The setting makes you feel like you are in the back country yet you are minutes from everything this area has to offer. We are only 1 mile from I 40 exit 24 and 25 miles to downtown Asheville and the Biltmore estate. You only need to make a mere 10 minute drive to enjoy all that downtown Waynesville has to offer from fine dining to some of the areas best local breweries.brbrThis property takes shape after a lifetime of finding old barns and log cabins that were destined to be torn down or even left to rot away. Through the years we have carefully dismantled these structures and saved every usable item we could to try to create something special to us..... and hopefully special to our guests as well. From the antique hewn logs to the reclaimed locust porch posts, rails, and decking this is a uniquely different log cabin that you will have a hard time finding anything comparable. Step inside and feel the antique solid oak hand scraped barn wood flooring under your feet. Enjoy the warm feel of the solid poplar barn wood walls and ceilings mixed with just enough Spanish style stucco to brighten each space you enter. Enter the master bath to the spacious open shower with natural stone walls and stone mosaic flooring. Look above to see the exposed locust rafters and reclaimed beams in the vaulted ceiling. brbrYou will more than likely spend most of your time here on the front porch relaxing to the long range mountain views. Watch closely for the huge cranes, hawks, and the occasional bald eagles that patrol the river. With the close proximity to the river you will most likely see some type of wildlife during your stay, there are coyotes, turkeys, groundhogs, deer, bear, squirrels, etc. This property is home to more than 50 head of cattle so no pets are allowed at any time during your stay here. Also no smoking in the house but it is fine to smoke outside on the porch.
