The community shares a private path with access to the best surfing beach in the area! brbr brbrRestored to a 1969 vibe, fans of vintage A-Frame villages, surfers, and free spirits will love this spot. brbr brbrAn original tiny house village at the beach, this 792 foot A-Frame Chalet has a downstairs and a full upstairs loft. On the main level there is a kitchen, living room with tv, bedroom, and ensuite bath. The upper level loft has 2 twin beds, a half bath, and a sofa with TV. The upstairs sofa makes into a full bed; and loft spaces are open to one another. The lower bedroom has a queen bed. Loft access is by a ladder with rails, so this would not be suitable for a toddler or a child who is not a good stair-climber yet. It's a classic cabin-style, for families and close friends who don't mind sharing space. We have restored this home to its 1969 look in late 2017. You'll love the location, the coziness, and the nostalgic space. Mermaid's Rest is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets). brbr brbrThe seven acre grounds include 2 firepits and barbecue areas, park benches, a swing-set, grassy and forested areas. Most of this part of the coast has steep staircases for beach access, so you'll enjoy the stroll down through the beach on a meandering path, with just a few stairs at beach level. Access is about a mile from public access either direction, so this area is much less crowded than other beaches any time of year. Beautiful long view of the beach, from Devils Punchbowl to the North to Yaquina Head lighthouse to the South. brbr brbrWe won't be in your space during your stay, but are often nearby and have staff who can help in the event of an emergency. There is a groundskeeper (Lance) who lives full time on the property, in the event of emergency or security issues. brbr brbrOtter Rock is a small community along the Otter Crest Loop a beautiful, scenic section of historic Highway 101 between Newport and Depoe Bay, Oregon. This whole section of the Oregon Coast is high bank Oceanfront, with most beach access by steep staircase. Secluded beach front home, 3 levels. Full beach access, full ocean view from every room. The house has all new carpeting, windows, siding, and kitchen. Dining room, living room and bedrooms have all new furniture. Layout consist of 2 bedroom's, Queen size bed in both, lower level has family room with a full size bed with a twin trundle, 2 full bathrooms. Full kitchen,living room, Full laundry room with washer and dryer and dining room. Deck off upper level and on side yard. You can surf, boogie board, see tide pools, sea lions, eagles, and whale watch in front of the house. Over 6 miles of sandy beaches. The house is located about 6 miles from Newport and 15 from Lincoln City. Depoe Bay located 5 miles north has deep sea fishing and whale watching trips. The house has beach toys, boogie board, wet suits, boots and gloves for kids. Beach chairs, barbeque, firewood, woodstove, and a view you will not soon forget. Please note. The beach access is a trail with steps onto the sand, at times the storms will wash out the bottom two steps. I rebuild them as soon as possible but it may vary depending on the season. Access Beverly Beach - a long stretch of beautiful Oregon Coast just two blocks away, or wander down a path across the street to the Marine Garden, a protected preserve ideal for exploring tidepools and the Devil's Punchbowl. brbrSurfing, beach-combing, picnicking, or just hanging out on the sand - it's all right here. Our town is a bustling spot on a sunny day - don't fight the crowds for parking...stay right here! Mo's West, the Flying Dutchman Winery, and Cliffside Coffee & Sweets are also a couple of blocks away, right across from Devil's Punchbowl State Park. We are also walking distance to Spyglass at Otter Crest which also offers a local dining menu, breakfast, lunch and dinner.brbrThis is a family home - comfortable not luxurious but it has all the things we want when we go to the beach. Cook in a fully equipped kitchen with a large dining room table. There are many spice basics, flour, sugar, coffee, tea, oil, and such similar things too. We share plastic wrap, foil, ziplocs, and all the things you have in your own kitchen. (Things do run out occasionally so no guarantee on all the exact contents of the cupboards!) Pick up some seafood at the Chelsea Rose in the Newport docks to grill on our bbq! brbrOur wrap-around sunset deck has bright blue rocking chairs to relax and enjoy the sunsets. Plus a couple bright Adirondack chairs on our upper balcony for excellent people watching and a peek at the Yaquina Head Lighthouse on a clear day. And the best part is that we added a hot tub! It has a lovely ocean view - perfect for after a day on the