This is a cozy, warm, welcoming and relaxing place to call home during your time here in Steamboat Springs. The first bedroom features a Queen sized bed, a ceiling fan, closet, and its own private bathroom. It is only about two to three hundred meters from the heart of our base area - Steamboat Square. This includes both Gondolas, the Christie Express Lift, the ticket office, ski school,and so much more. Within about 100 meters of The Terraces, you'll find restaurants, groceries, ski rentals, and Storm Peak Brewing's “Bus Stop” beer hall. Walking to all of this or anywhere in the base area is easy. Burgess Creek flows down the ski mountain, through the base area, and right past this building. The Burgess Creek trail, which is right outside, leads directly to the slopes. Head the other direction, and the trail connects you to the Yampa River, the Yampa River Core Trail, and beyond. From here you can walk, run, stroll or bike onto national forest trails, to the botanic park, to downtown Steamboat, to parks and playgrounds, take your pick. Activities and dining options abound throughout the ski area base. There are often special events and free concerts in Steamboat Square. You're close to all of this, but not too close. Make the short walk home to your relaxing retreat and enjoy the amenities. brbrArrival, Accessibility, and Parking:brOnce you book, we're here to support you. We will provide you with arrival instructions, and answer any specific questions you might have. Thanks to the elevator, accessing this property does not require stairs, but if that elevator was ever out of service, you'd only need to go up one level to reach the condo. Once inside, the condo is all one level. Free parking is provided onsite. That said, if you're coming in ski season, consider that you really don't need a car at all. brbrArrival, Access, Transportation, Shuttles and Parking:br– Accessing the property: Contactless Self Check In. When you arrive you'll stop at the building's entrance to pick up your key. From the underground parking garage, go up the elevator or stairs, 2 levels, to enter the condo. From the outdoor parking, you go down a few steps then up the elevator or stairs one level to enter the condo. Once inside, the condo is a single level. br– Transportation & Shuttles: In ski season, the HOA provides a private shuttle with service to and from the Gondola Transit Center. The city has lots of free buses running around town as well, with multiple stops within about 150 meters of the building. The ski area base and mountain village area is walkable from your door. There are also companies with shuttles for “out of town” activities such as snowmobiling, sleigh ride dinners or the Strawberry Park Hot Springs. So in ski season, you really don't need a car, and if you bring one, it might just sit in the garage. Guests visiting in spring, summer, or fall may also find a car unnecessary unless you're headed out of town to a remote trailhead or state park.br– Parking: If you do bring a car, you'll have 1 reserved, assigned space in the underground garage. Additional parking is available outside, and is available on a first come, first served basis. So, the parking situation is good. That said, please limit your group to 1 vehicle, if possible, and remember, when you stay here in ski season, you really don't need a car at all. Finally, please note, trailers are not allowed and oversized or wide vehicles may not fit. br– 4WD vehicle information: The roads in Steamboat Springs which lead to and from this property are generally easy to navigate and well maintained. However, please note that your route to the area may include a mountain pass. Consider this condo your home away from home while you visit Steamboat Springs. We really mean that because this place is OUR home away from home and we are happy to share it with you. We really consider you our guests in the true sense of the word. This is is not just a VRBO but rather a vrbHo (vacation rental by HOMEowner) as VRBO was meant to be. We are not a management company nor do we have many properties so we concentrate on making this place of ours as clean, comfortable and inviting for us (and now for you) as possible. brbrOur third floor home offers east views of the sunrise for your morning coffee and directly across the road is a natural game trail tucked between a few of our neighbor's homes where moose and fox are often seen coming down to look for food and see what's about. Please do note there are not elevators and thus this condo may not suit those whom are limited physically especially in elevation. The views and space are worth the climb, but please consider that before booking with us. brbrThe primary bedroom on the first floor has a comfortable queen bed with extra linens and covers for your comfort in the closet. The second bedroom is a loft with 2 new double beds right next to the upstairs full bathroom with a bathtub and shower (Epsom salts included!) :) brbrBoth bathrooms are fully equipped with hair dryers in each and liquid soap if you wish to pack light and aren't picky about your personal products. Any items that are in our medicine cabinet are there for your comfort and use. If you need something you've forgotten, please look in the cabinets and feel free to use the items including shampoo, floss, sunscreen, contact lens solution or ibuprofen (if you've played too hard all day!) :). If we've left it out in the common spaces, it is there to be shared. brbrOur kitchen is your kitchen. Utilize the pantry staples if you want to bake or stay in and cook lunch or dinner (although there are so many options for great eating out a short walk up the mountain it'll be hard to resist eating out every meal!) There is a coffee maker (of course!!!) and a fully stocked kitchen. You won't find cheap Walmart silverware or dishes in our condo as found in other condos that are merely investment over-used short term rental properties. Every item here from kitchen wares, linens, and art on the walls are things we've selected to be used, cared for and enjoyed. We hope you'll notice and enjoy these details as we do when we are here. brbrThere is a large dining room table with room for 6-8 to dine and visit plus 3 additional bar stools for a quick bite at the kitchen counter. We've always got a puzzle going on one end of the dining room table. Feel free to help with the one that is going or finish it and start a new one! brbrThere are books, puzzles, playing cards and games in the drawers and cabinets. Nose about and find something new or familiar to do or play! There is one tv in our condo (we like it quiet!) and wifi for connecting to work or socials though Steamboat will make you want to disconnect from all of that!brbrAmenities and conveniences:br*Four season heated swimming pool and 2 large hot tubs for use by all Rockies guestsbr*Rec center with a TV and large lounge area including a small work out room and ping pong (of course!)br*Outdoor grills next to the rec center for use in the summer/fall monthsbr*Laundry room attached to the rec center with a change machine for exchanging bills (you are welcome to use our laundry detergent if you have a couple small loads to do)br*The city bus/shuttle picks up right at the stop in front of our unit. It runs every 20 minutes and will take you up to the mountain with your skis and boards or take you downtown for an evening out. See the schedule at the app called Route ShoutbrbrSafety considerations specific to our condo: br*As stated at the top; our condo is on the third floor and requires some physical exertion to walk up (especially with luggage and at elevation)br*Our condo was built in the early 70s and building parameters have changed. The loft and stair railings have space between them that a small child may be able to fit through. Please consider this if you book with children and plan for safety accordinglybr*Similarly, our window in the primary bedroom opens to screens which are not weight bearing. If you have curious toddlers or children please consider pulling the window guard we have stashed under the bed and securing it in the window for the duration of your stay.
