Whether that means you want to just come relax or go out and enjoy all the Pacific Northwest has to offer, there is something for everyone. Follow us on social media at @witsendretreat for photos and updates. brbrFor those who want to go outdoors, Wit's End Retreat is located about 11 minutes from the Nisqually entrance of Mount Rainier National Park (this entrance is open year round). We are less than 10 minutes from Alder Lake and only about a half a mile to 92 Road where you can take your off-road vehicles to the Elbe Hills trails. There is also a trail close to the cabin that you can follow down to the Nisqually River. If skiing or snowboarding is your thing, we are located about an hour and a half away from White Pass Ski Resort. The road in front of the cabin makes a great sledding hill when there is snow!brbrFollow the babbling sound of the seasonal creek to the deck in the front of the cabin. Relax in the new, covered hot tub and let the jets massage away your aches and pains. Please read hot tub rules before using. Unbreakable cups with lids are provided in the kitchen. A gas fire table and chairs are located next to the hot tub for outdoor dining as well as a Weber gas grill for outdoor cooking. Enjoy a cozy fire with friends and family. A fire pit, outdoor chairs, and a small amount of firewood is provided for your use when there is not a burn ban. If additional fire wood is needed, there are places nearby it can be purchased. Firewood will not be provided during a burn ban. brbrWit's End Retreat was recently remodeled and offers a fully stocked kitchen with a full size range, refrigerator, dishwasher, and peninsula for eating. In the kitchen you will also find a coffee bar stocked with a Keurig, french press, coffee, tea, cider, and hot cocoa. The kitchen contains pots, pans, utensils, basic spices, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar for all your cooking needs. Just bring the food! There is even a bluetooth speaker if you need some music around the cabin. brbrCozy up by the pellet stove and watch TV, play board games, or read. The Smart TV offers apps such as Netflix or Prime Video that you can log into. The full bathroom is located downstairs and contains a large, walk in shower as well as washer and dryer if you need to do any laundry. The vanity contains a first aid kit and a basket of some essentials if there is something you forgot to bring. brbrUpstairs you will find a cozy queen bed, dresser, and small pole for hanging clothes on one side. The other side contains a twin daybed with a trundle bed underneath that pulls out for a 2nd twin bed. Additional blankets are located in the blanket chest and baskets. There is also a 2nd Smart TV as well as board games, books, puzzles, legos, and coloring materials for children. Please note there are no doors between the sleeping areas.brbrThe cabin has a wall unit heat pump for heating and cooling, as well as an optional pellet stove. The temperature on the pellet stove can be controlled via the built in thermostat on the stove if you need to adjust it up or down. Please read the instructions provided in our book. It's possible you may need to refill the pellets if you choose to use it. Full size Kitchen has been updated with live edge slab oak counters, antiqued cabinets, dishwasher, microwave, range, fridge and dining table for 6. Hot tub set next to large entraining deck overlooking the water and Mt Rainier foot hills. Propane BBQ is ready for your grilling needs! Loaded with amenities , you will have everything you could need or want! Top bunk isn’t suited for adults. Hide a bed in living room is a full. Accessible year round with a hot tub under the trees, beautiful cedar slab railed deck with deck chairs for relaxing, picnic table, BBQ, custom cedar slab dart board, marshmallow roasting pit, horseshoe pits, and extra lawn chairs for enjoying the visiting deer and peaceful outdoors. This property backs up to 500+ acres of timbered National Forest that stretch up to a beautiful ridgeline that runs to Mt Wow.brbrBeautifully remodeled in 2006, this 1923 cabin still retains some of its rustic charm with age warbled glass pane windows, old stone fireplace with custom cedar slab mantle, and refinished hardwood floors. The gorgeous tiled bath includes a jetted tub and shower. This rustic cabin is heated with a wood stove insert with a gorgeous old stone fireplace and cedar slab mantle, plus in September 2021 we added a split pump so now have the choice of electric heat & air conditioning as well.brbrComfortable sleeping for up to 8 persons in three bedrooms and the living room. Main floor master bedroom has a super comfortable queen, the living room has a sofa that folds down into a small bed. Upstairs the bear cub room has a super comfortable queen and a single bed with a memory foam topper for extra comfort. There is an additional separate loft with a full-size memory foam futon mattress. All linens are provided and are luxurious 500+ thread count sheets, with cozy blankets & comforters or quilts on every bed. There are a total of 2 queens, 1 full futon, 1 smaller sofa futon, and 1 single beds. Linens are replaced often so may not match photos.brbrThe main living area is a shared living room, dining area, and kitchen area. The dining table has an extra leaf in the closet next to the bathroom, unless the last group added it to the table already. There are 8 chairs around the table. The living portion has a sofa that makes down into a smaller full-size bed. There is also a couple of chairs. The kitchen area has a full-size fridge & range, microwave, toaster, coffee pot, coffee grinder, waffle iron, crock pot, instapot, can opener & blender. There are also kitchen utensils, pots/pans, bake ware, plates, cups, glasses, bowls, silverware, etc.brbrIf traveling in winter, Mt Rainier National Park requires all vehicles carry chains into the park. This mountain cabin sits at 2000' elevation in the Cascade Mountain range, so may or may not have snow accumulation at any time between November and April depending on storm systems. The highway is plowed often so access to the cabin driveway is kept clear. The driveway has an incline, so some years once in a while during heavy snow systems, guests may prefer to park at the bottom of the driveway if not in a 4-wheel or all-wheel drive vehicle. brbrIn the mountains, power outages are common and can occur for a few minutes to a few hours at any time of year. We try to keep this cabin stocked with flashlights and candles. Additionally, we have added battery-operated lightbulbs in the Owl's roost lamp, Bear cub room lamp, and the light fixture above the bench in the mud room. They only work in single light bulb fixtures. They have about an 8-hour charge if the power goes out. Also, there are a few push button battery operated mini-lights throughout the cabin as well.brbrDue to a severe allergy, dogs are not allowed in our cabin.