beach. brbrEnjoy streaming movies & shows from our comfy sectional or play one of the many provided board games. With over 1,500 square feet of space on two floors, there is room to spread out and relax. Wifi too! A reading corner in the living room is a nice place to relax or nap too. Access to the balcony from the upstairs offers chairs for a distant view of Yaquina Lighthouse and fun people watching in the summer. brbrUpstairs, the one bedroom has a queen-size bed and a full/twin bunk bed. This is a great spot for the kids or for families to be in the same room but have your own beds. The queen bed upstairs does have the best morning view of Gull Rock out the window! brbrThe second bedroom downstairs has a king bed with an adjacent bathroom and shower. brbrWe have a twin daybed/couch in the downstairs TV room that provides another sleeping option. There is a full size washer and dryer in the adjacent laundry room.brbrWe have lots of toys, games, and books to entertain most ages. There is a booster chair with a tray that you can attach to a kitchen chair and we have a pack and play if you want to bring your own sheet. There is a wooden baby gate too. brbrPerfect for a family vacation, a girl's weekend, or getting away with friends. brbrThe house is accessed by a personalized key code sent via email prior to your stay. Check in is 4pm and check out is 11 am.brbrWe do have a 2 day minimum stay requirement but sometimes offer single days in between other stays, during slower times, or last minute. We are set in a forested, high-bank oceanfront 7-Acre setting at Otter Rock, along with 10 other privately owned chalets. The community shares a private path with access to the best surfing beach in the area! brbrRestored to a 1969 vibe, fans of vintage A-Frame villages, surfers, and free spirits will love this spot. brbrAn original tiny house village at the beach, this 656 Square foot A-Frame Chalet has a kitchen, living room with vaulted ceiling (open to the loft), bedroom, and ensuite bath on the main level. The upper level loft has 2 twin beds, a built in desk, and a peek of the ocean framed by shore pines out the upper window. The lower bedroom has a queen bed. brbrLoft access is by a ladder with rails, so this would not be suitable for a toddler or a child who is not a good stair-climber yet. The ensuite bath is shared, so access for all guests through the main (downstairs) bedroom. It's a classic cabin-style, for families and close friends who don't mind sharing space. We have restored this home to its 1969 look. brbrYou'll love the location, the coziness, the high ceilings. The Dude's Abode is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets). The Abode is very popular-- if it is unavailable for your dates, check out our New Listing Mermaid's Rest in the same village. brbrThe seven acre grounds include 2 firepits and barbecue areas, park benches, a swing-set, grassy and forested areas. Most of this part of the coast has steep staircases for beach access, so you'll enjoy the stroll down through the beach on a meandering path, with just a few stairs at beach level. Access is about a mile from public access either direction, so this area is much less crowded than other beaches any time of year. Beautiful long view of the beach, from Devils Punchbowl to the North to Yaquina Head lighthouse to the South. brbrWe won't be in your space during your stay, but are often nearby and have staff who can help in the event of an emergency. There is a groundskeeper (Lance) who lives full time on the Alpine Chalets property, in the event of emergency or security issues. brbrOtter Rock is a small community along the Otter Crest Loop a beautiful, scenic section of historic Highway 101 between Newport and Depoe Bay, Oregon. This whole section of the Oregon Coast is high bank Oceanfront, with most beach access by steep staircase. Our Alpine Chalets community is special for the 7 acre grounds (shared by only 11 separate Chalets) and for the hiking path down to the beach. The path is a bit steep at the top, but is generally easier to use than public access stairs in this area. Usually deserted and very private, that privacy changes for surf school! We are just south of the popular Otter Rock surfing beach and are perfect for your surf getaway. The old highway is close to Hwy 101. brbr1 mile North is public access for surfing, the Devils Punchbowl State Park, and Otter Rock Marine Preserve with tidepools. 8 miles south in Newport with shopping, a fishing fleet, charters, and the Oregon Coast Aquarium. brbrCar is recommended. We are on the Oregon Coast bicycle route; and would be a great stop for hard-care cyclists doing their dream 101 ride.brNo stairs into unit; main bedroom, bath and kitchen on one level.
