The mountains are calling! Escape to Wit's End Retreat. Close proximity to Elbe, 92 Road, Alder Lake, and only 11 minutes to Mt. Rainier National Park. This remodeled cabin features all of the creature comforts of home but is located in a quiet, peaceful setting. Property features a brand new, covered hot tub, full kitchen, WiFi, W/D, smart TV, covered outdoor seating, fire pit, and more. Wit's End Retreat is the perfect place to explore the PNW or simply stay in, relax, and recharge.

We designed Wit's End Retreat to be a place where people can come to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Whether that means you want to just come relax or go out and enjoy all the Pacific Northwest has to offer, there is something for everyone. Follow us on social media at @witsendretreat for photos and updates.

For those who want to go outdoors, Wit's End Retreat is located about 11 minutes from the Nisqually entrance of Mount Rainier National Park (this entrance is open year round). We are less than 10 minutes from Alder Lake and only about a half a mile to 92 Road where you can take your off-road vehicles to the Elbe Hills trails. There is also a trail close to the cabin that you can follow down to the Nisqually River. If skiing or snowboarding is your thing, we are located about an hour and a half away from White Pass Ski Resort. The road in front of the cabin makes a great sledding hill when there is snow!

Follow the babbling sound of the seasonal creek to the deck in the front of the cabin. Relax in the new, covered hot tub and let the jets massage away your aches and pains. Please read hot tub rules before using. Unbreakable cups with lids are provided in the kitchen. A gas fire table and chairs are located next to the hot tub for outdoor dining as well as a Weber gas grill for outdoor cooking. Enjoy a cozy fire with friends and family. A fire pit, outdoor chairs, and a small amount of firewood is provided for your use when there is not a burn ban. If additional fire wood is needed, there are places nearby it can be purchased. Firewood will not be provided during a burn ban.

Wit's End Retreat was recently remodeled and offers a fully stocked kitchen with a full size range, refrigerator, dishwasher, and peninsula for eating. In the kitchen you will also find a coffee bar stocked with a Keurig, french press, coffee, tea, cider, and hot cocoa. The kitchen contains pots, pans, utensils, basic spices, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar for all your cooking needs. Just bring the food! There is even a bluetooth speaker if you need some music around the cabin.

Cozy up by the pellet stove and watch TV, play board games, or read. The Smart TV offers apps such as Netflix or Prime Video that you can log into. The full bathroom is located downstairs and contains a large, walk in shower as well as washer and dryer if you need to do any laundry. The vanity contains a first aid kit and a basket of some essentials if there is something you forgot to bring.

Upstairs you will find a cozy queen bed, dresser, and small pole for hanging clothes on one side. The other side contains a twin daybed with a trundle bed underneath that pulls out for a 2nd twin bed. Additional blankets are located in the blanket chest and baskets. There is also a 2nd Smart TV as well as board games, books, puzzles, legos, and coloring materials for children. Please note there are no doors between the sleeping areas.

The cabin has a wall unit heat pump for heating and cooling, as well as an optional pellet stove. The temperature on the pellet stove can be controlled via the built in thermostat on the stove if you need to adjust it up or down. Please read the instructions provided in our book. It's possible you may need to refill the pellets if you choose to use it. Additional pellets are located in the can next to the pellet stove.
Wit's End Retreat is not responsible for any personal injury or property damage and you are waiving all liability by booking with us. Please exercise caution while at the cabin. The deck and stairs outside can become slippery in freezing conditions. We want you to have an amazing time during your stay!

4WD or chains are highly recommended during snowy or icy conditions. Refunds will not be issued on last minute cancellations due to weather.

Had a great time. Host let us check in a little early which was nice, otherwise didn't need to communicate with the host during our stay as we had everything we needed and everything we could even think about needing. The property and cabin were well maintained. The stairs to the loft are a little narrow so had to be careful going up and down. Overall a great trip!

Our stay at wits end retreat was absolutely perfect. The host was extremely communicative and quick to respond. The location was just a few minutes from Mt. Rainer and between two towns. The place itself was clean and fully stocked with dishes, pots, pans and every spice you would need. The hot tub was well maintained and perfect after a long day of hiking. We especially loved cozying up to the pellet stove with a glass of wine at night. If I were in the area again I would stay again but for longer.

Great location near the Nisqaully entrance to the park, nestled between two cute (very) small towns Ashford and Elbe. The trail behind the cabin leads to a magnificent view of the Nisqually River valley. The cabin itself was spotless inside and out. Our family of four had a wonderful time grilling, hanging by the firepit, cooking breakfast in the updated kitchen, and the kids loved the hot tub. Every creature comfort that I could imagine was available in the cabin - coffee, laundry, soft bedding, stocked personal items. The communication with the owner was so easy and friendly. Wonderful experience.

My family scheduled an Alaskan cruise and decided to fly in a couple of days early to go to the park. This property is as advertised. It is a good distance from the park and within 20 minutes from a small town to go to a grocery store. The owners themselves provided household products that made everything nice also. We all enjoyed our few days here and are looking forward to coming back.

This cabin exceeded our expectations in every way. The pictures do not do it justice. The inside is spotless. The kitchen has everything..including some coffee, creamer etc if you forgot anything. Bathroom same..even an extra too rush ;new) in case you forgot. Bed was really comply. The pellet stove kept the whole place, nice and toasty. Every kind of game you remember from your childhood Lincoln logs included. Of course there is the outside amazing, hot tub, fire pit, and all the lights that come on instantaneously at sundown. A the feeling of peace & solitude away from the city is .amazing . A short entrance to the Mount Rainier entrance.. Wow, absolutely Incredible in every way. We loved it

The location was great. We think it was the best hot tub we had ever used. So nice after a full day of hiking. The bedroom is upstairs and the bathroom downstairs. This was difficult to navigate in the dark if you have to make several trips/night.

We would stay here again hands down. It was very clean and looked like the pictures! We loved the fire pit and hot tub, and they have the home stocked well with necessities. Only about 10 minutes from park entrance, so we found it to be a very convenient location if you are staying outside the park. Very picturesque, beautiful, and relaxing!

The little cabin is very clean! Including the jacuzzi and outdoor table area. The owner pays attention to details. We’ve stayed for a weekend, didn’t go out too much cause it was raining, so we spend most of our time in the cabin. Everything worked out great,

This place was incredibly clean and quiet. There are neighbors but they’re beyond the trees so it still felt very private. The creek was dry since it was mid-summer but the hot tub was perfect. The place is stocked insanely well with everything anyone could ever need. Lovely place.

The property is part rustic cabin part luxury spa. Great location to explore Mt. Rainier NP during the day, and then later relax in the private hot tub afterwards. The hosts pay great attention to detail, from the deluxe appliances to the high-quality soaps and lotions. Just the place for a weekend getaway.

Great cabin in the woods. Everything was extremely clean and welcoming. Hot tub was great, a trail to the Nisqually River was a nice surprise. Very close to Rainier National Park. Host provided a ton of great information prior to the stay, including things to do in the area, check-in and arrival info. 10/10 would definitely stay here again.
