Guests also have access to private deck (we may be passing through side yard to pick from the garden. Please help yourself to the herbs!).brbrWe live upstairs and should be available for the most part during your visit. We like our privacy and will respect yours as well, but we love chatting if you see us around! If you would like input on local information or need directions or just a good old fashioned chat, don't hesitate to let us know.brbrWe love that you'll be vacationing in part of our home. You may see him join us for a dog walk, or see us poking around the yard.brbrWe live in a super quiet neighborhood within a mile of downtown White Salmon that allows you to refresh and recharge yourself after a busy day on the water or on the trails. We face south-west and therefore have brighter days than our poor neighbors in Hood River. (We know they are jealous.)brbrJust feet from the property is our local Loop Trail that is great for a bike ride and for running. We have blackberry patches in the neighborhood that are super handy (and yummy) in the summer time. Help yourself. brbrJust down the road (walking distance if you like a good stretch of the legs) we have Henni's, Pixan, Everybody's Brewing, FEAST deli, Pizza Leona, and Gander and Goose. There are several places to get coffee, give yourself ample time to wait in line in the morning, it’s popular for a reason! Lots of places to try local wines and beer, our favorite tasting room and the closest is CLYZM in the new Hotel Iconica. There is also LDT wines, and Soca wine shop. We have a market - Harvest Market (decent size and good variety that you'd find in all of your larger city chain markets, but wine and liquor is cheaper to buy across the river if you find yourself on that side). We provide coffee beans and tea selections for your stay.

Hood River is about 20 minutes (10 miles) away - just a short hop across the Hood River toll bridge ($3.50)*. It's a restful country retreat or a practical home-base for your Gorge adventures or business travel. It's a quiet spot great for relaxing and as a home-base for Gorge adventures, but if you want to be in the thick of things or you want more immediate access to the river and main highway, it's probably not the best choice. The 2 twin beds are listed as beds in the 3rd bedroom, but are actually located in the loft. One is located about 200ft due east and the other is located about 350 feet west of our building. brbrBut most of our guests prefer to use the free street parking right next to the building. brbrThere is a mini-split unit that provides heat and AC. The mini-split is located in the living room. The bedrooms do not have AC, but do have fans.brbrThere is a shared laundry room in the building. The 18-sided, custom-built, and beautifully furnished yurt has space to sleep a total of four guests and is a wonderful option for couples or small families. The unique yurt took two years to construct and is the perfect choice for guests hoping to enjoy a peaceful vacation thanks to the stunning rural setting of the property. brbr brbrThere are two double beds provided, both of which are dressed in comfortable linens to help guests sleep well. Also inside the yurt, guests will find a private bathroom with a roll-in shower with a seat, and there are other facilities with transfer provisions to make the rental wheelchair-friendly. Glampers will find a well-stocked kitchen area in the property, where there are plenty of helpful utensils to ensure that meals are no hassle. In addition, glampers will love the wood-burning stove that keeps the rental toasty warm during the winter months. brbr brbrOutside, guests can enjoy soaking in the views on offer from the deck, which is a great place to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning sunshine, or a bottle of wine in the evening.
