Our main home on the property is 1769 Georgian-style home, accompanied by a large barn & carriage house. This historic home, built by Samuel Montgomery, an early resident and the owner of a saw & gristmill, boasts frontage on Mill Pond plus a 4-acre fresh-water pond. The seven-bay carriage house, built in 2002, derives from regional design and renovated into a stunning residence rental in 2020. We are a three minute car ride from Ocean Point one of the most beautiful areas around for walking, painting and photo taking. 5 minutes drive into the town of Boothbay Harbor full of shops and wonderful restaurants. We are about an hour from Portland, 25 minutes from Wiscasset, 30 minutes to Damerscotta, 45 minutes give or take a few to Camden and about 3 hours from Boston. Three (3) bedrooms, 5 beds, and 2.5 new bathrooms; this home offers classic features with modern touches.brbrWith nearly 2,500 square feet, this home offers plenty of room and privacy for you and your guests. There is ample private parking. We have window A/C downstairs and in each of the bedrooms. There are just a few hot days in summer.brbrEach of the three bedrooms (located upstairs) have comfortable beds with a queen size bed in the primary, a queen size bed in the second room, and two twin beds in the third room. The primary bedroom has a four poster bed and an en suite bathroom. The upstairs has another full bathroom. All bathrooms are stocked with amenities such as soap, shampoo/conditioner, and body wash.brbrThere is a sofa bed with a Bob-O-Pedi mattress in the downstairs sunroom with a barn door for added privacy. brbrThere is a large eat-in kitchen with all the amenities you could need, including quality pots and equipment for a classic New England lobster boil. We provide a Keurig and a Cuisinart gold filter coffee maker and a coffee grinder. We have a new electric five-burner stove. You can enjoy your meals on the private and large deck facing the back yard which incudes a gas bbq. All bbq equipment is provided, including a spare tank of gas. We provide all basic kitchen amenities including spices, oils, trash bags, foil, plastic wrap, etc.brbrThere are 2 sets of stairs to the upstairs bedrooms, including one directly into the primary bedroom. Additionally, there are two steps on the first floor, one of which is a step up into the kitchen and another step down into the sunken living room. These steps are well marked for your safety.brbrOn one side of the yard, there is a 8 foot deep pool which is fully covered and fenced around the entire permitter. The fence is locked and the pool is not used. There are signs around the pool to not enter. Residents and guests can walk, run, cycle or drive a lovely 2-mile oceanfront loop called the Shore Road.brbrGuests will find that Bay Ridge Cottage has recently undergone a complete renovation. In addition to the kitchen, dining, living, full bath, and music rooms on the first floor with a beautiful large front porch to enjoy the natural environment!brbrThere are 3 bedrooms and a full bath on the second floor. Bedroom one has a king-size bed, bedroom 2 has a queen-size bed, and bedroom 3 has a queen-size bed and twin bunk beds. Together, the bedrooms can accommodate 6 adults and 2 children. For the fun of it, children (or anyone else) can take advantage of the two roll-away beds (with mattresses) in the bunk house, just across the breezeway from the kitchen. brbrRoughly 100 yards from the house is the entrance to Linekin and Burley Preserves, two adjacent preserves that in total protect 138 wooded acres and 651 feet of waterfront. Here you can hike the nearly 3 miles of trails over a rocky ridge to the Damariscotta River. The trails wind through a forest of old hardwood and pine, and along streams and ponds, from the Linekin Bay side of the peninsula to the Damariscotta side. Virtually all the other Boothbay region’s attractions - Maine State Aquarium, Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, beaches, boating, and restaurants - are only minutes away.brbrJust a 3 minute drive down Murray Hill Road is Linekin Bay Boat Launch where guests are welcome to launch kayaks or small personal boats.
