Please read on for more details. brbrThe Property:brThe best thing about this condo has to be the views. Perched on a ridge, the building has a commanding position and panoramic views. This condo faces south, which gives it good natural light as well those incredibly good views of the Steamboat Ski Resort. The views stretch from the upper mountain to the base area ski slopes, across the Yampa Valley all the way to the Flat Tops Wilderness. At this condo, when you look out the windows or relax on the balcony, you can take in the beauty of this amazing place! If you're in town during one of the torchlight parades or fireworks displays, you'll have a prime viewing position, but any time of year, the views alone make this a great place to call home. brbrThe condo is laid out over two levels. Upstairs is the first bedroom suite, which has quite an ample size. It easily accommodates a King bed, matching bedside tables, dresser and an armchair with ottoman. On the dresser is a very large HDTV which makes the armchair or bed a great place to enjoy some entertainment. This large bedroom is a true suite, with a private bathroom that is also a generous size. The upper level of the condo is also home to the loft, which includes a Twin over Twin bunk bed and TV. The loft has doors to make it visually private and has a half wall that allow you to look down upon the living room. Guests who sleep in the loft can either share the bathroom within Bedroom 1, or if those staying in Bedroom 1 are sleeping, you just go down to the main level, where one of the bathrooms is off the hallway rather than inside a bedroom.brbrThe main level of the condo includes bedrooms 2 and 3 as well as 2 full bathrooms, plus the living, dining, and kitchen areas. Bedroom 2 is also pretty large, and feels even bigger than it is thanks to the 15+ foot vaulted ceilings. This bedroom has a Queen bed and private bathroom. The third bedroom offers yet another large bedroom space. It has a Twin over Twin bunk bed, an armchair, plus a futon. Just like bedroom 2, this room has 15+ foot high vaulted ceilings, which makes sleeping on the top bunk feel quite spacious. A full bathroom right across the hall offers access for those staying in bedroom 3 as well as those in the loft, if you prefer to keep the upper bathroom private within Bedroom 1. brbrThe condo features a full kitchen with everything you need to prepare meals or apres ski snacks. It features stainless steel appliances, tile backsplash, great lighting, nice cabinets, and a barnwood island with log barstools. The log barstools match the adjacent log dining table, and the beautiful floors throughout the main floor give it a nice flow with a consistent look and feel. The living room has a very comfy couch and additional seating positioned to allow you to enjoy the gas fireplace, HDTV, and those amazing views. brbrLocation:brThe Ridgecrest condos are located right above Ski Time Square and Gondola Square. Some guests might consider walking down to the base area in the summer. The elevation which gives this condo such spectacular views over and across the base area also means that you're walking downhill to the base area, but more importantly, uphill coming home. So, you might walk down and then hire an Uber, Lyft, or the local Go Alpine taxi for the way home. For guests without a car, these options represent an affordable pay for what you use option, which can be so much better than paying for high price lodging with a free private shuttle service. The walk to and from the base area includes sections without a sidewalk, and a short section which is pretty steep, so we do not recommend making this walk in the winter, if you have kids, if you're not in very good physical condition, when it is icy, or if you have a car. The Steamboat Ski Resort has free parking at the Meadow and Knoll lots, both of which are very convenient to this property and the Gondola. brbrArrival, Access, and Parking:brOnce you book, we're here to support you. The ground level is parking, and you go up 3 floors to enter the condo. While it takes some effort to get in, you'll have no one walking around in a unit above, and the views couldn't be better. First Tracks at Wildhorse is known as the most affordable lodging option in the Wildhorse Meadows development. When you book this unit, you'll have access to all of the facilities, for a low nightly rate. Amenities include the very large heated pool, the hot tubs, fitness center, game room, and of course, the Wildhorse Gondola! The condo itself has some great features too. Please read on for more details.brbrThe Property:brThe main living space is an open concept floorplan which combines the living room, dining room, and kitchen into one big room. As you enter, you'll find a bench with shoe and boot storage underneath, cubbies to store your hats, goggles and mittens, and hooks for your coats. There's a built in desk for working remotely, plus a front loading washer and dryer so you can travel light or clean and dry out your gear when you like. The kitchen is a good size. It is fully equipped and then some, with bonus items you don't find in every kitchen, such as the crockpot. Who doesn't like to come home to a hearty soup or stew after a day of adventure For dining or serving up apps and drinks, there is seating for 4 at the kitchen bar and 4 more at the dining table. The living room has a large leather sofa with chaise lounge and an ottoman that can provide some additional seating for larger groups. There's a large HDTV for your entertainment plus some board games as well. Bring along an HDMI cable and you can connect your tablet or laptop to the TV and stream the content of your