Canoes, kayaks, paddleboats and rowboats that are provided in some of our homes are also available from mid-June to mid-September only. All outdoor living areas are shielded from the road by the home, natural surroundings and a 10-foot high privacy fence (at the front of the property only). The neighborhood is a mix of residential and commercial. Neighbors include full-time residents, a local pub, a deli, a self-serve carwash and a gas station/mini mart. Be aware that though there is a visual privacy, the carwash can be heard when in use and noise from the pub may be heard. We have had very few mentions from guests about either of these establishements. Please contact our office if you have any questions about the proximity of the road or any other questions about the property. Members of our staff have stayed at this home, and loved it!brbrWalk To: There are 2 bars, a restaurant and community pool within walking distance. (Stumptown Brewery and Tavern McHugh's are two doors down; the Rio Nido Roadhouse is less than a 10 minute walk. Both Stumptown and the Rio Nido Roadhouse have live music on a regular basis. The restaurant Tavern McHugh's is next to Stumptown.) Great Wine Country location! Korbel winery and vineyards are only 0.2 miles east. The walk to downtown Guerneville is over 1.5 miles but completely flat.brbrShared Three Acre Property: Contente shares the lawn and river access with Culture Blend, a similar 4 bedroom, 4 bath home that also sleeps 14 guests. Wine Country Retreat with Pool & Hot Tub - Dogs OK!

