Hicks County Park. This is a very easy and enjoyable 5-10 minute walk from our house, on which you're sure to see some of our local wildlife: resident eagles, osprey, otters, seals, and many different species of birds. Of course, you may drive to the park if you prefer. There is parking available. However, the walk is absolutely beautiful! Please see our Guide Book for additional beaches.brbrPool & Hot Tub:brThe indoor pool is absolutely heavenly! The temperature inside the pool room is typically between 75-80 degrees, depending on the time of year. The pool is salt water and heated to 85 degrees year round. There is no extra charge for heating the pool! The pool is 40 feet long by 10 feet wide; the shallow end is just 3.5 feet; and the deep end is 6 feet. There are several beautiful tropical plants inside the pool room that will make you forget you're even in the Pacific Northwest! There's also a sitting area with a smart TV for watching movies or listening to music while you're swimming or relaxing. You will have beautiful water views while relaxing in the pool, which makes it an ideal location for viewing sunsets or sunrises. The pool room also has curtains for privacy. brThe hot tub is just outside of the home, next to the pool room, underneath a pergola. The hot tub faces the bay, and in some of the seats, you can get a view of the Olympic Mountains. The hot tub has built in speakers and blue tooth capability. The pergola has sheer curtains for limited privacy.brbrKitchen:brThe kitchen is stocked with all of the basic necessities to meet your dining needs. The kitchen comes equipped with the following items: Vitamix blender, Kitchenaid mixer, Instapot, Keurig Coffee maker, Tea press, Wine cooler, built in microwave, induction range, air fryer, and two toasters. We also have a Samsung Touchscreen Smart Refrigerator with filtered water and ice dispenser. The dining table is a 9 foot rough hewn pedestal table with 6 white leather chairs. There is also a live edge bar made of Moabi wood from Madagascar, that looks out to the pool room, as well as more seating at the island counter across from the stove. brbrBedrooms:brTwo bedrooms are located on the main floor. Bedroom one has an ensuite and a king-sized bed. Bedroom two has a queen bed, and the 2nd bathroom is next to it. Bedroom three is located upstairs and also has a king bed. There is a loft also located upstairs. Please note that there are no bathrooms located upstairs. There are extra pillows and extra blankets if needed. Bedrooms two and three have ceiling fans. There are portable fans available if needed. You'll be two miles down the road from Shine Tidelands State Park, a great place for fishing, harvesting shellfish, birding, kayaking, and walking the beach. The small town of Port Ludlow is six miles north, where you'll find the marina, the Port Ludlow Golf Club, and the Village Market for your convenience. And if you're looking to explore this lovely part of the Olympic Peninsula even further, you'll find the charming Victorian town of Port Townsend only 22 miles north.brbrThings to KnowbrThe Internet has been known to be intermittent, due to the area and provider. The house offers 270 deg. unobstructed waterfront views. A secluded setting with a large green belt on one side and a house set back from visibility on the other. Sit in the solarium and watch the eagles fly right overhead or fish in the water below you while drinking your morning espresso from our machine.brbrYou'll enjoy unobstructed views of Puget Sound, the Cascade mountains and Mt. Baker from virtually every room in the house. Watch the ever changing activity of cruise ships, sailboats, tankers or an occasional nuclear submarine from our large deck or our cozy solarium. The natural planted landscaped yard is designed for the enjoyment of the wildlife, privacy and easy maintenance and features a tranquil pond and natural woodland setting. We leave plants with seeds for the wildlife to feed through the winter. There is a trail behind the house leading down to the beach. At low tide enjoy a walk exploring over a mile of beach, dig for clams or just sit on a log and relax next to a beach fire. brWe also have three, two-man kayaks (in summer only) and a 4- man inflatable boat. Want to do some foraging We have crab pots and clamming tools for your enjoyment. We have Geoducks!!! Or just kick back on the large deck or in the solarium and watch the deer and racoons wander through the yard any given day or watch the eagles soaring above fishing the waters on our beach below. Many birds stop by for a drink from our pond just outside of the solarium. There is a small patio on the south side of the house to savor the late afternoon sun and the view while lounging in our outdoor living room with a glass of wine. Cushions and pillows are stored just to the left side of the man door to the garage.brbrThe fully equipped kitchen has a 5-burner professional gas cook top, double ovens and large side-by-side refrigerator, (We have a second full size refrigerator in the laundry room next to the pantry for your box store shopping trips.) There are beautiful granite slab countertops, and a view that makes cooking a real pleasure. Or you can pull up a bar stool to the eating counter and grab a quick snack. Fine dining is minutes away at several of our favorite restaurants if you aren't in the mood for cooking.brbrThe living room has a stone wall with a gas fireplace and a 55 Samsung Smart TV. Snuggle up on the comfy sofas in front of the fireplace and enjoy great conversation, a good book or a glass of wine. Or, simply admire the beauty of the view.brbrThe master bedroom has a large walk-in closet, a king sized bed and 12' sliding glass doors that open to the deck. Lie in bed and enjoy the electric fireplace in the evening and see the cruise ships heading back to port. Or if you're an early riser, watch the sun rise over the Cascade Mts. Master bath vanity has double sink with granite slab counter top, spa-like shower with double shower heads, and like almost everywhere in this home, incredible water and mountain views!brbrBedroom 2 has queen sized bed and a