We chose this house for the convenient location to skiing at Okemo, but everything about the house was just wonderful. The host, Bernie, called me a few days before our arrival just to introduce herself and make sure we had her contact info in case we had questions. The house itself couldn't have been more perfect for us: we have a couple, two separate adults and two kids, and there were ample sleeping options for everyone. The kitchen is fully appointed and the large living room with two-sided firelplace (the other side is in the kitchen/dining area) was so welcoming and comfortable. Easy to drive up and park, bring in groceries & ski equipment. A large table so everyone can eat together. New washing machines and everything clean and well kept. And the view! The house is on a small lake, covered in snow in January but that gave us the opportunity to watch a bald eagle alight on the ice to go fishing through a hole. It's a magical place and we are already looking forward to coming back next year. Thank you Bernie!

Very cozy. Kitchen was stacked with everything a family needed. Especially enjoyed the central two-sided fireplace. Usually the photos of the interior on vrbo website make the rooms look bigger than they are. Not with this property: I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of room we had in the common are (kitchen, dining, living room).

House is beautiful, super clean, even landscaping was lovely! Large deck with peaceful view perfect for meals, family games, reading and morning yoga. Enjoyed kayaks and paddle board on Lake Pauline! Enjoyed local restaurants notably Mojo and Big Pops and The Hatchery.

House was exactly as advertised. We have been visiting Lake Rescue for 20 years and we enjoyed having access to both Lake Pauline and Rescue. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook and grill at home and beds were comfortable. It was a hot week so we appreciated the fans given no AC. Homeowner was very responsive.

This was one of the best vacations we have experienced. We were 6 adults (Mom, Dad, adult children with friends, two senior pups). The house is beautiful and just as described in the listing. It is roomy and has all the conveniences needed. Most importantly, the dock is right there below the house. There are kayaks, a paddle board, a canoe, floating tubes. We spent part of practically every day on the water. The lake is serene and quiet and clean. We even fished a bit (licensed up - few keepers, but what fun!). The surrounding property is beautiful. We barbecued and dined on the huge deck, s'mores over the fire pit. Ludlow is close by and has some interesting shops. There is a nice farmer's market on Sunday mornings. Nearby Buttermilk Falls is beautiful - bring water shoes!We had a lovely, lovely time and hope to return.

We enjoyed our stay here for several days of skiing at Okemo. It is a 7 minute drive to Jackson Gore base, which has easy parking and is the location for ski school during the week, so it was super convenient. The lake is very scenic and the view is lovely even during the winter. The house is cozy and well-equipped, with plenty of towels, blankets, pillows, cookware, games, etc. Bernie was easy to communicate with.

House is perfectly stocked and very comfortable. Whether you are in VT to ski or sit by the fire with friends and family, you can’t go wrong with this home.

This lovely vintage cottage is very comfortable and has gorgeous views from inside the house as well as from the deck and the dock on the tranquil lake. We had a wonderful time enjoying the beautiful fall foliage! The cottage is well appointed and has everything you need including kitchen appliances, games, extra blankets, etc. The host is very helpful and prompt in all communications. We would love to come stay here again!

This is our second time staying here. We tried two other properties but the location of this one was hard to match. So we were back!

Great location. Owner offered great advice. Amenities, including lake stuff, was excellent. Only two minor cons: 1. basement has a musty odor. 2. 2nd floor BA accessible only through the Master BR door.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was cozy, well-appointed, and a good central location for visiting Manchester and Woodstock. We also enjoyed some of the local businesses in Ludlow. Would definitely go back!
