Please note: This is a 30 Day+ rental only. brLewisia Lodge is a beautiful, cozy house (2700 sq. ft.) designed by a local architect situated on 10 acres of one of the most beautiful pieces of Methow Valley Riverfront. The property is all riverfront....and this section of the river includes one of the best swimming and fishing holes anywhere in the area. (It's featured in the book, Best Swimming Holes In Washington State.) The house is perfect for families, small intimate gatherings of friends, or large groups. We have also hosted several weddings on the property. The house sleeps 15, (if you count the outdoor sleeping porches), (which by the way, are fabulous), and the open layout is perfect for a lot of people to relax comfortably. The upstairs loft sleeps 8 people comfortably. It is separated into 2 large semi-private sections. In one section, there is one queen bed and 2 twins, and in the other, there are 2 queens and 1 twin. On the property, overlooking the swimming and fishing hole, there is a gazebo (with a queen bed) and deck built right out over the river for lounging, entertaining and cocktails. Just below the gazebo is a perfect place to tube the river. We have some inner tubes in the barn. The house is surrounded on all sides by decks and in front of the house, right on the river, is a huge, beautifully mowed lawn for playing games like volleyball, croquet and soccer. (The house is fully stocked with games for the outdoors and board games and movies for cozy winter nights.) It is filled with cozy spots (2 big window seats) to cozy up on, and the focal point of the living room is a huge, beautiful stone fireplace. The house is fully stocked with wood and kindling. In the winter, the area is covered in ample snow and you can ski or snowshoe right out your front door. (We have 6 pairs of snowshoes for your use.) This is one of the most charming places you will ever stay. The upstairs bedrooms feature the ever-so-popular 50's knotty pine paneling. The living room is cozy with a coffered ceiling. The stairs are narrow and steep with a handrail. The kitchen has been modernized, but still maintains some of the sense of Grandma's house. The kitchen is on the right, with a laundry area behind the kitchen and passage way to the rear. When it was built there was a dirt road in front, and the river just beyond. For the last 30 years it has been a Chiropractic office....and now recently carefully renovated to be a 2 bedroom, 1 bath nightly rental...with easy ski trail access...walk to the Susie Stephens Trail, and everything else Winthrop. Very convenient...close to Winthrop's new library, the Barnyard Cinema, our outdoor refrigerated ice rink (the only one in Washington) and our local eateries.brbrLike a lot of old farm houses, you enter the house from the back porch and the kitchen. The living room and dining area are 'out front'. A King bedroom, a Queen bedroom, and bath are just off the living room. The furnishings are comfortable as well as charming. A BEND IN THE RIVER LODGE offers spacious room and privacy on a bucolic 5-acre Chewuch River setting 4 miles outside of the Town of Winthrop. The Lodge is a great home base for outdoor enthusiasts, with hiking, mountain biking, cross-country skiing nearby. brbrThe Lodge 2-bedroom option sleeps up to 7 persons and offers two bathrooms, one en-suite and one common bathroom. Hair dryers and Everyone 3 in 1 Shampoo, Body Wash,/Bubble Bath are provided.brbrThe Lodge has an exceptionally well-equipped kitchen which provides everything you need to cook a feast. We provide salt and whole black peppercorns. Okanogan County Public Health restricts the provision of other cooking staples such as oil and spices. We also provide paper towels, paper napkins, dish detergent, laundry detergent, plastic wrap, aluminum foil, paper facial tissues and toilet paper. The key replacement fee is $15.00.br-Park only in the two-car carport of your reserved home. No boats, campers or trailers are allowed without prior permission.br-Respect quiet time between 9 pm and 7 am.br-No unregistered guests are allowed overnight. During warm weather, there is a shared outdoor space that can be reserved for small gatherings. No larger parties or events are allowed unless you are reserving the entire resort and these plans are prearranged with the hosts. br-Smoking of any kind is not allowed anywhere on the premises.br-No illegal substances or firearms are allowed on the premises. br-No fires are allowed. Outdoor grill only in the designated area.br-Before departure please clean up the kitchen, do your dishes, start the dishwasher and place all used towels in the basket in the laundry room. See the copy of the manual in the rental house for more details.br-Regularly take out the trash and recycling, especially before your departure.br-Do not remove any linens or supplies from the secured storage containers or the cabinet in the laundry room; please ask if you need anything to make your stay complete and comfortable.br-Do not eat or drink in the bedrooms; stains or damage will be assessed accordingly.br-Take care of the furnishings. Do not rearrange the beds without host help, as the floors may be damaged. Guests have to pay for damages that exceed the security deposit.br-Please be conscious of synthetic fragrances and perfumes; they can be difficult to remove from linens, towels, and furniture.br-Please set the thermostat-controlled heat and A/C with attention to energy conservation and keep the doors and windows closed when heating and cooling. Keep lights to a minimum at night. brbr-We have replacement linens in the utility room for the next visitors. Everything is carefully counted and sorted for our efficiency. Please do not open the bins. If you need anything additional please contact us.brbr-Please wash your clothes with the fragrant-free detergent provided. Instructions are in the house manual and with the machine. You may dry your towels in the dryer to help reduce washing.brbr-Pet Fees/Agreement: We allow up to two appropriate dogs per house. 