A cozy chic mountain escape

Luray, Virginia, United States

The Eden House is a destination nestled on Massanutten Mountain in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley. Take in the simple sounds of nature in this peaceful woodland escape located just outside Luray, Virginia and close to the George Washington National Forest. It is perfect for a family vacation, a small group gathering or a romantic retreat! We love kids but for safety, the property may be best suited for slightly older children.brbrThe main house is made up of an open living area with a master bedroom and en suite bathroom. There are two additional bedrooms and one full bathroom across the screened-in porch in a private guest house. The screened-in porch is almost as large as the living area and provides a shady summer retreat! There is also a spacious loft space with an additional tv and Wii gaming system. (The ladder to the loft space is steep and we do not recommend children under the age of 10 using it without parental supervision.) brbrYou can cook your own meals in our well-stocked kitchen and eat at our kitchen island or outdoor dining table. Cap off your day relaxing in the hot tub and later, a fire in the fire pit - outdoor camping chairs provided.brbrAdditional amenities:br6-person hot tubbrDrip coffee maker, filters providedbrThere is no dishwasher at the housebrOutdoor Propane grillbrFire pitbrSmart TV with DVD player and a library of DVDs availablebrGames available for usebrbrPlease use ONLY AWD/4WD vehicles to safely access the property, due to the mountain terrain. The drive up is gravel and bumpy. You will have access to the entire home including the loft space! Two twin beds are available in the loft, however no linens are provided so please bring your own sheets or sleeping bags for use. The owner storage areas are locked for your safety.brbrWe live at the bottom of the mountain and will not be at the house during your stay. Enjoy the privacy, but make sure to reach out if you need anything!brbrFor those who must remain connected, we do offer satellite internet but it will seem slow. It's sufficient for web browsing but not video conferencing (Zoom, etc.). During inclement weather the signal will get weaker so you may want to plan accordingly - we have board games, DVDs, yard games, a Wii gaming system and a Bluetooth speaker available for other entertainment - or just enjoy relaxing and unplugging! Cellphone data signals are decent with all major service providers.

Remote Riverfront Cabin: Hot Tub * Fast Wi-Fi * Disc Golf * Pool Table * Games!

Luray, Virginia, United States

Foxfire Glade Lodge is a comfortable 3-BR cabin on a beautiful piece of property consisting of 3 acres and 225 feet or waterfront on the Shenandoah River. Hit up the River Rat Run frisbee golf course and then kick back on the porch after a day of kayaking or tubing. We provide four solo kayaks, paddles, life jackets, and tubes for guests. You can play checkers or just relax, rocking on the porch swing, soaking in the sunset, and enjoying the riverside view. Spend the evening relaxing by the fire pit, for which we provide wood. In the winter time, come inside from the cold and cozy up by the indoor fire place. brbrWe are located approximately 35 minutes from Luray and 45 minutes from the Thornton Gap entrance of Shenandoah National Park outside of Sperryville. The Massanutten Trail, which includes Indian Grave Ridge and Kennedy Peak are nearby. The Massanutten ridge offers hikers a beautiful, tranquil hike that is less crowded than Shenandoah National Park. brbrAfter grilling out on the charcoal grill, you can gather around the fire pit for a cozy evening of stargazing and smores with friends and family. Maybe even try your luck fishing at the river!brbrFor off-road riding enthusiasts, there is Taskers Gap/Peter's Mill not far away. Go to a local gas station to get your pass, and then you're good to go for an epic day of trail riding!brbrIf you want to go canoeing, kayaking, or tubing, this is the place to do it! The Shenandoah River Outfitters company is approximately 15 minutes away. We have a few kayaks, and you can also bring your own boat and put your boat in the water and get out at several different points, including at the property! Inskeep Boat Launch is a large boat launch at the corner of Page Valley Rd and Bixler's Ferry Rd. Next you have Bealers Ferry Boat Launch and then Fosters Boat Ramp. The float from Inskeep to Bealers Ferry is 6 miles. It is approximately 2.5 miles from Bealers Ferry to Fosters Boat Ramp; from Fosters to the property, it is a 7 mile float. If you would rather not deal with taking two cars and hauling boats or tubes, Shenandoah River Outfitters is a great company, which will take you and pick you up at various spots on the river. Note: the Compton Rapids are a few miles after Fosters. They are a class II rapid, and you should wear your life vest if you are going to paddle through it.brbrWhen you're ready to turn in for the day or if it's raining, we have a big-screen TV and fast internet -- 121 Mbps down/33 Mbps up. An ideal place to work from home in a beautiful location or watch a football game with surround sound!brbrWe ask that guests sign a renter agreement and make a security deposit through Owner Rez.brbrNote that there is a slightly curved gravel driveway beyond the gate to get to the property, so we would recommend a 4WD or an AWD in the wintertime. There is also additional parking by the river at the bottom of the hill across the road, on the river front side of the property.
