Unit # 1 is a duplex-style cottage, so it may be possible to hear guests in the unit attached. We ask all our guests to keep this in mind when booking and to be respectful when staying. This quaint unit is a studio with one queen bed, a table, *a small kitchen*, and *a small bathroom* with a shower. The unit is well-kept & equipped, however it is simple and wind-swept. Please keep in mind that if you are looking for a luxurious getaway, this may not be the right choice for your stay. This unit is located right next door to a nice RV Park. The park is visible from the sliding glass door/deck. While this does not seem to be a problem for most guests, we understand that it might be for others. Please be aware of this before booking. There is a ladder to access the beach *see photos* that we ask guests to use at their own risk and discretion. The ladder is not perfect, but is a permanent solution, as the levels of the sand/tides change depending on the time of day or season. Unfortunately, a longer ladder or steps are not feasible as they have been ripped away by the tide in the past. Other: Cell Reception: Please be aware that cellphone reception can be very weak to nonexistent on the coast. Please plan accordingly. We do have wifi across the entire property, so calls and texts over wifi (i.e., FaceTime, and other apps that rely on wifi) are possible.

The comfortable cabin, located in a quiet area of large fir trees, includes a full well-equipped kitchen, large screen TV with Roku, and wireless internet service. Enjoy music from Pandora or Spotify on the bluetooth/CD compact shelf system. The downstairs bedroom includes a comfortable queen bed. There is a double futon sofa bed in the TV room off the bedroom and a double sofa bed in the living room upstairs. brbrHeron's Hideaway comfortably sleeps 4, but could sleep 6 with the use of futon bed, sofa bed and the queen bed. Washer and dryer available. On cooler days, enjoy the pellet stove in the living room as you enjoy the lake view or curl up with a good book. Retro A-Frame -Walk to Heceta Beach-Anchor's A-Way

Anchors A-Way is a classic 1965 A-Frame. The original owners have been using it as a family getaway since they purchased it in 1976, and it's now been passed on to the second generation. It's a time capsule of mid-century modest. With only 600 square feet it's a darling little gem. The living room, dining area, kitchen and bathroom are all downstairs, and it includes 2 built in twin beds that also serve as sofas.brbrThis house is for the young, or young at heart as it has a ladder-stairway to the loft, where you'll find the queen bed. It's super close to the beach, but in a marvelous wind protected location so you can enjoy the deck in the morning, afternoon and evening. It has as much outdoor living space as there is inside. There is a picnic table for outside dining as well.brbrYou'll find 2 rattan swivel rockers, and a 40-inch TV on a rolling cart. It has streaming internet TV with Sling. The built in twin beds are perfect for children, or taking a quick nap in the afternoon, while curled up with a book.brbrI have a thing for A-frames, they've been disappearing, right and left in Florence and on the West Coast in general, as people rip them down and toss up more practical housing. I blogged about this A-frame and Helmsman's Hide-A-Way in January & March of 2013; little did I know I'd wind up with both of them in June 2013 as vacation rentals. While these 2 represent opposite ends of the spectrum, they're both fantastic pieces of history, if you enjoy rustic, funky, and fun historic houses you'll love them, as much as I do. If you're really into A-frames and oddities, ask me and I'll provide you with a self-guided tour list, to see in the neighborhood.brbrSince we took on this house the owners have passed on this house to their daughter. I loved hearing the family stories, telling me about swinging out of the loft (before we put in the new loft rail - it's amazing any of us survived ;-) Since we took it on 7 years ago, we have replaced all the windows, siding and re-built the deck rail benches, plus replaced the refrigerator and range. This home reminds you of the original beach house you used to stay in, lots of glass, open beamed tongue & groove ceiling, and a charming beach feel.brbrIt has been updated over the years, with new vinyl windows throughout. The kitchen and dining area have ceramic tile floors & modern appliances but with the wonderful red countertops it hasn't lost it's sixties charm. The Dining Room has a large picnic table with padded seats that seats 8 and has a fantastic view. Also a great place to play games or do a jigsaw puzzle on those stormy days. brbrRelax in front of the Pellet Stove in the spacious living room or enjoy the afternoon sun out on the large wrap around deck with great views. Deja View is a 1644 square foot beach front family gem that sleeps 6. It has panoramic views from every room and while it may have been built in 1980 the owners father was a mid-century guy who designed the house with mid-century flair mixed with 1970's Mediterranean style. We love its retro vibe and hope that those of you who love all things seventies will come enjoy this amazing home.brbrOn the first floor you'll find a living room, kitchen & dining room which are one large room so no-one is going to miss anything while they're cooking, staring at the view, watching TV or playing a game. The wood stove sits dead center of the panoramic view so you can enjoy a toasty fire while storm watching in the winter. There is a dining room table for 6 and an additional table that you can do a jigsaw puzzle, play cards or enjoy your morning coffee. On this floor you'll also find a bathroom with shower, and a full size front load washer & dryer.brbrThe Queen bedroom wall backs up to the living room and doesn't go all the way to the ceiling - as to allow the heat to move between rooms.brbrThe second floor is 1 large game room, with more panoramic views, a pool table, wet bar, another bathroom. There is also a full size bed and 2 twins. This house will comfortably sleep 2 couples with plenty of room to spread out, or is great for 2 adults and up to 4 children. This is where you'll access the second floor deck. Once again the stairway is wide open with the floor to ceiling groovy textured glass to allow filtered light in. The front of the house has a great wind protected courtyard, and on the beach side of the house house is another great deck to sit and watch the waves, whales & bald eagles.brbrWhile Deja View is technically beach front it's down the street, around the corner down a hobbit trail thru the foliage and over a dune to get on the beach, we're guessing about ¼ mile hike for the young, fit and agile. The garage door leads to the large back deck protected from the wind by glass panels and a cedar wood ship art wall. While sitting at the outdoor table, lounging in the Adirondack chairs or on the deck bench, enjoy the sounds of the ocean. You will be surprised by the large whimsical nautical backyard the owners have been working on! One easy step through the front door of this house and a large dining room welcomes you with an oak table for six.
