Otherwise, eat at one of the fabulous restaurants downtown or just grab a pizza! When you arrive, beds are made with crisp, clean linens and fresh towels are stacked in the bathroom. (In the winter, each bed also has a big, fluffy comforter.) Just show up! My house fairies will be sure everything is neat and clean when you arrive and after you leave. No fuss. No stress. I want you to relax and enjoy!brbrThis spacious lakefront cottage has everything you need to create wonderful memories that will last a lifetime. With 3 floors of living space, there is plenty of room for everyone to have privacy, but then gather together for meals or to share stories of the day's adventures. Swim, kayak and fish right off the new dock in the deep, clear water. brbrThe large deck has an umbrella table and chairs and a Weber gas grill. Stairs off one side lead to a side yard with a shed that holds the yard and water toys, extra chairs, etc. The large fire pit is also on that side, with views of the lake. Stairs off the other side lead to the larger yard where you'll find the horseshoe pits, volley ball net and a wide path gently sloping down to the waterfront. There's a brand new dock and two kayaks - one double and one single - as well as a canoe. Paddles and life preservers are in the shed.brbrLake Pauline is peaceful and quiet, but Lake Rescue is directly behind us and allows power boats. The boat ramp is 1/2 mile down the road. The best of both worlds!!brbrIn the winter, ice skate, snowmobile (VAST trails) or snowshoe right from the front door. Okemo is 5 minutes (Jackson Gore is even less!), Killington is 25 minutes and Pico is about 30 minutes away. In the evening, gather for a meal, games or a movie. A large, see through fireplace adds warmth and charm to both living room and kitchen/dining room!brbrIn the fall, grab a blanket and a cup of coffee and head out to the Adirondack chairs to watch the mist rise off the lake and listen to the geese fly overhead. brbrThe main floor has a bedroom with double bed and a bedroom with a twin. The bathroom on this floor is very large and has a bath tub (there are also safety rails in this bathroom by tub and toilet, if you have guests who need some extra support).brbrUpstairs is the master bedroom suite with king bed and small full bath. A second bedroom has a queen bed and two twins. Both bedrooms have skylights and French balconies. brbrThe lower level suite has an additional living area and full bath. There is a couch, TV and stereo and a second room with a daybed with trundle and large game table. (Note: Since this area does not have proper egress, it cannot be used as a bedroom.)brbrButtermilk Falls is a popular swimming and picnic spot throughout the summer and fall. Deep, cool pools are at the base of each of 3 sets of falls, cascading down through the woods. They are only 2 miles away and can be reached by car or bike.brbrThe town of Ludlow has a variety of interesting shops, great restaurants and you can't beat the Jackson Gore Adventure Park when the kids need some excitement. Each bedroom is equipped with a smart TV, and there are board games suitable for all ages. brThe fully equipped kitchen is ready for a large group. It includes two full-sized sinks, two dishwashers, an additional beverage fridge, and two ovens. There’s a drip coffee maker and a tea kettle. The oven and toaster oven ave air fryer options. The dining table can be extended for larger groups. A large Weber grill is available on the back deck. brOff the dining room, there is a half bath with a full-sized washer and dryer. When you enter through the back or side door from the driveway, you’ll find a mudroom with boot and glove dryers and ski racks. The side yard features a patio, fire pit, and picnic table. brThe home is located in the village of Ludlow, right on Main Street. You can walk out the front door to enjoy all the nearby restaurants and shops. Out the back door, less than a block, you can get picked up by the free MOOVER shuttle that will take you up to the ski mountain during the winter months.brbrThere is plenty of parking!! The driveway can hold 6 cars and there is an additional paved area that can hold 5 more cars. brbrPlease note:brThis home was built in 1828 and fully renovated. However, fireplaces are permanently closed off and are not usable. Okemo Mountain Resort is a 5 minute drive, offers year-round activities like skiing, hiking, and mountain biking. They have great kids camps and adult mountain biking in the summer. Killington is a 30 minute drive-it's the BEAST for world-class skiing and summer activities. It is a dream mountain bike adventure. We strongly suggest at least one day on the hill in the summer. The lakes are within 15 minute drive. Pick the one you like the most and jump in! Golfing.....everywhere.brbrWoodstock is about a 30 minute drive. Great drive through Calvin Coolidge land ending Woodstock. Lovely restaurants, charming stores, and a great Co-op with some of the best take out and groceries around.brbrEnjoy a maple creamy at the end of the long day of hiking and playing. Or come back to the house and grill up some food and hang by the pool. It's magical anyway you put it together. Vermont and this home make for a pretty fantastic trip.
