The Lake is located in the middle of vast timberlands on the edge of the Olympic National Forest and was an integral part of the early days of logging. We who are lucky enough to live here feel blessed that our piece of paradise is far enough away from the bustle of the state capital Olympia, but close enough to take advantage of the many amenities available in the more urban areas.brLake Nahwatzel is home to eagles and osprey, deer and elk, beavers and otters and everything in between. Though summer is the time most people think of summer activities like swimming, kayaking and fishing, winter has it's own charm when the swans, shorebirds and other migrating birds arrive. Winter is quiet, serene and peaceful, you can imagine the rest of the world no longer exists. In the spring, if you are lucky, you will hear the haunting call of the loon.brbrNahwatzel Lake is open year-round for fishing, and is stocked each spring and fall exclusively with larger rainbow trout averaging a pound a piece.
