We have kept most of the old fashion appeal of days gone by or vacations spent as a child. We kicked it up a notch with the extensive decks and covered hot tub and newly appointed stainless appliances with concrete counter tops. We kept the cushy furniture and antique touches leaving a feeling of a true getaway. Our feeling of true perfection is not matchy-matchy furniture, but rather acquired through the years where you feel able to kick your shoes off, build a fire, read a book and just feel simplicity. No one across the river and neighbors set a distance away. This home has the privacy many are lacking. Due to insurance requirements cameras are on site.

Set at the end of a quiet, forested street just off Hwy 26, this cozy cabin offers solitude surrounded by majestic beauty. With a rustic wood and handmade tile interior, the cabin has a classic feel with modern convenience. Outside, the mountains offer visual serenity, and the river creates a dreamy audio ambiance that drowns out road noise and makes it an ideal space to truly get away.brbrThis cabin was handbuilt in 1973 by a Pacific Northwest stoneware artist and contains many special treatments throughout. Inside, there is plenty of seating downstairs - leather swivel chairs, one small sofa, a round 3-4 person table that overlooks the river and mountains, and a 12-foot long dining table. Heat is supplied via baseboard heaters downstairs and wall heaters upstairs. The cabin has Wifi, newer carpet, 55 Samsung SmartTV, and a turntable with two boxes of vinyl. We also have a fully-stocked kitchen along with spices and condiments. There is a large fireplace, too, and we supply a generous bundle to get it going.brbrOutside, the Zig Zag River flows over rocks and an ancient log that creates a natural fall, and the property is comprised of three lots with big trees and native plants and there are many sit and relax options. The upper deck, immediately outside of the bedroom loft, has a couple of chairs and amazing views. The lower deck has perimeter bench seating, a 4-person patio set, and a gas grill. At different points along the river are a hammock (in summer), gliding bench, and moveable chairs. If you want to go for a stroll, there is a path leading east (upstream) from the property that enters the Mt. Hood National Forest and has direct access to the clean running Zig Zag River. Downstream a few hundred yards is the confluence of the Zig Zag and Sandy Rivers, and you can access the river by foot and witness the silty Sandy mix with the clear Zig Zag; it's quite a natural spectacle. br brOur cabin may be a bit more expensive than comparably sized cabins in the area, but the specific location is very unique with easy access yet no road noise. We do have dog bowls, waste bags, specific dog towels, ect for communal use. While we clean thoroughly between each guest, we cannot guarantee at any given time that the cabin will be free of any pet dander. Due to allergies, we are unable to host cats. brbr*Again, it’s a dog friendly listing. While we aim to get every hair vacuumed, lint rolled or otherwise removed… dog hairs may still be present on items, imperfectly.brbr*That being said, dogs aren’t allowed on elevated fabric surfaces i.e. futon couch, bed, armchair, etc. While dander in inevitable, cleans between guests run smoother this way. brbr*Dogs must be supervised while on the property grounds at all times. Please ensure your dog does not wander onto neighboring yards, driveways or street. br br*The cabin's driveway is along the eastern side of the property and in line with the mailbox and address marker. It is an in and out style... NOT a turnaround or attached to another driveway. Please do not drive on the lawn or anywhere else on the property.brbr*Guests booking must be 21 or older.brbr*Access to all listed TV streaming subscriptions can change at any timebrbr*We do get snow in the winter months. HWY 26 is always plowed and lower E Lolo tends to be as well. Kindling will be needed to start your fire, and we provide an ax and hatchet as tools for this. The wood we provide MUST be chopped down to start a fire.Additional wood can be purchased at several stores, just minutes away. Please do not go gathering for sticks/burning material on or around the property. We provide the ax, hatchet and area outside to create these smaller pieces.br br*Lolo Cabin is part of a small community of homes along the Zigzag River. We have full time neighbors and we ask that you respect their peace and quiet. We are located on a gravel road (5mph MAX) off a major street, up from the main highway.br br*To keep dirt at a minimum we ask you remove your shoes when entering the cottage & please wipe your dogs feet and body especially if it’s wet outside.brbr*Our neighborhood of 3 streets all share the same water well. The cabin is on a septic system.
