We've made it our own since, and we open it to a small number of guests each year. We want your stay to feel exactly the way ours does.brbrOn the water: You're sitting on 100 feet of private shoreline on Long Lake, one of the premier recreational lakes in Maine. Eleven miles long, a mile wide, with clean water and no invasive aquatic plants - it's the kind of lake that rewards a whole week of exploring. A short path from the house leads directly to a T-shaped dock with a swim ladder and room for two boats. Kayaks, a paddleboard, and lake loungers are waiting at the water's edge. When the day winds down, gather around the lakeside fire pit with Adirondack chairs tucked into the trees right at the shoreline.brbrThe house: Four bedrooms, sleeps 10, three bathrooms. The main living area centers on a gas fireplace with a reclaimed wood accent wall, with large windows that flood the room with natural light and open directly onto the screened porch and deck. The kitchen is built for real cooking: butcher block island with seating for four, pro-style range, and reclaimed beam ceiling. We furnished this house for ourselves, and that care shows throughout. The dining room table is a solid walnut piece from Pompanoosuc Mills, and the walls feature work by local artists including photographer Darylann Leonard.brbrThe bedrooms: The two main-floor queen bedrooms are well-appointed and quiet, one with an en suite bathroom. Downstairs, a beautiful king bedroom looks directly out to the lake, the one guests tend to fight over. Also on the ground floor, a custom camp-themed bunk room sleeps four, with built-in wood bunks, a log-post ladder, and enough personality that the kids will claim it on arrival.brbrOutside: The screened porch is a genuine room unto itself: two-person bar seating with a pass-through window to the kitchen, string lights, and a ceiling fan.
