Centrally located with the Blue Ridge Parkway in the backyard (literally!) and Downtown Asheville just a few minutes away.brbrPlease note that the mountain roads in this area are winding and steep, and you will encounter wildlife. There is a short gravel driveway that is steep and somewhat rough (improvements coming!), so 4-wheel drive vehicles are required during periods of inclement weather. Due to our location, snowplows can take several days to reach the neighborhood. Guests are responsible for tracking expected weather during their stay and planning accordingly. Refunds will not be given for weather-related changes/cancellations outside of our already-generous cancellation policy.brbr-Please review the lease agreement which becomes binding at booking under “House Rules”br br-Due to insurance liability, we are unable to rent to anyone under 25 years old. There must be someone at least 25 years old present in order to rent our home, and photo ID will be required prior to check-in. New users to the Airbnb platform will be greeted in person at check-in to verify identity and IDs.br br-No parties allowed! Parties are strictly banned across the entire Airbnb platform. Also, we are in a quiet residential community. Neighbors will not hesitate to report excessive noise to the police and to us. Immediate eviction with *no refund* will result if there is a party on the property.br br-Verizon has the best cell reception at the cabin. T-Mobile gets very little. AT&T is somewhere in the middle. Please plan accordingly.brbr-Please note that the fireplace is inoperable at this time, but we have just installed a gorgeous new forest firepit outside! Please feel free to burn any sticks found on the forest floor (there are lots!), or firewood can be purchased down the mountain at Ingles Market. br br-Bears live on the land and are frequent visitors. They are awfully cute, but please don`t approach. They will leave you alone if you leave them alone, and never get between a mama bear and her cubs! They are clever and know how to open house and car doors, even the hot tub cover. Lock all doors/covers, and don`t leave any food in your car, or you may encounter a furry surprise!br br-Nature abounds in the forest! Wooded areas are home to critters such as but not limited to bears, deer, squirrels, rodents, spiders, ants, and insects. We are contracted with a pest control company with regularly scheduled treatments... but alas, Mother Nature reigns, and bugs and critters thrive out here. Please understand the possibility of seeing critters in and around the home, and that their presence does not entitle the guest to a refund.br br-For guests arriving in winter, early spring or late fall, please be mindful of the weather. The gravel drive is steep, and the road leading to the cabin is narrow and curvy in spots and may become icy. A 4-wheel drive or AWD vehicle is necessary in winter weather. br br-No smoking in the house. If you need to smoke, please do so outside and properly dispose of waste. Take care to ensure embers are not left to smolder in forest leaf pilings or other flammable surfaces.brbr-Free WiFi is included. Please note that means downloading content like email and light streaming is usually okay, but heavy multiple users or upload-heavy (outgoing) content like Zoom is more difficult. So that means no Zoom meetings while on vacay, folks! Do not unplug or alter the router or modem or any electronic devices in any way. Before checking out please remember to log out of streaming services if you used them with your account (Netflix, Disney, etc.). brbr-Maximum capacity is limited to 8 folks, including children. The cabin is on a septic system (like much of the local area), so exceeding capacity would mean an overloaded septic system, which means open sewage issues which... ew. Things to note: If you are traveling with 4 people, there is space to accommodate but it will be tight in the living and sleeping area, hopefully you all like each other! TV has Roku with Prime and Netflix, not local channels for some sports and such, of course tons of breweries to walk to with games showing. No pets and no smoking and no parties on premises. Please be honest with the number of guests you bring. Be respectful of noise level. Park and walk everywhere downtown. Access to entire apartment with private bath and kitchen. The only shared space is the hallway to apartment door. We are typically not available to meet at check in time but sometimes pass in the hall and love to chat a moment. Two covered patios, one with a 4 person hot tub spa that is situated on the deck for maximum viewing pleasure. A screened in porch is on the other side of the deck and allows amazing views while providing protection from rain. The well-equipped kitchen with a center island has all the large stainless steel modern appliances: dishwasher, microwave, electric stove/oven, coffee makers (a Keurig AND traditional coffee maker) and basic spices. This custom designed home has two beautifully decorated bedrooms on the main floor, both with king sized beds, attached bathrooms and direct access to the outside deck. These bedrooms have vintage reclaimed wood walls (from a generations old barn in Tennessee!) Smart TVs, dressers and large closets. The loft bedroom also has a king sized bed, Smart TV and bathroom and if you leave the barn door open, you will awake to the most amazing view of the mountains you can ever hope to see. Some well appointed touches include ceiling fans in all living/sleeping areas, only 100% cotton bed and bath linens, comfy leather furniture to relax on and a 65 great room Smart flat screen with streaming TV and Netflix. The dining table seats eight comfortably and looks out over the incredible mountain vista. The gas fireplace in the great room provides additional warmth for those chilly nights and the home has central A/C for those balmy mountain evenings. Gas grill, all weather resin dining table/chairs for outside dining and lots of comfortable deck furniture from which to soak in the incredible view. Dog friendly (please, no cats), you can bring your pups -up to two for a $75 dog fee. For those who can’t leave the tech world behind, Blue Vista has reliable WiFi and cell phone service here is reliable. All of our properties are dog friendly and have fenced in, secure yards for your pups!brbrLively, downtown Asheville is 10 minutes away and has an abundance of shops and Art Galleries and its restaurants are world famous. Nearby Merrimon Avenue has multiple restaurants and shops within 5 minutes of the house. Hiking, rafting and zip lining is in all directions. brbrThe road to the Blue Vista (including the driveway) is mostly paved with the exception of .4 mile section which is gravel and road bonded. This section can get a little bumpy especially after a big rain storm. The upper .4 mile section which is paved all the way to the house, is somewhat steep and is a single lane road.
