The perfect Lake Gaston family getaway!

For the past 6 years, my family and I have rented a house on Lake Gaston just about every year for the week of 4th of July. We have yet to find a house that we leave thinking “let’s come back to this house next year”. Until now. Northern Cove Retreat is and has everything we could ever want or need. I have learned a lot from each different rental over the years, every year I add new things to my lake packing list for the next year and was sure this year would be my year for finally thinking of everything. And I did…but so have the owners of this home. They have thought of everything and more and you will be hard pressed to find something you need they don’t have waiting for you there (believe me, I tried. Trying to find something I had that the house didn’t became like a little competition for me during our first few days there, there were times I’d think I’d found the thing they didn’t have that I had - thank goodness for me saving the day - thought to bring only only to discover that, nope, it was already there. Eventually I gave up because the owners/house had clearly thought of literally everything I had and more). From a really well stocked pantry (PAM, cooking and spice cabinet and The check out process was hands down the easiest, most uncomplicated check out process I have ever experienced. It’s almost like the owners have read every negative review of other homes and gone above and beyond to ensure they’re providing an experience that is the exact opposite of those.

Our family of 3 generations enjoyed a week at this great lake house. The home has a unique layout, and a casual lake feel that fit our family group well, with bedrooms and extra sleeping spaces spread out across 3 levels. Plenty of space indoors and out for a large group gathering. Highlights of the home - the many dock amenities for endless fun in the water, the garage game room with many activities, and the pleasant screened porch. The kitchen is well supplied and the house very clean.

Thanks so much to our great host for providing such a wonderful place for our family vacation. The house was very clean and there were lots of water amenities and a plethora of things for the kids and adults to do. We will definitely come back to make more great family memories.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful house! The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked, but the highlight was the game room and the water toys. The Party Pad and foam mat were so much fun, and the kayaks and paddle boards definitely added to the enjoyment!

We loved our stay. And appreciated the little things that made everything easier and more enjoyable - linens were provided and beds were made, kitchen was well-stocked, lots of tvs that were easy to use, many life jackets in a variety of sizes, firewood and pellets for the smoker available, super simple check out, so many games and puzzles. Chris was so friendly and very responsive.

We enjoyed a very clean house, a very easy entry, and wonderful water toys. The week was enjoyed by all!

Beautiful house, beautiful setting. Comfortably provided room for 12 will all the comforts of home. Hours of fun for all on the paddle boards, paddle boats and kayaks in a wonderfully secluded cove just minutes off the main lake. Definitely a place to stay.

Beautiful property and house. Everything was clean and overall maintained extremely well. Plenty of things to do on rainy days as well as paddle boards, kayaks etc. Great property for huge families with kids too. Very convenient to shopping, We had an amazing week!

This was the best vacation property we've ever rented. The home was very clean, spacious and exceptionally well equipped with everything from kids toys/games/books to basic toiletries and laundry and kitchen essentials. Beautiful location on a quiet cove with calm water. Very shallow at the edge, perfect for kids (suggest bringing water shoes). We enjoyed using the kayaks, stand up paddle boards and pedal boats. We also loved renting the boat and taking the kids tubing. The owner Chris was very attentive and responded right away to all messages. We're hoping to return another year!
