A classic mid century brick home in the heart of some of the best restaurants and night life in Portland. The comfortable home sleeps six with a sunny patio to enjoy, and peaceful yard with a giant Deodora cedar tree. brbrYou’ll be located a block from the junction of 28th and Belmont on a picturesque residential street, with easy access to the Belmont district, 28th Avenue “Restaurant Row”, Kerns, Burnside, Hawthorne and Division St/Clinton districts. If you are comfortable walking, cycling, and taking the bus you don’t need a car. The bus 15 is a block away, and takes you downtown, and to the Pearl District and NW 23rd, and connects with the light rail system (MAX), in the other direction it takes you to Mt Tabor Park. It takes about 45 minutes to walk the 2.2 miles to downtown’s Pioneer Courthouse Square along a pleasant route. Laurelhurst Park and Colonel Summers Park are each within 10 blocks. Whole Foods, and Safeway grocery stores are about a half mile. New Seasons and Fred Meyers grocery stores are about a mile away.brbrThe specifics ... this mid century duplex was designed by the architect who lived next door, for his son. The units are side by side, and sited on a peaceful 14,000 sq ft lot. The large yard provides a peaceful retreat in the heart of the city. The current owners live in the other half of the duplex, and are happy to be a resource for information and advice on your stay in Portland. The home is approximately 1500 sq ft with 2 bedrooms on the main floor, each with a queen sized bed. Upstairs is a bedroom with 2 twin sized beds. The main floor bathroom is opposite the bedrooms, and at the base of the stairs from the upstairs bedroom. The main floor has hardwoods throughout. The living room has two couches and chairs and opens to a sunny front porch sitting area. The dining room has a table that sits six. There is a flat screen TV with network and internet TV. Comcast internet and WiFi is available. There’s a full kitchen with all the basics to cook for your self but with all the fun food choices in walking distance you’ll be tempted to eat out or order in. The basement has an informal family room and full bathroom with stand alone shower (no tub). The basement also provides bike storage, and a laundry area. There is a high efficiency gas forced air furnace, and central air conditioning. One main floor bedroom has a height adjustable desk and desk chair. The other main floor bedroom has a small desk.

The main house is where you’ll be staying while the ground level unit is occupied by the owner. brbrThe kitchen is large and classic with subway tile wainscoting and beautiful fixtures. Completely stocked with all the items needed to prepare your meal de jour. Modern feature like a dishwasher and microwave also provided for real life demands.brbrThere are two bathrooms. On the main floor, experience the life of the modern Turkish bath house. Toilet, sink and large double shower. Upstairs is a toilet, sink and a large claw foot tub/shower. brbrFormal dining room, living room and tv room will make you feel right at home.brbrThere are 4 rooms, with two full and two queen size beds. One room with a queen size bed also has a full futon. brbrSummers can be enjoyed on the full size front porch, enjoying the Mediterranean garden.brbrWe have a no pets policy and outside noise after 10pm is not allowed in keeping with our good neighbor agreement. Being a two unit home, some sound will travel between the ground level unit and the main floor of the house similar to staying at a hotel or living in a condo. Getting to the main home requires climbing 18 steps so this may be a consideration for some in your group. All bedrooms are located on the top floor of the house. brbrParking is on street only. Covid19 update: we thoroughly clean the house with Clorox after each guest.brAs frequent travelers to B&B's, we have decided to make our home a B&B that is as convenient and comforting as the ones we like to stay at ourselves. After living in Portland for 13 years, we have agreed that a BnB is the best way to experience this beautiful area.brbr Location - This house has the perfect location for city and country people. It is only a 15 minute drive to downtown Portland while only 5 minute drive to the highway 26, which takes you to wineries, farms, hikes and the ocean. br brAmount of People - We have enough room to accommodate for 16 people. There are 5 rooms that will fit 8 adults and 4 kids and if more room is needed then there are two futons that are queen sized when reclined. The dining room has plenty of space for all the guests because of its dining table that comfortably seats 13 people.br brWifi/TV - There are 3 TVs in the house with a wide variety of channels. We also have high speed internet.br brNearby the House - The chairs, tables and barbecue grill on the 560 sq foot deck make it perfect to lounge around on while the park behind the backyard is great for a relaxing, sunny day because of its tennis courts, playground and big fieldbrbrEating - We have supplied all of the kitchenware and tableware and a few basic ingredients such as sugar, coffee and tea.
