On the main level is a large great room with gas fireplace. Enjoy preparing family meals in the fully stocked kitchen or grilling on the 6-burner Weber grill. Plenty of seating is available for everyone to gather for meals. Relax in the screen porch located off the dining room - the perfect spot for morning coffee or evening wildlife watching, including visits from the neighborhood heron.brbrThe master suite has sliders to the deck and a private bathroom with large shower and custom cabinets.brbrAlso located on the main level is a half-bath and laundry.brbrThe kids will love to hang downstairs in the rec room with wet bar, 2nd fridge, ping pong table, TV, sectional and pub table for game night.brbrThere are 4 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms downstairs. 2 bedrooms are lake facing each with en-suite access to a bathroom. 1 bathroom has a shower, the 2nd a tub/shower combo. All bedrooms have comfortable mattresses with multiple types of pillows for your comfort. Dressers and closets are available to store your belongings during your stay.brbrTowels (for indoor use) & linens are included. brbrJust steps from the house, the boathouse is the ultimate lake hangout. Enjoy jumping off the dock or floating in the calm waters of the large cove. The boathouse features a large shaded area with table/seating, a bar with mini-fridge and stools, 4 kayaks, and plenty of room for enjoying the water which is 7-8 ft deep at the end of the dock. The boathouse has rope lighting that makes for a great spot to relax after the sun goes down. The boathouse has 5 bumper posts and 2 mooring cleats on each side for securing boats. While the house is located in NC, the VA border is within sight. There are several natural areas up Poplar Creek within a short kayak trip, including an island, making for fun areas to explore on a kayak trip from NC to VA and back.brbrOff the water, enjoy the many outside seating areas, smores at the firepit, or a game of cornhole. For rainy days or a break from the outdoors, plenty of games & books are available and multiple streaming services to enjoy a movie or your favorite show. brbrThe nearest boat ramp is the Poplar Creek Boat Ramp about 3.5 miles by car from the house. Boat rentals are also available near the boat ramp at Poplar Pointe Marine. Take a trip for lunch or dinner by boat or car to the Shady Shack located up Poplar Creek, also near the boat ramp. There are more lake-side restaurants on the lake, approximately a 5 mile boat ride to One Eyed Jack(coming soon) and WatersView restaurant. For a nearby off-shore excursion, the Rosemont Winery is only 4 miles away by car and Poplar Creek Farm is near-by in Bracey.

Enjoy a bug free nap on the hammock while still close enough to the water to share in the lake front fun.brbrIn the kitchen you will find everything you need to create great meals or quick snacks for the dock. We pride ourselves on having an extremely well-stocked kitchen. You won't run out of silverware, glasses or lack that perfect food prep tool!brbrLocated on the main level, the master king bedroom has en-suite bath, HD TV, lake front view and sliding doors onto a private deck. Also on the main floor is another bedroom with a queen size bed situated just next to a full bathroom.brbrWith a large group of family or friends you'll enjoy having the option of indoor play in the heated and cooled garage game room OR in the 2nd living space located on the lower level. The game room comes complete with ping-pong, air hockey and sitting areas. The lower living area has full seating, a board game table and a large HD TV. The lower living area also has double sliding glass doors with easy access to the dock, yard or just for enjoying the evening sunsets across the water.brbrThe lower level continues to provide lots of extra space for those family and friends! There are 3 bedrooms and one full bath on this floor. You'll find a bedroom with a king sized bed, HD TV and sliding patio doors to the beautiful lake view, another huge bedroom with a queen bed, double bed and daybed/trundle which also has patio doors to that same exceptional lake view. Also there is a 3rd bedroom with a queen/twin bunk-bed set and a twin/twin bunk-bed set.brbrBut really, who are we kidding You have plenty of time to explore the indoors after you run out to the dock and get your feet in the water! You will love the option of sitting either in the sun or in the shade while still being right in the middle of all the water activities! Furnished with patio loungers, a porch swing, hammock chairs and a table/chair set, you'll find the dock perfect for everyone's water front expectations. Need some exercise Grab the kayak or the paddle board and take them for a spin. With 7 feet of water depth, a cannonball contest might be in order!brbrOur home comes complete with bed linens as well as bathing and kitchen towels. Our neighborhood is large, quiet and safe with numerous paved roads so bring your bikes and feel free to tour around. You will also find a neighborhood park and pavilion at the entrance of our neighborhood with a playground for the kids to enjoy.brbrAt this time we do not provide a boat lift for rental use; however, we do have mooring whips (with instructions) for safe/secure boat or jet ski docking. These ties are easy to use and keep your vessel a safe distance from the dock even during storms and/or high wake time periods. The closest ramp is located at Morningstar Marina, just a few miles drive from the house. Our cove is the first large cove on the same side as the marina when you head west out of the marina area.brbr

LAKE HOUSE AND PONTOON BOAT IN BEAUTIFUL POE CREEK COVE AT LAKE GASTON

This is a great vacation home on the perfect Poe Creek! The house has 3 floors with great views on every floor. A renovation and addition was completed on the house May 2016.brbrBig spacious 2020 Benington 25’ Tri-toon with a 150 h.p. Yamaha engine available to rent. It can fit up to 14 people. Bluetooth stereo, fish finder/depth gauge, ski bar, table, bimini top. Boat includes all safety equipment including life jackets. Local rentals charge $2,000+ week, this boat is available at $1,500 per week (summer season rate) and at the dock when you get there! The boat rental fee for off-season months is $250 per night and is required for the entirety of your stay- no partial rentals. Boat rental is available March-November. The boat is not included in the rental fee, so please make sure to inquire about adding on the boat rental if you choose to. If you choose to rent the boat, you must do so for the entirety of your stay. brbrMAIN FLOOR is an open floor plan with a 47' LCD TV, Blu-ray player, open family room, updated kitchen, full bath and 2 bedrooms (one queen bed, one king bed). The main deck area off the house is on this floor with a 480 sq. ft. screened in porch and gas grill.brbrUPSTAIRS: Has 2 bedrooms and a full bath. The master has a beautiful view of the lake with a queen bed. The other bedroom sleeps 6 in bunk beds. brbrBASEMENT: Has a pool table with a convertible ping pong table, large flat screen TV, blu ray DVD, large leather sectional, 2 bedrooms, full bath and the laundry room. One bedroom has a king-size bed and the other has a queen-size bed and a bunk bed. Added in May 2023, Multicade Arcade Machine with Pacman and 40 other games. There is also an additional refrigerator for use in the basement.brbrOUTSIDE: The boat house was rebuilt in March 2017. The boat house has a covered area with two boat lifts and a slip to the side to tie up a 3rd boat or jet ski. There are 4 kayaks and 2 paddle boards. The boat lift, kayaks, and paddle boards are available for use. The main deck on the lower level is spacious and has a covered picnic table and a diving board. The swimming area is private and protected from boats by the neighboring property. The water is shallow at the bulkhead for younger children to stand in and swim and the water at the end of the dock is 12 feet deep for the diving board and jumping off the top deck.brbrPickleball Court beginning in September of 2024. We have made a Pickleball Court in our cul-da-sac (see pictures). Renters are required to provide your own net and racquets and balls.brbrThere are 2 marinas on the lake for gas, good food and boat rentals. This house is honestly one of the best coves on the lake!brbrThe boat ramp is about 7 miles away from house. Take highway 158 toward Roanoke Rapids. Turn left onto Myrick Estates Rd and then right on Bluebird Rd which will take you to the ramp.brbrEach year we are excited to give 100% of our rental revenue from this lake house to a charity that makes a difference.
