Spacious Cabin W/Lrg Fenced Yard in the Heart of Methow Valley

The place was as advertised and perfect for us. It is located very conveniently to several trail heads within 3 miles of the place. We love the fact that everything was labeled. We didn’t have to guess which switch turned the dining room light on. Our host was very responsive to any questions we had I would have liked it if the driveway had been plowed there was 6 to 8 inches of snow, which was manageable, but would’ve been nice if it was plowed out when we got there.

Staying at this place was a cool experience. The house had a historic vibe with modern amenities. Plenty of space for large families or groups. The private hiking trail was great for morning and evening walks. We especially appreciated how dog friendly this place was. The front half of the property is fully fenced even though the photos don’t quite show it, which was great for our two GSD’s.

Rating it 5 for location, cleanliness, amazing hosts, the great deck and general property appearance. However, I wanted to add some comments so people are aware of one drawback. The two upstairs bedrooms are great but they do not have windows that can open and the air conditioning is not great. Each room has a white stand up AC unit in the room that doesn't do great at keeping it cool if the days are around 80 and sunny and make a lot of noise when they cycle off and on at night. We tried leaving them off at night but with no windows to open it got very stuffy and warm even though temps outside were in the 50s at night. There are doors to balconies in each room for safe egress but one room didn't have a screen door and the other had one but it left large gaps where bugs and even small rodents could get in so we didn't feel comfortable leaving them open. At a different time of year or if you are someone that likes it warm to sleep or can sleep through very loud, inconsistent rattling the bedrooms would be great. I didn't want to penalize the house for our inability to sleep because it really is a great place and I suspect the AC is not an issue most of the year. We just happened to have a few days in the 80s while we were there.

6 old guys who told lies after 37 years of the same thing. Great place to sit out and contemplate what a perfect place on the planet we were in.

We did several hikes between the rental and Rainy Pass. Had a great time. This was a wonderful place!!

Wonderful stay, everything as described!

We had a wonderful wintery stay at this home in Mazama! The location was great and we enjoyed the fenced back yard which the dogs/kids could play and sled. The trail out back was a bonus. We loved the proximity to the XC ski trails and town.

We Loved this place! It had everything we needed for a wonderful cross country ski vacation. The only small issues-only one dish towel and the basement bedroom, which was very nice unfortunately had a chemical smell about it. I definitely recommend this place!!!

This rustic home holds a surprising number of people comfortably and is conveniently located a few miles from Mazama. A path through the aspens takes you down to the river and to the Methow Community Trail. Although the living room is a bit small, the dining table can feed everyone.dining

Wonderful property with several bedrooms. Although it was just my husband, my dog, and myself, I can see this being a good place for larger groups. The yard was perfect for dogs. The cabin was a short distance from Winthrop, a charming little town. There is a small trail behind the cabin.

We stayed two nights here as a spot to enjoy the North Cascades. Great kitchen.We did not use the lower level, although there was a lot of space down there. The circular staircase to the upper level looks cool, but is a bit tricky for anyone with bad knees. The back deck was wonderful, and the grill was fantastic. Opening the doors and just enjoying the outdoors was a treat.

Great accommodations for our family with adult children to hike the North Cascades. Kitchen well stocked for dinner “in” and location to Winthrop was close for dinner “out”. Beds were comfortable.

My wife and I share the same birthday and this year was her 40th! The Firefly cabin was just the place to use as home base while we celebrated, floated, shopped and enjoyed the beauty of the Methow Valley. Thank you Tomoko for having such a unique, clean, and great place!

This home was advertised exactly as we found it. The set up was perfect for getting together with our adult children and each of them had a great private room, comfy bed and nice space. The internet was great. The kitchen was fully set up. I enjoyed the little notes throughout the home so you knew what the owner expected and little things like retracting screen doors. Excellent property!

It was our 2nd time staying in this VRBO - very comfortable & such lovely air conditioning as it was in the 100’s. We hiked every day - kids & grandkids camped close by - we had such great family time! Oscar (our dog) was happy to roam free in the beautiful fenced yard! Thank you ?

The Firefly Cabin is a great place for people and their dogs. Nice fenced yard for dogs. The house was a bit big for us with only 4 people, so this would definitely be good for larger families. Location is close to the MCT and its easy to drive to other trailheads for Mt. Biking and hiking. We would love to visit in the winter to enjoy the nordic skiing.

The house was perfect for our annual 4th of July friend retreat. It had everything we needed. It was very hot so it was nice to have air conditioners in every bedroom.
