Gated entrance is a half mile off HYW 321 and approximately 20 minutes South of Main Street Blowing Rock. This log home backs up to the Pisgah National Forest and offers the perfect setting for explorers, families, and large friend gatherings of all kinds. Easy 2-step access into the main level will greet you with vaulted ceilings, a large stone fireplace, and lovely stone accents throughout. The gourmet kitchen features a large island with 3 seats, double ovens, and a gas range! There is a dining table adjacent to the kitchen that will seat 8 guests. The spacious master bedroom is located on the main level and offers a comfortable king bed and ensuite luxurious bathroom with a tiled walk-in shower, separate vanities, and a soaking tub. Upstairs there are two additional bedrooms, both with queen beds each with private bathrooms. The loft area offers an office / reading area and twin daybed for little ones! On the lower level of the home sits the fourth bedroom that has a queen bed and bunk beds. Spectacular, luxury log cabin with fabulous view of Grandfather Mountain and the John's River Gorge. This house is constructed with 10 inch round logs from Montana for that western lodge look. It boasts a huge great room with 25' vaulted ceiling, beautiful stacked stone fireplace, lots of windows, huge deck to enjoy the view, top of the line kitchen, hickory floors, and inviting mountain decor throughout. At 3000 feet, the air is nice and crisp, but air conditioning is available if you need it.brbrThis house has three bedrooms and three full baths. Two of the bedrooms have fabulous views and private baths. One of these bedrooms, on the main level, has a queen bed. The bedroom upstairs has a king bed and twin bed and has a beautiful bath. The second bedroom, on the main level, has two twin beds and hall bath. There is a queen sleeper/sofa located in the living room. There is a basement and additional bedroom upstairs but they are not available for rental. No pictures are shown of the areas unavailable and everything you see in pictures will be open for you. brbrThe dining room is spacious and opens onto a covered porch. The kitchen is very large and is fully equipped with double ovens, built-in microwave, downdraft gas range, garbage disposal, dishwasher, and refrigerator with ice-maker. There is a large breakfast bar in the kitchen so there is plenty of room for everyone to eat.brThe house is fully equipped with dinnerware, pots, pans, utensils, linens and has a washer/dryer.brWe are located on 4 acres backing up to the Pisgah National Forest, so hiking opportunities abound. No smoking is allowed in the home and sorry, no pets are allowed either. brbrDowntown Blowing Rock is less than four miles away. Our house is 1 mile down a well-maintained gravel road. Four wheel drive is seldom needed. The decks offer many opportunities to enjoy the view. The back of the great room is all glass and opens onto a huge deck where a gas grill is located, as well as much seating. brbrAll of the baths are tile with upgraded fixtures. Hickory floors are throughout most of the house. There is much exposed wood with extra large posts in the entry hall, stone foyer, large stone front porch, and tongue and groove ceilings.brbrBlowing Rock is a quaint village with an abundance of excellent restaurants, antique shops, and festivals in the park. The Blue Ridge Parkway is only 3 1/2 miles away and offers scenic drives, great hikes, mountain biking, and horseback riding opportunities. Skiing is available within a couple of miles at Appalachian Ski Mountain and the town has tennis courts.brbrSeasonally, Tweetsie Railroad and Mystery Hill are open for children's' entertainment. Tweetsie is an amusement park with rides, a petting zoo, and old steam engine train. Grandfather Mountain is about 1/2 hour drive away and has the Mile High Swinging Bridge, and zoo. We recommend four wheel drive vehicles in the winter months of January and February. The rest of the year the driveway is just fine and well maintained all year round. The village of Blowing Rock is a 5 minute drive to Main Street.brbrThis home was built to take in all of the wonderful views of the mountains. It is the most comfortable home that I have ever lived in. You wake in the morning to the sounds of birds and nature and glorious sunrises! The view is to the south looking over the John River Gorge. The address is technically Lenoir NC but that is confusing. Lenoir is 20 miles away and this house sits high on the wooded Ridge line just 2.5 miles from the village of Blowing Rock. Yes, it only takes about 5 minutes to drive into the town! The area is Pisgah national Forest and is special in that this area will not be developed in the future due to the National Forest designation. In the winter the view is also very enchanting due to the fact that far, far in the distance you can see the East West corridor of I- 40. We call it the ribbon of lights that run just along the horizon line way out beyond the mountains. It highlights the beauty of the multi layered view of the mountains.brbrThe cabin is on a gravel road and parking is beside the house. There is a turn around area available between the two cottages. We ask that you not use the turn around for parking as it is needed for turning around only.