choice. Finally, there is a pretty large covered deck with views of surrounding mountains, and with southern exposure, you might catch one of Steamboat's renowned alpenglow sunsets.brbrThe 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms are on opposite sides of the living room, providing a good separation of space, a little privacy. The master suite is large, easily accommodating a King size bed, and the ample closet means you can put away your luggage with room to spare. There's also an HDTV and large windows for natural light. The master has a private bathroom that includes new tile floors, a vanity with lots of counter space, and a shower/tub combo. The second bedroom is also a good size. It has 3 beds. There's a Full over Full bunk bed, plus an extra Twin bed . Some call Full beds Double beds. Either way, they're 6 foot 3 inches long and 54 inches wide. So they can work for a couple, and are a lot wider than a Twin bed. With 2 Full beds and 1 Twin bed, this room could work for 3 kids, 3 single adults, one couple, a couple plus a kid or two, even a couple who are fighting! Of course there shouldn't be much to fight about, when you're vacationing here. Go relax in the hot tubs! This bedroom does have a TV of its own and lots of closet space too. Enjoy!brbrLocation:brWildhorse Meadows is just down the hill from Gondola Square. This First Tracks condo is about 150 to 175 yards from the Wildhorse Gondola, which runs morning to night during the ski season only. There is no way you'll need a car or shuttle to get to and from the slopes. The walk is easy, but you can make it even easier by storing your skis and boots in Gondola Square. If you're renting equipment, we have discounts with multiple rental shops, and free storage is part of the deal. There's a lot more you can walk to than the Wildhorse Gondola. You have some great hills for sledding, the Brick restaurant and bar, the Steamboat Tennis Center, Strings in the Mountains Music pavilion, and the shops, restaurants, and movie theaters found in the Wildhorse marketplace. There's also easy access to the Casey's Pond, the Yampa River and the Yampa River Core Trail. Guests can gather around the fireplaces in each of the living areas and enthrall each other with the stories from their day’s adventures. brbrMeanwhile, the chefs are indulging their culinary creativity in the gourmet kitchens. Apex Lodge North’s stunning and fully equipped gourmet kitchen features luxury appliances, a separate beverage center and two dishwashers. A gate connects the back decks and can be opened to allow guests to flow between the two spaces. brbrThe fun begins on the lower levels of these residences. Each has a large comfortable family room with a fireplace, big screen TV, and pool table. Apex Lodge North also has an arcade game, while Apex Lodge South features a theater room on the lower level. Movie night doesn’t get much better than this with three rows of plush recliner seating for 14 people and excellent acoustics. Recessed lighting, classic theater carpet, red walls, and a snack bar create a classic theater feel. The South residence also has a dedicated exercise room. brbrOnce everyone is ready to call it a night, there are 12 bedrooms between the two homes. brbrIn Apex Lodge North the kids will delight in the bunk room on the lower level. It sleeps eight in four sets of twin/twin bunks and has an ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower. There is also a bedroom with a queen bed and a separate bathroom with a walk-in shower. br brOn the main level, are three king bedrooms, all ensuite (one with a separate tub), and each has private deck access. The upper level of the home is dedicated to the primary suite with a custom log bed, a big stone fireplace, and spectacular views. This private escape is topped off with a spacious ensuite bathroom with a separate tub, walk-in dual-head shower and separate vanities for the ultimate spa-like experience. br brApex Lodge South features two bunkrooms on the lower level, one with two twin bunks and a queen bed with a private bath, and the other with a twin-over-full bunk and a hall bath. br brAnother 3 bedrooms (one king, two queens) are on the main level, all of them ensuite. The king suite has a soaking tub and steam shower, and access to the back patio and hot tub. As in the North residence, the upper level is dedicated to the primary king suite with the same fabulous views, fireplace and TV. Indulge in the soaking tub and walk-in steam shower. br brFor guests' convenience, both residences have closed door offices, air conditioning, laundry rooms and large mud rooms as you come in from the garages. The homes share the same driveway. Each garage has parking for two cars. Apex Lodge North has a Tesla home charging station. brbrFor smaller groups of up to 16 guests, we can offer the option of the North or South lodges individually. Please note these homes are not connected internally and access to each side is through the entry level door, garage, or up a set of stairs to the main front door. brbrFour-wheel drive is required in winter months. However, this home does feature a heated driveway. brbrSKI ACCESS brThe residences share a private, heated stairway to ski access for advanced skiers and is dependent on snow conditions. Lower Valley View is a 5–7-minute walk. From the top of the trail, skiing/riding down the slopes is an intermediate-level run down to the base. The return to Apex Lodge North is via Lower Valley View, a BLACK Diamond run, recommended only for advanced skiers. Please note that Lower Valley View is a south-facing, lower-mountain ski trail. Opening and closing dates are seasonal and snow-dependent.