Guerneville, California, United States

Summary:brbrTucked between the world-renowned vineyards of Healdsburg and the towering redwoods of Armstrong State Park, Sweetwater Ranch has a rich history dating back to the 1800s. Once part of the original mining town of Mercury, this beautifully updated home seamlessly blends vintage charm with modern comforts. Whether you’re savoring a glass of wine by the pool, or relaxing in the beautiful gardens, this is the perfect escape for wine lovers, nature enthusiasts, and those seeking a tranquil getaway.brbrbrbrThe Space:brbrUpon stepping inside, you'll immediately notice the updated Victorian charm. Think gourmet kitchen for your inner chef (or for ordering takeout, no judgment!), BBQ for those sunny afternoons, and plenty of spots to sip on local wines and beers while gazing out at the pool, hot tub, gardens, and even our very own grapevines. It’s like a postcard comes to life, only with better snacks.brbrbrbrSpeaking of outdoors, prepare to fall in love! Picture this: sun-kissed afternoons by the pool (toe-dipping encouraged, full-on cannonballs applauded!), evenings soaking in the hot tub under a blanket of stars, and the soothing sound of the seasonal creek as your soundtrack. Inside, you'll find beautifully decorated bedrooms, including a downstairs separate suite for added privacy, and a master bath with a tub that’s practically begging you to relax. Need to work We have a laptop-friendly spot. Need to unwind Smart TVs are ready for movie nights. Basically, Sweetwater Ranch is your home base for adventure, relaxation, and everything in between. And if you need any local tips or recommendations, we'd love to share our favorites.brbrbrbrA few things to know about getting around Sweetwater Ranch. It's a charming three-story Victorian, and like many older homes, it has its quirks – in the best possible way, of course! To reach the lovely wrap-around porch, there are two sets of half-story stairs, one at the front and one by the driveway. Inside, a set of stairs leads to the upper bedroom from the main level.brbrbrbrAnd for the downstairs suite Ah, that's where things get a bit more... natural. A path winds its way around the house, leading you to your private retreat. Now, these redwood trees, they're quite the characters, and their roots have a mind of their own! So, the path can be a tad uneven in spots. Think of it as a little adventure on your way to relaxation. The downstairs suite itself is ground level, just like the pool and hot tub, so no stairs there!brbrbrbrFor those who’d like to explore the garden, we have many paths meandering through the property, all following the natural lay of the land. They're beautiful, but just a note: they can be a bit uneven and, depending on the season, a bit muddy.brbrbrbrGuest Access:brbrGuests have exclusive access to the entire property, including the three-story main house, the downstairs suite, gardens, pool, hot tub, and the surrounding grounds.brbrbrbrThe Neighborhood:brbrSweetwater Ranch is nestled along Sweetwater Springs Road, a scenic and winding route that connects the charming towns of Guerneville and Healdsburg. Located just minutes from downtown Guerneville, you'll find a vibrant mix of locally owned restaurants, artisan shops, and the iconic Johnson’s Beach along the Russian River.brbrbrbrWine lovers can explore the renowned vineyards of the Russian River Valley, where top-tier wineries like Korbel, Hartford Family Winery, and Bucher Wines are just a short drive away. Outdoor enthusiasts will love hiking among the ancient redwoods of Armstrong Woods State Park, kayaking on the Russian River, or taking a day trip to the rugged Sonoma Coast, where stunning beaches and oceanfront trails await.brbrbrbrThough tucked away in a peaceful, rural setting, Sweetwater Ranch is conveniently located for exploring the best of Sonoma County—whether you're in the mood for wine tasting, outdoor adventure, or a quiet retreat surrounded by nature.brbrbrbrGetting Around:brbrSweetwater Ranch offers a tranquil escape, yet it's also your perfect base for exploring the diverse beauty of the region. Whether you're arriving by car or planning to use ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft (readily available in the area), you'll find easy access to a wealth of adventures.brbrbrbr- 5 minutes to Armstrong Redwoods State Parkbrbr- 10 minutes to downtown Guerneville/Russian Riverbrbr- 25 minutes to the Pacific Oceanbrbr- 25 minutes to HealdsburgbrbrbrbrFor those exploring by car, the Russian River Valley offers a tapestry of scenic drives. We highly recommend a drive out to the stunning Sonoma Coast. Take Highway 116 west through Guerneville, and you'll soon find yourself winding along the breathtaking coastline, with dramatic ocean views and charming coastal towns. For a taste of wine country, a short drive north will take you to the vibrant town of Healdsburg, where you can explore world-class wineries and enjoy delicious farm-to-table dining. Or, simply explore the many hidden gems of the Russian River Valley, with its picturesque vineyards and redwood-lined roads. Uber and Lyft are available in the area, just make sure to reserve in plenty of time as these services, while available, can be limited. brbrbrbrFor day trips, consider a drive into Santa Rosa, a bustling city with a thriving arts scene and a diverse culinary landscape. And if you're looking for a big city adventure, San Francisco is just a scenic drive away, offering endless opportunities for exploration and entertainment.brbrbrbrCyclists, rejoice! Sweetwater Springs Road is a local gem, a punchy and invigorating ride connecting Westside Road near Healdsburg to Armstrong Woods Road in Guerneville. Think of it as an adventure on two wheels! It's a 10-mile ride each way, with a satisfying 1,160 feet of elevation gain. For an even grander experience, we highly recommend extending your ride into the majestic Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve (bikes enter for free!). Continue on to the charming town of Guerneville for a post-ride treat, or perhaps add a wine tasting at one of the delightful wineries along the way. We're happy to suggest some of our favorite routes and wineries if you'd like!brbrbrbrOther Things to Note:brbrFencing: The main portion of the yard is fenced along the road and creek, but it is not 'dog-proof.' We recommend walking the fence line before allowing your pet off-leash. Safety fencing is installed around the pool, as required by local regulations. Should you remove it during your stay, we kindly request that you replace it prior to your departure for the benefit of our subsequent guests.brbrbrbrDogs: We are delighted to welcome up to two well-behaved dogs. Please ensure your furry friends are never left unattended. A small pet fee applies to cover additional cleaning, any damages caused by pets may incur extra charges. The outdoor space features a hose for rinsing off muddy paws, as well as provided dog bowls and cleanup bags.brbrbrbrPool & Hot Tub: The pool is not heated, but it offers a comfortable temperature from June to September. Between October and May, water temperatures may dip to 40 degrees, and guests may observe an increased presence of floating leaves. The hot tub is integrated into the pool and is available on-demand year-round. It requires 30-45 minutes to heat.brbrbrbr Please note that during the rainy season (typically October through March), outdoor furniture cushions are stored away to protect them from the elements and ensure they remain clean and dry. Consequently, outdoor seating may not be set up as pictured during these months.brbrbrbr To ensure a seamless check-in, all guests must complete a quick pre-check-in verification through our secure guest portal; a link will be sent after your booking is confirmed.brbrbrbrInteraction with Guests:brbrWe strive to achieve the perfect balance between providing our guests with the privacy they desire while remaining accessible for any questions or needs that may arise. We respect your space and ensure that your stay is as comfortable as possible. However, if you have any inquiries, require assistance, or simply want some local tips and recommendations, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We're always more than happy to help make your stay a memorable and enjoyable experience.

