Phoenix, 3 Bedroom Woodland Cabin

Winthrop, Washington, United States

Summary:brbrPhoenix House is a generously sized three bedroom home located in the Liberty Woodlands community in the upper Methow Valley, situated at the base of Lucky Jim Bluff. Choose this cabin for its convenient location between Winthrop and Mazama, nearby trailheads for outdoor activities, and peaceful woodland setting with peek-a-boo views of the mountains and meadows. New groomed nordic ski trail access is planned for winter 2024/2025 to connect Liberty Woodlands to the Methow Trails system.brbrbrbrThe Space:brbrThe home features an open floor plan with high ceilings and gorgeous wood trim throughout. The main living area on the ground floor features a well equipped kitchen, built in dining table seating 7, and lounge area arranged around a wood-burning stove.brbrbrbrTwo of the three bedrooms are on the ground floor. The primary suite has a king bed and ensuite bathroom with a generously sized walk-in shower: sliding doors open onto a private deck. The downstairs guest bedroom has a queen bed and is adjacent to the downstairs guest bathroom. Also downstairs is a mudroom with laundry and ample space for boots and coats. brbrbrbrUpstairs is a bright day-lit loft area furnished with couch and desk, and with sliding doors opening onto a balcony looking out into the woodlands. The upstairs bedroom has a king bed. There is also a second guest bathroom upstairs.brbrbrbrThe Neighborhood:brbrLIBERTY WOODLANDSbrbrLiberty Woodlands is a community of residential and vacation homes, including a number of properties available as legal nightly rentals. Specific guidelines and policies that all guests and renters must adhere to at Liberty Woodlands include:brbrbrbr- 10 mph speed limit. This keeps the dust down and keeps kids, dogs, bikers, and walkers safe.brbr- Quiet hours after 10:00 PM.brbr- No tents, trailers, or RVs.brbr- Parking is not allowed on Liberty Lane or Ponderosa Lane. Please park in the driveway.brbr- Do not leave food or garbage outside. This attracts bears and other critters.brbrbrbrLiberty Woodlands will have access to a new groomed nordic ski trail linking to the Methow Trails system starting winter 2024/25. The trail will pass close to the cabin.brbrbrbrMAZAMAbrbrThe Phoenix is located 3.5 miles from the Mazama Store and the Methow Trails trailhead (for great hiking, mountain biking and cross-country ski trail options). In addition to the store with its great bakery and grocery, Mazama is home to the Goat’s Beard outdoor store (with mountain bike and fat bike rentals), the Mazama Ski School for cross country ski hire and lessons and the Mazama Public House. brbrbrbrWINTHROPbrbrThe old west town of Winthrop has great shopping, bakery and dining establishments; the Shafer Museum is definitely worth a visit to learn about the local history. Both ski and mountain bike rentals are available in town, and don’t forget the ice skating rink and Methow Rafting.brbrbrbrNORTH CASCADES NATIONAL PARKbrbrLiberty Woodlands is also conveniently situated for easy access to the North Cascades and the trailheads to many of the Park's world-class hiking trails. It’s a 20 minute drive to the Cutthroat Lake trailhead, 25 minutes to Washington Pass and 30 minutes to Maple Pass trailhead. Great for beating the crowds and snagging a trailhead parking spot at peak seasons.brbrbrbrGetting Around:brbrGetting Here: May to November, from Seattle and the westside, you can drive over State Route 20 and Washington Pass (check WSDOT for closures). Alternate, and winter routes from Seattle are via I90, Snoqualmie Pass and Blewett Pass, or via highway 2 over Stevens Pass (check WSDOT for driving conditions). Combine these routes and you have the scenic Cascade Loop. The nearest major airports are Spokane International Airport at 180 miles (year round) and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (190 miles in summer / 260 miles in winter). Regional flights are also available at Pangborn Memorial Airport in Wenatchee located 102 miles away.brbrbrbrGetting Around: Nearest trailhead to access the Methow Trails networks is just 2 miles down the road at Brown’s Farm where you can access the Methow Community Trail. The Mazama Store is 3.5 miles. Winthrop is 10 miles.brbrbrbrOther Things to Note:brbrPhoenix sleeps 6 guests in three bedrooms, two king beds and 1 queen size bed. Maximum occupancy is 6 adults.brbrbrbrThe three bathrooms all have walk-in showers and double sinks, however, there is no bathtub.brbrbrbrWIFI: the home has fast and reliable starlink wifi internet.brbrbrbrEV charger. The house has an Emporia Level 2 charger with a J1772 plug. The owners use this to charge their Tesla, using a Tesla (NACS) to J1772 adapter that they bring with them (please ensure that you bring the necessary adapters for your vehicle). brbrbrbrThis home does not have A/C, it does have ceiling fans and windows can be opened to provide cross-ventilation. There are also three box fans available for use.brbrbrbrThe garage is accessible to guests, and is equipped with a ping pong table and ski waxing bench for guest use (unfortunately there is no space for guest parking). brbrbrbrThere is NO TV brbrbrbrCoffee: there is a drip coffee maker and filters, plus a french press. There are a limited number of plow companies and Methow Reservations nor the owners of the house are in control of the plow company schedules. They have many different contracts and many miles of roads, driveways...to plow. If a plow person or a snow shoveler shows up to clear any area around the house, please do not argue with them or turn them away. Move your vehicles if asked. Your cooperation and patience are required especially after any significant snow accumulation. Should you get stuck you can call Classic Towing in Twisp, WAbrbr**Propane Fireplace--should there be tech issues or the propane fireplace upon your arrival please send a message through Airbnb.
