Stayed Jan 17, 2026We had a great time and the location was beautiful, house was very nice, everything was very clean and there were plenty of towels and blankets, a bottle of wine left for us, a generally very pleasant arrival. One thing we noticed straight away though was that the stone patio in the backyard was VERY slippery. I’m sure in other seasons that’s probably less of an issue, but especially considering there’s a very large open section in the fence that faces out to a relatively sheer drop, and the edges of the stone were the most slippery part, that seemed like a bit of a safety concern for our dogs. There was also no mat at the back door, which would’ve been a nice thing to have especially in the wetter months where the backyard is as damp and slippery as it was. We were having to wipe up the floor constantly.It is also worth noting that while this is a pet friendly stay, something they did not mention in the online listing and we did not find out until we arrived and perused the binder, is that pets are not allowed on the furniture. It’s not an unreasonable rule, but it’s not how we’ve raised our dogs and was basically a full time job to enforce since they are not used to it. I respect their right to ask that but personally I would not have booked this spot if that had been communicated clearly.

Stayed Sep 8, 2017Very relaxed little cottage in a back road 5 min from Guernville, a nice patio space with a hot tub, a great place to relax away from the bay area! We hiked at Armstrong Redwoods and also went down to the beach by the Russian River.
