The tranquil sound of the creek will relax you. Occasionally, neighbors may fish the parking lot/waterfall area only, mostly in spring. This is where the State releases trout.brbrGenerally guests drive in from on Fall Creek Road from Highway 421. It's the most direct path for most people. You can go the upstream direction on Fall Creek Road and take a dirt road to the Blue Ridge Parkway if you are feeling adventuresome. Parking is simple with signs in the gravel lot.brbrWe have 2 other glamping sites available to rent in the glamping area. There are some tricky turns on Staghorn to Deer run so follow this information.brbrOnce you enter code and enter Staghorn go 1.0 miles and stay left on split which keeps you on Staghorn. Then go an additional 1.5 miles and bear right to stay on Staghorn . Stay on Staghorn another .9 miles and @ the dangerous intersection bear left to stay straight onto Deer Run.brbrGo .6 miles and stay right on Deer Run and look for 1.8 DR wooden road sign on right and we are just past it, turn left into concrete driveway 2057. Buck Mountain is a private gated community which offers many amenities. The house offers stunning panoramic views from a wraparound porch on the upper level and large deck on the lower level, and a hot tub from which to enjoy the view. The lot is 3 acres with gravel paths, beautiful landscaping and a fire pit perfect for stargazing as you roast marshmallows. You will find yourself on a getaway the minute you walk in the door, smore’s gift basket included!brbrInside the home you will find everything needed for a comfortable stay. There are two bedrooms upstairs, each with a queen-size bed and a private full bathroom. Downstairs there is a spacious bedroom with twin bunkbeds and a queen-size bed with separate full bathroom and a washer and dryer. If you are a larger group with children, we may be able to accommodate you, please inquire. Guests can enjoy the upstairs living room with large gas fireplace or the open living area downstairs. A 55-inch TV in the den provides access to satellite TV and streaming services with a click of a button. The roomy queen-sized bedrooms each have 32-inch smart TVs, cozy quilted bedding and farmhouse-style furniture. brbrSit at the large table to play cards or games provided, pull up a barstool to enjoy a drink at the kitchen island or lounge on the large sectional to watch a movie. A full bathroom is convenient to both bedrooms and living spaces. A washer and dryer are available for use downstairs. WiFi is available throughout the house as well.brbrIn order to get to our great view, there is a short drive on a gravel road and our driveway is gravel as well. The driveway is uphill but is not difficult to navigate. The roads in the neighborhood are maintained and scraped in the winter.

Ideally located 40 minutes from Boone and Appalachian State University to watch the Mountaineer home games! Also this beautiful property is 40 minutes from the North Wilkesboro Speedway for all you racing fans! Merelefest, about 30 minutes away, is a longstanding mountain local festival and Bobcat Retreat is a great spot to vacation and see live music. The quaint town of West Jefferson is about a 45 minute drive and downtown Wilkesboro is a 35 minute drive from our cabin. Buck Mountain Community offers wonderful amenities to guests, including a community fishing pond stocked with largemouth bass, multiple species of sunfish, and channel catfish (catch and release). There are ample hiking opportunities to beautiful waterfalls and picnic areas, and a putting green. Guests are welcome to hike the ATV trails. However, remember that guests are not allowed to bring or ride ATVs in the community as that is a member-only benefit. br brThis charming cabin is graced with a wall of windows on the main level letting natural light permeate the living room and upstairs loft bedroom. Guests will find the stone wood-burning fireplace or outdoor wood-burning fire pit a wonderful place to gather. The wrap-around deck includes covered and uncovered areas to enjoy the wooded and seasonal mountain views and lovely sunsets while relaxing or grilling on the deluxe gas grill.brbrThe fully stocked kitchen has a regular coffee maker, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator (with ice trays) and electric oven. The family can gather around the dining table to enjoy their favorite meals.brThe comfortable living room has seating in front of the wood burning fireplace (seasonal) and large flat screen Roku TV with streaming apps, including FuboTV, for you to use your login info.
