I am a fully licensed and Transport Canada certified charter captain. If booking for the summer months I would advised booking well in advance as the dates fill up very quick through other travel agencies, boat tour companies, and the hotels that use my service. This is an extra service, billed through Airbnb's online payment system. brbrDOORBELL CAMERA: I have a doorbell security camera at the front entry door which only views the public hallway outside my unit (just as there are security cameras in our elevators), to assists guests in connecting with me if needed, and discourage parties. brbrFINAL NOTES: As Canada's warmest climate, Vancouver (like L.A. in the states for example, and many large urban cities), encounters a noticable homeless population. The Crosstown area is right downtown and a very safe area, but you will most likely encounter someone who appears homeless or experiencing addiction issues or panhandling in the neighborhood. There is 24 hour security at our building that you can phone if there are any issues of concern. And if you are someone bothered by the sight of or interactions with these people, I would recommend looking at one of the city's central expensive hotels, although this issue does extend to all of downtown.brbrAlso, please bring your Costco card with you if you have one, as the Vancouver store is just across the street outside the back door (across from Rogers Arena)!brbrEASTER EGGS! brbrIf you got this far, you may have guessed the theme for the images on the TVs ...they are all movies or TV shows filmed in Vancouver. We live in the heart of Chinatown and although it is very vibrant, fantastic, and safe you will see homeless people and people in active addiction in the neighborhood. For the most part, these folks are harmless, but it can be sad and heartbreaking to see. There are multiple reasons for this - far too many to delve into here; all three levels of government are working on making it better. While our suite is several blocks south of the epicenter you are likely to encounter homelessness or addiction issues. Please note this is prevalent throughout downtown Vancouver, and if you are uncomfortable with these encounters you may prefer to stay at a high-end hotel or choose a property outside of downtown. We have lived in the neighborhood for over 12 years and have never experienced any violence or problems and neither have any of our guests.
