Dog Friendly! Wrangle In--A Block Above Downtown Winthrop!

Winthrop, Washington, United States

This dog friendly house( legal, licensed nightly rental with a current Okanogan County health permit as required by law) was built in 1955 and retains that old mid-century charm. The upstairs bedrooms feature the ever-so-popular 50's knotty pine paneling. The living room is cozy with a coffered ceiling. The stairs are narrow and steep with a handrail. The kitchen has been modernized, but still maintains some of the sense of Grandma's house. Out back', through the back door is a deck on the north side of the house, with picnic tables and Weber gas BBQ.brbrRecently, the house has been refreshed and updated. Gardens and lawns are being nurtured. Fresh paint. New furniture and beds. The whole works. The housekeeper recently told us that she used to live here 15 years ago, and her recollection was of a vegetable garden in the back yard. Perhaps that may get restored with her help. Meanwhile there is a sense of pride here.brbrThe main floor has a shared living room and dining table. Kitchen is on the right, with a laundry area behind the kitchen and passage way to the rear. There is a larger queen bedroom and full bath on the main floor. Up the stairs are two dormer bedrooms and 3/4 bath.brbrINTERNET POLICY:br**We strive to provide the best internet service we can get here in the very rural Methow Valley. Great for beating the crowds and snagging a trailhead parking spot at peak seasons.brbrGetting Around:brGetting Here: May to November, from Seattle and the westside, you can drive over State Route 20 and Washington Pass (check WSDOT for closures). Alternate, and winter routes from Seattle are via I90, Snoqualmie Pass and Bluett Pass, or via highway 2 over Stevens Pass (check WSDOT for driving conditions). Winthrop, Washington, United States

Dog Friendly, Northwest Nights(a legal, licensed nightly rental with a current Okanogan County health permit as required by law) is an original 1920 Winthrop house. Very convenient...close to Winthrop's new library, the Barnyard Cinema, our outdoor refrigerated ice rink (the only one in Washington) and our local eateries.brbrLike a lot of old farm houses, you enter the house from the back porch and the kitchen. The living room and dining area are 'out front'. A King bedroom, a Queen bedroom, and bath are just off the living room. The furnishings are comfortable as well as charming. The kitchen has old fashioned charm and is cozy and welcoming. Well behaved pets are welcome.brbrEXTREMELY IMPORTANT YEAR ROUND TRAVEL INFORMATION--READ BEFORE BOOKING A RESERVATION:br1)It is the responsibility of the guest to have travel plans in place to travel either over the North Cascades via Highway 20 OR to travel over Steven's Pass through Leavenworth OR to travel I-90 over Snoqualmie to Blewett Pass through Wenatchee and then up the Columbia river to the Methow Valley. If one route is closed, it is the YOUR responsibility to make alternate plans for travel. NO REFUNDS will be given at any time of the year simply because an alternate route must be taken and add additional travel time. Highway 20 is closed in the winter and mountain passes can be closed anytime of the year because of wildfires, rockslides or other occurrences. Directions over all the routes will be sent to. you 3 days before your arrival. Make sure to check pass reports(and they can change while you are en route) and print out the directions before you leave. brbr2)Trail Access/Closure Information: brIf you are coming to hike, bike, or ski on a trail or system of trails which happen to be closed before or during your stay, NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN because of this. Trail closures can occur anytime because of fire, rockslides, mud flows...and we have no control over this. There are many hiking, biking trails of various kinds in the Methow Valley. If access to the North Cascades National Park is closed via Hwy 20 for any reason, NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN because of this. There are a number of beautiful hikes, in and around our valley, that we would be happy to recommend.brbrINTERNET POLICYbr**We strive to provide the best internet service we can get here in the very rural Methow Valley. Internet speeds vary throughout the valley and outages or tech issues can occur that we have no control over, and for these reasons NO REFUNDS are given if the internet is problematic. We also do not guarantee that the internet will meet your work/school needs. Should you have an issue with internet service, please send us a message through VRBO describing the problem. We will then contact you to troubleshoot. If the issue is not resolved, we will then contact the internet provider, and/or homeowner. Please note... our valley is very rural and getting service personnel to fix things in a timely manner can be a challenge. We rent lodging, not office space.brbrPublic internet is available at the Winthrop library with enhanced internet speed (parking lot or inside the library). Alternatively, for a fee you can go to the Dropzone in downtown Winthrop. Thank you for your understanding!brbrIMPORTANT WINTER INFORMATION POLICY :br**Should you travel to the Methow during the winter months it is important to understand that you must be prepared for winter driving(keep chains, shovel...in the car) and all the inconveniences it causes you and the community you are visiting. The weather can be extreme with large snowfalls, unexpected technical issues, frozen pipes, impassable roads/driveways). If it snows while here you will have to wait for plow service just like every other person in the valley. There are a limited number of plow companies and Methow Reservations nor the owners of the house are in control of the plow company schedules. They have many different contracts and many miles of roads, driveways...to plow. If a plow person or a snow shoveler shows up to clear any area around the house, please do not argue with them or turn them away. Move your vehicles if asked. Your cooperation and patience are required especially after any significant snow accumulation. Should you get stuck you can call Classic Towing in Twisp, WAbrbr**WEATHER CONDITIONS**brbrWe cannot be responsible for weather conditions. If you will be arriving during the winter, please be sure you have proper equipment for driving in the snow, and carry tire chains for driving over the passes. Our local roads are always kept open and in good condition for winter travel. There are no refunds for road closures; however, if both Stevens and Snoqualmie mountain passes are closed for more than eight hours and the closures prohibit you from reaching the property, you may reschedule your stay for an arrival within three months of the pass closures. Please note that the North Cascades Pass is always closed during winter.
