Lake Forest Glen is located on the Lake Tahoe side of the main road and is within walking distance to Skylandia or Lake Forest Beach. The Lake Forest public boat ramp is less than 1 mile from our front door. You can bike or walk into town on the paved path around the corner from our private cul de sac.brbr Great hiking is abundant in and around Tahoe City and can be found as close as the meadow in our backyard or a short drive to the west shore, Palisades, or Donner Pass. For winter enthusiasts you are located within a 15 to 30-minute drive from four major ski resorts including Palisades Tahoe, Alpine Meadows, Homewood, and Northstar. Tahoe XC Center is located less than a mile, up the road or you can cross-country ski in the meadow right out our back door.br brOur lovely updated condo includes four bedrooms decorated in a cabin/cottage style. The primary bedroom has a queen-size bed, an en-suite bathroom with a shower, and a beautiful meadow view. The second guest room also has a queen bed and shares the main hall bathroom (which includes a shower ) with the third bedroom. The 'cowboy bunk room' has a double mattress bottom bunk and a twin-size top bunk. The fourth bedroom is on the main level and has two twin beds. There is a full bath with a shower on the main level. All of the upstairs bedrooms have streaming TV. The fourth bedroom creates the perfect space for any guests who prefer to feel separated from the rest of the group or do not want to climb the stairs. The main living area has a beautifully updated galley kitchen. The kitchen includes a ten-foot-long granite dining bar, a dishwasher, and a stacked washer and dryer. The kitchen is outfitted with small appliances, pots and pans, and utensils that a chef would need. There is no indoor dining space, other than the bar and around the coffee table. During the summer months, you can enjoy meals at the large outdoor table on our spacious deck overlooking the meadow.brbrOut the back door, is a large deck with a table that seats six, as well as other seating and a bench that runs the length of the deck. We also have a gas grill that can be used year-round.brbrTahoe City is a wonderful, quaint, small-town community. It is the only 'walking' town around the entire lake. Although our little town is less than a mile long, this town has everything a visitor needs. Besides the two grocery stores, a CVS, and a post office for convenience, there are recreational and ski shops for all your activity needs. You will find ski and snowboard rentals, ski clothing, bike, kayak, and paddleboard stores. There is a gym that faces out over the lake and several places to drop in on a yoga class, even right on the lake with a rented paddleboard! Others may be glad to find great clothing boutiques, art galleries, jewelry stores, and T-shirt/souvenir shops. There are two interesting museums in town and the historic Fanny Bridge to view the dam releasing lake water into the Truckee River. You will find several great pubs and restaurants located along our main street and on the lakefront around the Tahoe City Marina and Yacht Club. Every Sunday afternoon in the summer, you will hear the sounds of live music coming from the lakefront at the free concert on Commons Beach. There is always a fun crowd of local families mixed with visiting tourists and children of all ages. All are enjoying light fare from local vendors, and picnics brought from home. brbrIf you are not a skier or hiker you still will find endless fun things to do. At the entry level is another bedroom with a queen bed and bathroom with shower. The beds are dressed in crisp cotton sheets with fluffy down comforters and pillows. Half a flight upstairs is the living and dining room, kitchen and deck. The living area is open to the loft above, which has 2 twin beds. The loft is accessible by a sturdy, built-in ladder (probably not be suitable for very young children, but perfect for older children and teens to have their own space ).br brThe living area has a wood burning fireplace (wood not supplied) and a fully equipped kitchen. Other amenities include wifi, cable HDTV, beach and picnic supplies, washer/dryer, and an array of games and books.br brAt the entry to the Villas (a 2 minute walk from our unit) is a bike/walking trail to town and points beyond such as the trail along the Truckee River or along the lake to Sugar Pine Point. Ski areas such as Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, and Homewood are about 15 minutes away. Tahoe City has many fine restaurants, shopping and museums. Local beaches and parks such as Skylandia Beach and Tahoe City Commons are a short distance by foot, bike or car. There is a weekly farmer's market at the Commons, as well as music and activities on summer holidays. br brThe Clubhouse at the Villas has a lovely pool in a park setting with tall pines, tennis courts, and a sauna, which is included for guests. We are right next to the bike trail that takes you into Tahoe City and along the West Shore or up along the Truckee River. We are close to skiing at Palisades/Alpine, Northstar and Homewood, ice skating in Tahoe City, and lots of opportunities for cross country skiing, snowshoeing, sledding, and snowball fights!brbrOurs is a two-story end unit with lots of light and privacy! The master suite has its own bathroom, walk-in closet and overlooks the meadow. Our furnishings are comfortable and represent the true mountain ambiance you desire for your home away from home! We have a stone fireplace, a full kitchen with granite counters, hickory cabinets, gas stove, stainless side by side fridge, dishwasher, microwave and disposal, full separate laundry room...all overlooking the fabulous view! brbrWe have a smallish flat screen HD Smart TV, DVD player, bluetooth speaker, and high speed wireless internet. Our deck overlooks the meadow and has an all-weather table and chairs as well as a propane BBQ. The deck is south and west facing, so it is great for sunning, entertaining and watching great sunsets.
