This light, bright and spacious house gives you a feeling of being on top of the world. The decor is simple but hopefully aesthetically pleasing. The 137+ hikeable acres are a wonder in all seasons. This is a true getaway. In the past few years, we have made our best efforts to be ecologically positive. The solar panels give back to the power utility about 95% of the usage, and hot water is heated via electricity instead of propane. There is a generator in case of a big storm outage. Parking is abundant. Each main room has its own heating/air conditioning split. There is a living room wood stove (and wood provided) for extra warmth in the winter. br You can find lots to do in the area, or just stay and enjoy the view. Mount Snow is 19 minutes away, traffic dependent. In the winter there's a great sledding hill and--if it's good and cold--a pond to slide on. Lake Whitingham, with multiple aquatic choices, is 15 minutes away. In summer, the pond is swimmable, and fun for frog-catching and using the blow-up raft. br If you like to cook, the kitchen is completely equipped. The house is set up so that there are private areas and public areas. You can have alone time, or congregate. There are 3 bathrooms, one on each floor. The game room has a ping pong table. It's the kind of house where you'll have a wonderful vacation whether you ski or you just kick back and enjoy the beauty of the place. New router for the wi-fi with speeds of 25-30/10-15 mbps.br Each bedroom is private. There's one with a king-size bed, and 2 bedrooms have queens. The children's room has two twin beds, toys, and books. Our house has 4 bedrooms, 1 1/2 bathrooms, 2 living rooms both with wood burning stoves, and sleeps 8 adults. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is seating for 8 at the dining room table (with 2 additional high top seats at the counter top bar). brbrOn the main level, you will find the kitchen, dining area, living room, a bathroom and 1 bedroom with a queen sized bed (no closet available, as its in use as a locked owner's closet). Downstairs, you will find a full bathroom (with a full bathtub, as well as a washer and dryer), another living room and 3 bedrooms - 2 with queen beds and 1 with a twin over double bunk bed. The top bunk is only available for guests under 100 lbs. brbrThe living room on the main level has a TV with cable, Netflix, a DVD player (with a selection of movies), and some board games. The downstairs living room has a TV with cable, Netflix, an Xbox and Nintendo Wii (with a selection of games). A big hit with kids of all ages!brbrThe Chimney Hill community clubhouse is available for our guests' use during their stay - you'll have access to both an indoor heated and outdoor heated pool (summer only), an indoor hot tub, fitness center, kids play room/game room, a movie room and a BYOB bar/kitchen. Near the outdoor pool is a children’s playground. Both the bedroom and living room have access to a spacious deck with plenty of seating and propane Weber grill.brbrThe wrap around steps take you upstairs to another Queen bed/Bedroom 2 and as well as a larger room/Bedroom 3 that has 1 Full and 3 twin beds, which is perfect for kids. In between there's access to another full bath.brbrAll rooms on the main level and upstairs have wall-mounted Roku TV's and in the summer Bedrooms 2 & 3 have portable air conditioning units. Our cabin offers a cozy living room with a pellet stove and sliding glass doors overlooking a private deck backing to forest. There's a work area with a desk for guests who need to work remotely while at the cabin. Guests enjoy access to Chimney Hill's Clubhouse (indoor pool, hot tub, outdoor heated pool, game room and fitness center), and a stocked fishing pond, ice skating rink, hiking and snowmobile trails.brbrOur cabin is located near the top of a mountain in the Chimney Hill area in Wilmington, Vermont. Chimney Hill is a unique family-centered community of private homes nestled on a wooded hillside bordered by the Green Mountain National Forest and surrounded by a four season recreational area. brbrOur Clubhouse is the social center of the community all year round, and it is about a half mile from our cabin. The clubhouse has an indoor pool and a hot tub, a heated outdoor pool during summer months, a game room with a pool table and arcade machines, a fitness room, and much more. Our renters have access to the Chimney Hill Clubhouse and all it offers. Also within the Chimney Hill community is a stocked fishing pond, outdoor ice skating rink and warming hut (skates available free of charge), hiking, snowshoeing, x-country and snowmobile trails with some homes having direct access to the Vermont Association of Snow Travelers (VAST) trail system.