Guerneville Dog-Friendly Riverfront Cabin with Outdoor Kitchen

Guerneville, California, United States

Summary:brbrSunlight filters through towering redwoods as you sip morning coffee on the wraparound deck overlooking the Russian River. This dog-friendly retreat sleeps 8 with three bedrooms and an impressive outdoor kitchen complete with dual grills and smoker. Your private neighborhood beach sits right in the backyard — launch kayaks or simply wade into the gentle current. Just 5 minutes from downtown Guerneville's restaurants and 2 miles to Armstrong Redwoods. The river calls, and your cabin awaits.brbrbrbrThe Space:brbrSpend mornings on the deck as mist lifts off the Russian River, afternoons floating the river or visiting Korbel and Joseph Jewell tasting rooms, and evenings around the firepit with the day's bottles.brbrbrbrThe living room rises to vaulted ceilings with exposed dark wood beams. Sink into the sectional beside the wood-burning fireplace, queue something on the 50-inch smart TV, or pour a drink at the antique bar. Stainless appliances — French-door fridge, gas range — line the galley with a small island for extra prep, and a sliding glass door opens straight to the deck. The dining table seats six for the long, slow Russian River evenings the home is built around.brbrbrbrOUTDOOR LIVINGbrbrThe wraparound deck is where the magic happens — three umbrella-shaded dining tables and a high-top for two nestle among the redwoods. In the fenced backyard, an outdoor kitchen with dual gas grills, range, and smoker surrounds a grand table for alfresco feasts. End the evening around the firepit, then rinse off in the outdoor shower.brbrbrbrSLEEPING ARRANGEMENTSbrbrThree bedrooms sleep up to eight. The first two each offer a queen bed. The third has a queen plus a twin-over-full bunk — for families. A pocket door connects the second and third bedrooms.brbrbrbrPROPERTY AMENITIESbrbr-- Dog-friendlybrbr-- Wood-burning fireplacebrbr-- Outdoor kitchen with dual grills, range, and smokerbrbr-- Wraparound deckbrbr-- Firepitbrbr-- Outdoor showerbrbrbrbrGuest Access:brbrStep out to an elevated deck on the redwoods' edge, valley and forest fanning out, then come back inside this knotty-pine cabin where built-in bunks line the kids' room. You've got the whole home, dogs welcome, with a balcony off the main level and outdoor dining wrapping around. Punch in the keypad code on arrival; up to two cars fit in the carport, with two more in the driveway.brbrbrbrThe Neighborhood:brbrYour cabin sits in a prime Russian River location, with your own private neighborhood beach right in the backyard — perfect for launching kayaks or cooling off on warm afternoons. The famous Korbel Winery is just 0.9 miles away for champagne tastings, while The Farmhand coffee shop is practically next door at 0.2 miles for your morning caffeine fix. When hunger strikes, La Fogata Taco Truck is a mere 0.1 mile stroll, or drive 5 minutes to downtown Guerneville where boon eat + drink (1.2 mi) serves seasonal California cuisine and Coffee Bazaar (1.1 mi) offers hearty breakfasts. The magnificent Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve awaits just 1.8 miles away — walk among ancient giants on the Pioneer Nature Trail. For groceries, MD Liquor and Food is 1.2 miles away, though Safeway (1.3 mi) offers a fuller selection. Your dog will love Bruno Farnocchia Dog Park, just 0.7 miles from your door.brbrbrbrGetting Around:brbrGuerneville is about 90 minutes from San Francisco via 101 and River Road — a scenic drive through vineyards and into the redwoods. You'll have plenty of room with 4 parking spaces (2 in the carport, 2 in the driveway). A car makes the Russian River Valley easy to explore, from redwood trails to riverside wineries. Cell service gets patchy in the redwoods, so downloading offline maps before you arrive is worth it.brbrbrbrOther Things to Note:brbrThe high-speed internet (350 Mbps down) keeps you connected when cell service gets spotty in the redwoods. While the home has efficient mini-split AC units and space heaters, the towering redwoods provide natural cooling shade on warm days. Take advantage of the incredible outdoor kitchen — with two gas grills, a gas range, AND a smoker, you can create feast-worthy meals. The outdoor shower is perfect after sandy river adventures. This is a true cabin experience with authentic knotty pine throughout — embrace the nostalgic Russian River vibe. The primary renter must be 25 or older. Your private beach access is a rare amenity — most properties require driving to river access points.

