This is an area of mainly 5-acre parcels and unpaved roads. brbrNeighborhood hikingbrThe 640 or so acres across the street from the property are all held by the Mojave Desert Land Trust. MDLT property is accessible for hiking and trails are easily accessed by walking from the property. If you turn left out of the gate and walk back down La Contenta to Juarez there is a small trail/road off to the right (to the east) that leads to the hills. There is also a trail marker and sign just at the corner. You will see a few signs stating that its MDLT land and trails, just follow the signs. Lovely walk, easily accessed in minutes, desert wild life abounds…walk up the small rise and cross into a small valley and civilization disappears.brbrMinutes from Joshua Tree parkbrAbout 500 feet past the property is Covington Flat Rd., it provides access to an unpaved road portion of Joshua Tree National Park. The first few miles are MDLT property lined with Joshua Trees; a sign marks the “entrance” to the park. From there it’s a few miles to the Covington Flats picnic area, marked by a sign. If you continue on and head up the hill you reach Lower Covington Trail and eventually Eureka Peak.brbrThe dirt roads in Covington Flats offer access to some of the park’s largest Joshua trees, junipers, and pinyon pines. From Covington Flats picnic area to Eureka Peak is 3.8 miles (6.2 km) one way. The dirt road is steep near the end, but the top offers views of Palm Springs, the surrounding mountains, and the Morongo Basin. The hot tub, propane FirePit, the bbq grill and outdoor dining set are are all in once place in the shade at sunset which create a perfect entertainment in the evening. I do have 3 propane tanks but I do not provide propane. You may have to refill propane at Mesa Market which is 5 minutes away. brbrbrSleeping Arrangements.brEntire house was recently redone with Vacation Rental in mind. It is tastefully set up mid-century style with desert color choice. There are two bedrooms and each has queen size bed couch in the living room for 5th person. brbrInternet brWith work from anywhere environment these days, it is important to have a blazing fast internet. The speed I pay for is 400mbps. If Spectrum can deliver what I paid for, it should run pretty fast but I don’t have control over what spectrum can deliver. brbrEntertainment.brTV in the living room is a smart TV with Roku app which include Netflix and , YouTube TV with hundreds of cable channels. You will have plenty of apps to watch your show. There is a whole set pots and pans, knives, magic bullet blender, small kitchen tools like can opener, wine opener are all included in the house.