1-2 dogs = $100.00. If booking through another method, please message the hosts as soon as you have booked. You will find the pet agreement in your welcome email from the hosts and in the house manual in your rental house.br-Houses are suitable for toddlers and children. Let us know if you need to borrow child items like high chairs, play-n-pack, outlet covers, etc. There are child-friendly dishes in the house.br-Turn off unnecessary in and outdoor lights to conserve energy and the night sky. Conserve energy by making sure the windows and doors are closed when heating and cooling.br-100% Cotton Bathrobes are provided for use during your stay. There is a $10.00 rental fee. This 1895 historic building built for the Town of Winthrop’s founder, Guy Waring, has been remodeled to provide stylish comfort for overnight guests. Located on the boardwalk in downtown Winthrop, you are within walking distance to restaurants, boutiques, gift shopping, wine bars, taprooms and more. The fully air-conditioned living accommodations include the entire second and third floor of this historic building.brbrThe Rendezvous Suite is a two-bedroom, and loft apartment, that has a private entrance to part of the second and the entire third floor of the rear addition to the historic Guy Waring building. A set of outdoor steps lead to a north-facing deck, with BBQ. The living area, kitchen, and bath are on the 'main' second-story floor, while sleeping accommodations are upstairs, and include a private bedroom with a queen size bed, and a separate dormer nook with a twin bed. Sleeps 3. Entertainment areas include a living room with a big screen smart TV, and a full kitchen for all your gourmet needs.brbrA complimentary 30 Ampfast Car Charging Station is located near the two off-street parking places provided.brbrEXTREMELY IMPORTANT YEAR ROUND TRAVEL INFORMATION--READ BEFORE BOOKING A RESERVATION:br1)It is the responsibility of the guest to have travel plans in place to travel either over the North Cascades via Highway 20 OR to travel over Steven's Pass through Leavenworth OR to travel I-90 over Snoqualmie to Blewett Pass through Wenatchee and then up the Columbia river to the Methow Valley. If one route is closed, it is the YOUR responsibility to make alternate plans for travel. NO REFUNDS will be given at any time of the year simply because an alternate route must be taken and add additional travel time. Highway 20 is closed in the winter and mountain passes can be closed anytime of the year because of wildfires, rockslides or other occurrences. Directions over all the routes will be sent to. you 3 days before your arrival. Make sure to check pass reports(and they can change while you are en route) and print out the directions before you leave. brbr2)Trail Access/Closure Information: brIf you are coming to hike, bike, or ski on a trail or system of trails which happen to be closed before or during your stay, NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN because of this. Trail closures can occur anytime because of fire, rockslides, mud flows...and we have no control over this. There are many hiking, biking trails of various kinds in the Methow Valley. If access to the North Cascades is closed via Hwy 20 for any reason, NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN because of this. There are beautiful hikes in and around our valley that we would be happy to recommend.brbrINTERNET POLICY..PLEASE NOTE:br**We strive to provide the best internet service we can get here in the very rural Methow Valley. Internet speeds vary throughout the valley and outages or tech issues can occur that we have no control over, and for these reasons NO REFUNDS are given if the internet is problematic. We also do not guarantee that the internet will meet your work/school needs. Should you have an issue with internet service, please send us a message through VRBO describing the problem. We will then contact you to troubleshoot. If the issue is not resolved, we will then contact the internet provider, and/or homeowner. Please note... our valley is very rural and getting service personnel to fix things in a timely manner can be a challenge. We rent lodging, not office space. brbrPublic internet is available at the Winthrop library with enhanced internet speed (parking lot or inside the library). Alternatively, for a fee you can go to the Dropzone in downtown Winthrop. Thank you for your understanding!brbrIMPORTANT WINTER INFORMATION :br**Should you travel to the Methow during the winter months it is important to understand that you must be prepared for winter driving(keep chains, shovel...in the car) and all the inconveniences it causes you and the community you are visiting. The weather can be extreme with large snowfalls, unexpected technical issues, frozen pipes, impassable roads/driveways). If it snows while here you will have to wait for plow service just like every other person in the valley. There are a limited number of plow companies and Methow Reservations nor the owners of the house are in control of the plow company schedules. They have many different contracts and many miles of roads, driveways...to plow. If a plow person or a snow shoveler shows up to clear any area around the house, please do not argue with them or turn them away. Move your vehicles if asked.