Guerneville Dog-Friendly Redwood Cottage with Hot Tub

Guerneville, California, United States

Summary:brbrSoak in the redwood-shaded hot tub after a day on the Russian River, less than two miles from downtown Guerneville's restaurants and Johnson's Beach. This dog-friendly cottage sleeps 4 across two queen bedrooms, with a wraparound deck, gas grill, and fully remodeled kitchen tucked into the trees.brbrbrbrThe Space:brbrSpend mornings on the deck as light filters through the redwoods, afternoons floating at Johnson's Beach or tasting at Korbel four miles up the road, and evenings grilling on the deck before a nightcap at Stumptown Brewery across the river. Guerneville River Park and Austin Creek State Recreation Area (seven miles north) round out the day-trip lineup.brbrbrbrSink into the sectional in the open living space, where French doors swing wide to the covered deck and a wall-mounted flatscreen sets up movie nights under wood-paneled ceilings. Streaming-capable TV and high-speed WiFi keep everyone connected, though service can get spotty in bad weather — a fair trade for the redwood quiet.brbrbrbrCook on the stainless range in a fully remodeled kitchen, where turquoise upper cabinets pop above quartz counters and the dishwasher and microwave handle the busywork. Pull up to the four-top alongside for harvest-inspired dinners or a board-game battle with Outburst and Sequence pulled from the shelf.brbrbrbrOUTDOOR LIVINGbrbrStep onto the covered front porch to shake off the drive, then claim the furnished rear deck for alfresco dinners at the glass-top table. Fire up the gas grill, gather at the wooden picnic table on the lower deck, and end the night in the private hot tub set on its own level beneath mature trees. The fully fenced yard gives your dog room to roam.brbrbrbrSLEEPING ARRANGEMENTSbrbrTwo bedrooms sleep 4:brbr- Bedroom 1: Queen bedbrbr- Bedroom 2: Queen bed, desk and chair for remote workbrbr- Bathroom: Full tub-shower combobrbrbrbrPROPERTY AMENITIESbrbr- Private hot tub on the deckbrbr- Gas grill and furnished outdoor diningbrbr- Fully remodeled kitchen with dishwasher and microwavebrbr- High-speed WiFi (may be spotty in bad weather)brbr- Private washer/dryerbrbr- Dog-friendly with fully fenced yardbrbrbrbrGuest Access:brbrDrop into the private hot tub tucked among the trees, throw open the French doors, and cook under a knotty-pine ceiling running the main living areas. You've got the whole cottage, dogs welcome, with an enclosed yard, a BBQ, and outdoor dining on the deck. Grab the key from the lockbox out front; one passenger vehicle fits on the parking pad (no RVs or heavy trucks), with extra street parking on Drake Road.brbrbrbrThe Neighborhood:brbrYour cottage sits in a quiet hillside neighborhood just moments from Guerneville's best attractions. Walk 0.2 miles to The Farmhand for morning coffee and pastries, or drive 1.2 miles to downtown Guerneville's eclectic dining scene including boon eat + drink, Baked on the River, and the beloved Guerneville Taco Truck at Safeway. You're perfectly positioned for wine tasting — historic Korbel Winery is just 0.8 miles away, while acclaimed producers like Gary Farrell Vineyards (4.5 mi) and Porter Creek Vineyards (4.9 mi) dot nearby Westside Road. For outdoor adventures, the ancient redwoods of Armstrong Woods await 1.8 miles north, while Guerneville River Park and its summer swimming beaches are 1.2 miles south. Your four-legged friend will appreciate Bruno Farnocchia Dog Park just 0.7 miles away. Stock up on groceries at MD Liquor and Food (1.2 mi) or Safeway (1.4 mi).brbrbrbrGetting Around:brbrGuerneville is about 90 minutes from San Francisco via 101 and River Road — a scenic drive through vineyards and into the redwoods. You'll have two dedicated parking spaces directly in front of the cottage (passenger vehicles and SUVs only please — the structure cannot support RVs or heavy trucks). Additional parking is available at street level off Drake Road. A car makes the Russian River Valley easy to explore, from redwood trails to riverside wineries. Cell service gets patchy in the redwoods, so downloading offline maps before you arrive is worth it.brbrbrbrOther Things to Note:brbrThe high-speed internet (215 mbps) is generally reliable but can be spotty during severe weather — a gentle reminder that you're in the redwoods! While the cottage lacks air conditioning, it stays naturally cool thanks to the redwood canopy and elevation — ceiling fans and cross-ventilation through the French doors keep things comfortable even on warm days. Your dog (max 1, up to 45 lbs) will love the fully enclosed yard, though note that nearby Armstrong Redwoods only allows dogs in parking areas, not on trails. Bruno Farnocchia Dog Park (0.7 mi) offers a great alternative for off-leash play. The cottage's elevated design means climbing stairs to the main entrance — something to consider if mobility is a concern. The primary renter must be 21 or older. Take advantage of the multiple deck levels for different experiences throughout the day — morning coffee on the covered porch, lunch on the dining deck, afternoon soaks in the hot tub, and evening grilling on the barbecue deck.