garden view. (The only room in the house without ocean and mountain views.)brbrBedroom 3 is very large with queen bed (and available space for our queen, double high air bed available for those groups looking for a couple more sleeping spots). Glass doors open to the deck. Relax with a cup of coffee at the bistro table with four chairs and view the marvelous water and mountain views or the turn on the electric fireplace for added enjoyment . brbrBedroom 4 is in our second floor loft. It has a queen bed as well as a convertible double sofa bed. brbrWe have a private office area in the loft with its own spectacular views equipped with a desk, ergonomic chair and office basics supplies (if you really need to do some work).brbrThe house is beautifully furnished and tastefully decorated in a Nautical theme to make your stay feel extra special and comfortable.brbrThe soft breezes from the water below make grilling and dining, on the deck table a real pleasure.brbrSeveral comfortable lounge chairs are also provided on the deck. Try to spot the seals and otters on the rocks below with the telescopes and binoculars provided or just marvel at the incredible view. There is another patio with lounge sectional outdoor furniture at the south end of the yard to enjoy the afternoon sun and Happy Hour.brbrFrom Port Ludlow hook up to the Bainbridge ferry to Seattle and tour the waterfront and famous Pike Place Market or drive about 1.5 hrs to Port Angeles and take the ferry to Victoria B.C. and spend the day in that charming city. Add a visit to the world famous Butchart Gardens in B.C. Also Whidbey Island, Hurricane Ridge, the Olympic Rain Forest, Ocean Beaches, Poulsbo, Sequim (with its lavender festival) and Historic Port Townsend and/or Port Gamble are great day trips. brbrHistoric Port Townsend is about 25 minutes away with antique shops, many talented artists offering their wares and lots of charming shops. Farmer's Markets are held every Saturday during the spring and summer. Visit Bremerton and tour the naval shipyards or the Undersea Naval Museum in Keyport. brbrThere are many options if you are adventurous. Parasailing and miles of Mt Bike trails and hiking rails. Or, you may want to stay close by and hike the local trails. It is a short walk to the marina to look at the boats, rent a bicycle, kayak or fishing boat. You can also charter a sail boat. If you want a bit more exercise, we provide two sets of golf clubs, four tennis rackets and 4 pickle ball rackets and balls. Several great courses and courts are close by.brbrAnother option is to stop by the Inn at Port Ludlow next to the marina and have a glass of wine or dinner. There is a bar and a large covered porch overlooking the marina. 35 minutes from our house you can get onto the Olmpic Peninsula bike trail. Ranked in Top 5 bike trails in the US!brbrThis lovely home is a perfect place for a romantic get-away, retreat, honeymoon or family gathering. There is a small trash can in the bathroom next to the toilet.brbrWe are not responsible for any mechanical failure or malfunction of TV, internet, appliances, air conditioning/heat, water heater etc. Guests agree to report all malfunctions or any items that may have broke to us immediately. We will make every reasonable effort to make repairs quickly and replace broken items. In the bathroom - NO wipes, Tampons, sanitary pads, Kleenex, cotton balls, make-up remover wipes, cleaning wipes, Q-tips, wrappers, pills, condoms, DRAINO, bleach or any other substance other than toilet tissue and bodily waste may go in the toilet.brKitchen: No kitchen scraps down the drain, as there is no garbage disposal. All food on dishes and grease in pans must be scraped into the trash prior to washing. brbrDue to recent fires and dry weather, there may be occasions where there is a County-wide mandatory ban on all outdoor burning including fire pits and charcoal grills. In this case the owner will inform the guest to comply for safety reasons. Absolutely NO Fireworks allowed at any time. No compensation will be made as this is outside of the owners control. Additionally, no refunds/compensation will be made due to adverse weather, rain, storms, snow, wind, fire, etc. If this is a concern, we highly suggest purchasing trip insurance. brbrIn the event of a power outage, battery-powered lantern's will be provided to tide you through until power is restored. Do not use candles to illuminate the barn house. No compensation will be made that is outside of the Owner’s control; however, the Owner will make every attempt to rectify any problems that may occur. We do have a generator that we can hook up for select appliances if needed.brbrWe have wildlife in the area! Bears, cougars, deer, coyotes, bobcats, raccoons, squirrels, field mice, Barred Owls, bats, Bald Eagles, seagulls , crows, bluejays, etc; ticks and assorted insects. Please keep the door to the barn house closed, and no food left outside overnight. There is a trash can inside the barn stall area if you need to dispose of extra trash, but please keep the sliding barn door closed at all times. We also advise that you take out all food from your vehicle and keep car doors locked, since bears know how to get inside cars! FYI- we have NOT thus far had any visits or incidents with bears here on our property but they are definitely in the area. brbrGuests will not engage in any illegal trade or activity on or about the Owner’s property. Additionally, no guest may run a business or trade on the owners property. brbrNo third-party bookings allowed. No exceptions. Guests must be 25 yrs old or older. If you live locally, you must disclose in your inquiry before booking. Local bookings will be considered at owner’s discretion. brbrWe do not rent long-term. This is strictly a short-term rental. Ten days maximum is what we will accept. brbrThe Guest is hearby advised and understands that the personal property of guests is not insured by the owner for either damages or loss and the owner assumes no liability for any such loss.brbrWe often have back to back bookings with Guests leaving in the morning and new guests arriving in the afternoon on the same day.
