The larger cabin has been updated to include a kids' loft area, a luxurious master suite with balcony, and a separate living area on the lower level. The smaller cabin has been converted into a cozy one bedroom studio.brbrYou’re only 2.5 miles from Main Street in Blowing Rock. These cabins have a rich history in the area and were built by and eventually gifted to a caretaker of the Cone Family Apple Orchard. We’ve been hard at work updating and remodeling these beauties so that they maintain the rich history but include the modern luxuries that you’re used to. brbrThe larger cabin includes a main level with interior steps that lead the kids loft as well as a completely separate lower level that is accessed by way of the deck, allowing the opportunity for two master suites (one on the main level and another on the lower level). The main level sleeps nine (king bed, queen bed, three twin beds and a couch that converts to another queen bed), while the lower level sleeps three (one queen bed and one convertible sofa that converts to a full size bed). From the main level master, you’ll look out over Blackberry Gorge toward Charlotte and see until the earth makes its curve. If you’re not taking in the view with a cup of coffee from the luxurious king bed, you’ll be sipping on some sweet goodness out on the private master balcony.brbrThey Tiny Cabin was a Studio for a well known High Country artist and has been remodeled to include a full bathroom with tile shower and well equipped kitchenette. It’s perfect for that late afternoon picnic or pond side lounge or leisurely fishing. The cabin sits at the very top of the only road that goes in and out of the community, so please be sure that you do not block the road in any way that might impede our neighbors from driving by.brbrYou’ll be less than a five minute drive to Main Street Blowing rock where you can stroll, dine and shop the picturesque town. Blowing Rock has been a central part of life in the High Country since the late 1800’s and many of the stone structures that were formed in the early 1900’s remain until today. In fact, the mason that built the fireplace in our larger cabin was the “go-to” stone mason of the day. Many of the stone structures that you’ll see throughout town were crafted by the same stone mason that built our larger cabin.brbrHighway 321 will be cleared appropriately in winter months. As for the road off of 321 to this cabin, it is paved but in the event of inclement weather - 4WD or AWD is suggested in winter months.brbrWhile the road to the house does melt quickly, it can be tricky with snow.brbrIf you’re headed further into the High Country, we’d encourage you to take a drive. We highly recommend taking the longer route on the Blue Ridge Parkway to get from where you are to where you’re going. If you’re looking for another scenic route, be sure to take Shull’s Mill road if you’re headed toward Banner Elk or Valle Crucis.brbrWhile you stay, there will be plenty of room to park. Feel free to park on the concrete next to the garage or on the gravel.brbrThe main and lower levels of the larger cabin are not connected by interior stairs and both have separate entrances. The lower level can only be accessed by the lower deck.brbrThere is plenty to do in and around the property and we encourage you to take a stroll down the private gravel road past the cabin as well as the 4x4 paved road down the mountain. Please do not attempt to drive down the mountain on the asphalt path unless your vehicle is equipped with four wheel drive (we’re not responsible for any stuck or damaged vehicles that may come from driving down to the pond)). A two-story stone wood-burning fireplace and herringbone woodwork is on one side of the room, with a leather sectional couch in front of it. An HDTV in an entertainment hutch beside the fireplace. Behind the couch is a dining table with six chairs, and there's room for up to four more at the kitchen counter in high-backed stools. The kitchen has a lovely tile backsplash and stainless steel appliances.brbrThe master suite on the main level has a King bed, a large walk in closet, double doors to the deck with the hot tub, and a large private bathroom with a tile and glass block shower and marble-topped double vanities.brbrUpstairs is a loft with a pool table and a cozy oversized chair, as well as two more bedroom suites. Each of these bedrooms has a Queen bed and its own private bathroom.brbrThe deck around the main level wraps completely around the home, and is gated to allow peace of mind for young children and dogs to wander. The front section of the deck is covered and has an assortment of cushioned outdoor lounge furniture, a propane-powered firetable, as well as the huge hot tub. The back section of the deck, facing the beautiful mountain view, is uncovered and has a patio table & chairs for four as well as the gas grill.brbrPerfectly situated just 5 miles (20 minutes) from Main Street, Blowing Rock, and convenient to every High Country attraction, this beautifully decorated mountain home is sure to delight you in every way!brbrbrPLEASE NOTE: brThis home is accessed by a steep gravel road. 4WD/AWD and/or chains recommended during winter (Nov-March) for all homes. Travelers visiting during the winter months where inclement weather may be possible should come prepared with an AWD or 4WD vehicle, and chains may also be required if it snows. No refunds, allowances, or date changes will be given to travelers who are not prepared with the proper vehicle, as outlined in the Rental Agreementbr -This home allows up to 4 mature, well-trained dogs with an additional pet rent of $25 per pet per night plus tax. Pets other than dogs are not permitted. ABSOLUTELY NO CATSbr-Check In is after 4pm. Check Out is by 10am.br- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a starter set of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, several garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers. Towels and linens will be providedbr- Must electronically sign an additional Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions and any Neighborhood Rules sent by Host (property manager) or entry information cannot be sent.br- Must be at least 25 years old to reserve. This person is required to be the person signing the agreement and must be one of the persons staying in the property for the reserved dates.br- No smoking inside the home. No trace of smoking left outside the home.br- Do not leave food or trash outside as it could attract animals. All trash must be bagged and placed in the trash receptacle indicated in the Welcome Book inside the house or your digital guidebook.br- No parties or gatherings above the posted occupancy allowed at any time. Keep outside noise respectable.br-Firewood may be purchased at the time of booking, or by calling us with a week's notice. Tent 3 I call “ Bambi’s Playground”. When I first discovered it I approached it from the trail going from the ponds through the forest on the ridge of the mountain. That trail itself is very beautiful in its serenity and then this charming meadow opened up, and the famous animation came to my mind. Bright cheerful clearing in the woods would be a perfect place for Bambi to play.brThe stay at this location is magical. Walk from the pond to the campsite in the woods on mountain ridge. This remote location is pure and beautiful. There is plenty of room to have a small event. Or just be by yourself and enjoy .brThis Tent is very remote, so I do not mind if you have a party there or and event. This place is just for you, your friends and family to enjoy and have fun. Just be respectful and safe. The closest house from you is about a mile away. Phone connection is very spotty to non-existent.brThe Tent itself is a large luxury Tent that has four beds ( cots). brThe Tent sits on a deck on a hillside facing the meadow. brOff the deck there is a large picnic area with fire pit and picnic table. The Meadow itself is relatively flat for the mountain. And large enough to play games or have an event.brThe toilet and the shower cabin, are behind the Tent. The toilet is called “Poo-Pee” toilet, because of its eco-friendly design. The shower is an outdoor shower.brThe dirt road leading to the tent is newly rebuilt and it is accessible by a regular car. (Although low clearance fancy car might lose the bumper).brBesides the Tent itself you have 180 acres of land to roam around. Hiking trails, Fishing pond. Mountain views.brThe civilization in the form of the town of Lenoir is about 12 miles away. There you can find all regular brand shops, fast food restaurants etc.brThe town of Hickory offers more choices and also a very large lake with several marinas, where you can get a boat.brThere is a Tennis court in a community park about 10 minutes away by car.brAsheville is about 1.5 hr away to the West and Charlotte is about 1.5 hr away to the East.brThe nearest airport is Concord Regional Airport, 115 km from the accommodation.br
