fishing, and the relatively flat path along it is one of our favorites for taking an easy walk or a scenic run. You many see many types of ducks, as well as river otters;brbr* 2.5 miles from the Stillwater Boat Launch.brbr* 3 miles from the Green Ridge Boat Launch.brbr* 3.5 miles from Shadow Mountain Dam, where the Colorado River flows out of Shadow Mountain toward Lake Granby. The 2-mile stretch of the river in between is a popular fishing spot.brbr* 5 miles from Grand Lake and Grand Lake Village (quaint town, restaurants, shopping, Mountain Market grocers, many lake activities). Grand Lake Village is known for its summer and early-fall events and festivals, including its famous 4th of July celebration, Folk Festival, Tombstone Tales, Buffalo Days, and the Troublesome Fest music festival. You'll also find the East Inlet Trailhead to Adam's Falls (and beyond) east of the village on the far end of the lake; brbr* 5.5 miles from the West entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park, home to stunning, rugged scenery; incredible hiking and wildlife; and the 48-mile Trail Ridge Road, the highest continuous paved road in North America; brbr* 6 miles from Grand Lake Golf Course (14 miles from Grand Elk Golf Club);brbr* 10 miles from the town of Granby (main street, bigger stores, large grocery store, additional restaurants, hospital and such); brbr* 13.5 miles from the Granby Rodeo at Flying Heels Arena;brbr* 15 miles from the Monarch Lake Trailhead, which features a gorgeous and family-friendly 4-mile loop around the lake. Moose sightings are common;brbr* 20 miles from YMCA Snow Mountain Ranch, which offers tons of family-friendly summer activities, including horseback riding, canoeing and SUP boarding, an aerial challenge course, mountain-biking and e-biking, disc golf, a climbing wall, and much more;brbr* 20.5 miles from Hot Sulphur Springs Resort & Spa (natural hot mineral springs); brbr* 27.5 miles from Devil’s Thumb Resort (high-end restaurants, spa); and brbr* 30 miles from Winter Park (resort town, restaurant-rich), offering a plethora of activities, including outdoor concerts and music festivals, an alpine slide, mountain-biking, hiking, and fishing.brbrHalf-Day & Day Trips and other things to do:br* River Raftingbr* Georgetown Loop Railroadbr* Mine toursbr* Visit the Breckenridge Trollbr* Zipliningbr* Summer Dogsleddingbr* Trail-Runningbr* ATV, side-by-side and motorcycle trail-ridingbrbrPeople also come to Colorado to see our Aspens in the fall, which turn golden and create a gorgeous tapestry on our mountainsides of dark green pine and bright yellow.
