One of the few homes in Boone for rent with central heating and air. Pulling up to the house you will notice the driveway is well positioned and not very steep. This is important in winter months, as many driveways in the area can be very steep. There is a beautiful deck that wraps around three-fourths of the house, with rocking chairs on the front porch. This is the perfect place to enjoy morning coffee or an evening glass of wine or bourbon. When the leaves are off the trees in the fall you can see distant mountains and nearby houses, making for a picturesque view.brbrYou will enter the house through the door on the side of the house, which leads into the open kitchen and dining room area. The kitchen is well equipped to prepare meals for any size group, and can seat 8 people...four at the dining table and two more at the counter. There are four large glass doors in the kitchen leading to the back deck, and offering tons of light and great views of nature going up the back mountain. New appliances were added in December 2022 (photos coming).brbrDirectly off the kitchen in a bright sitting room with comfortable seating and another large window to watch nature. Binoculars are provided for those who enjoy bird watching. This is a great spot for that! This room has a sofa, and a folding screen to offer privacy to the hallway. The three bedrooms are on the second floor, so privacy for this room has not been an issue. A stackable washer and dryer is located at the end of the hallway, just off the sitting room. It is for guest use. Please feel free to clean your clothes before heading back. No need to do bed linens or towels as we professionally launder those off site.brbrA half bath and large living room round out the first floor. The living room is spacious and carpeted, and features two large sofas. Eight people can sit comfortably, and two others can be accommodated by bringing in chairs from other rooms. The living room also features a 52 smart TV with internet through Spectrum, DVD player, and a small library of popular DVD titles. The smart TV has most of the popular streaming apps and you can use your own login information to access these. You will always have something to watch. The bookcase leading to the living room is filled with some favorites, and the coat closet has a few board games you are welcome to use. Please enjoy!brbrThe second floor of the house features three spacious, carpeted bedrooms, and two full bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms have queen size beds, the master bedroom features a king size bed. All have large closets and drawers for folded clothes, as well as two windows for light and views. Each bedroom is private with a door that locks. The two full baths feature bath tubs, perfect for soaking or washing little ones, and removable, hand-held shower heads. Be sure to stagger showers so there is plenty of hot water for all. This house is fed by a well that brings filtered water into the house at 40 degrees, which can take some time to heat.brbrThis house is warm and inviting. Our family has had many fun weekends and great memories from this house. Stock car racing enthusiasts will enjoy going to the Mountain View Speedway, less than a mile away from the cabin. Please be advised that a long-term road widening project is currently underway nearby. As a result, construction activity may also be audible during your stay. brbrThe Watauga River begins its 60 mile journey on the northern slopes of Grandfather Mountain and flows generally north and west into Watauga Lake on the North Carolina - Tennessee border. The word Watauga is derived from the Cherokee word Watagi meaning beautiful waters or whispering waters. This dynamic riparian zone is actually a migration corridor for many varieties of fish, birds and animals and plays a significant role in preserving biodiversity.brbrDuring good weather you can explore the river or try your luck at catching a variety of trout such as brook, brown or rainbow. This section of the Watauga River is now privately stocked and is exceptional for fly fishing! All fishing is single artificial lure, catch and release only. Live or scented baits are not permitted. Fly fishing guide services are available upon request. When it rains, the river rises and the kayakers come out to shoot the rapids.brbrA Paradise Found and A River Runs Through It are two log cabins that comprise a 2.75 acre complex with the Watauga River running through the center of the property. Thank you for not asking for an exception.br- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a starter set of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, a couple garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. br- Firewood may be purchased at the time of booking or with a week's notice. You receive two wrapped, kiln-dried bundles and a firestarter for $25 plus tax.br- Towels and linens will be provided for you.br- AWD or 4WD vehicles are recommended year round, and REQUIRED in winter months. A 75 inch TV, with video game consoles and comfortable seating, is situated next to a wooden game table, perfect for a late-night poker game. Two of the couches in the loft pull out into queen beds (if extra space is needed). brbrLower Level: brbrBlackberry Vista's lower level contains the home's other 4 bedrooms, as well as two full baths. The second master, in the northern corner of the house, has a king bed set, en suite bath, and flat screen TV. The 8-foot sliding glass door leads out to a private patio, surrounded by a wooded garden and firepit. brbrTwo other suites on the lower floor each have king bed sets and direct mountain views. The final room downstairs is usually the choice of our younger guests...featuring a twin over twin bunk and a twin loft bed that doubles as a fort for the little mountaineers to enjoy. There is also another crib in this room. brbrThe secondary living room is located on the bottom floor as well, with ample seating and a custom electric fireplace and 75 inch TV mounted on the floor-to-ceiling stone mantle. brbrBeyond the bedrooms, on Blackberry Vista's lower level, there is a movie theater decorated with vintage theater curtains and carpet. The 7 oversized leather recliners and 85 in movie screen with surround sound make for an incredible experience. On the northern wing of the lower level, the cabin also contains a 4 person sauna, perfect for relaxing in the wintertime. Blackberry Vista's most impressive feature, which is located back on the main floor, might be the 900 square foot garage arcade and game room.
