The residents are friendly and kind. Most are owners who live in the building. The laundry is located in the 1st floor and is shared amidst the units. It's FREE and located on the ground floor. You will need a key to access the laundry room.brbrThe building is fob entry only, so you will need to go downstairs to let people in/ collect door dash etc.brbrDue to the Embassy building's historic designation, we are limited with regard to smart locks and remote access. We are not permitted to install smart locks with keypads or lockboxes outside the building, so you will need to be comfortable with using a call box to get buzzed into the building by us, as well downloading and using an app to access the unit. brbrThese steps are only required for the initial check in. Once you have checked in, there will be a physical key and fob available for you. brbrAdditionally, as we need to be available to buzz you into the building on your initial arrival, please arrange to arrive at the building between 3pm and 8pm. brbrTrash & recycling are located on the ground floor outside the unit. brbrIn the event of a lockout please note we are only able to assist during business hours of 9am to 7pm.brbrIf you are locked out outside of business hours because you lost or left your keys inside you are financially responsible for finding lodging or getting back into the unit.

Vehicles can park at any metered space that is 1 hour or more for free and stay as long as you need. We have one space in front of our home with a dedicated disabled parking space and half a block away at 30th and Emerson are at least three other 1 hour parking spaces that are frequently available. If the restaurants are at maximum capacity you may need to park around the corner on Emerson or 31st Ave. There is always free street parking, you may just have to travel a block to get to it.brbrGreat Shopping-brMany people love taking the opportunity to shop in Portland as we have no sales tax. Alberta street boasts many lovely boutiques, art galleries, and eateries, and we're right down the street from the Alberta Rose Theater. We are also 10 minutes from the airport and Cascade Station, an outdoor mall with many big box stores such as Target, Ikea, Banana Republic, DSW and many more. Portland is also home to Nike, Adidas, Danner, and Columbia.brbrBook for slightly longer-brAs a result of having no sales tax, Portland has high short term occupancy taxes. Any booking you make of 30 days or less will be hit for the full STR tax amount so I recommend booking for 31 days even if you aren't intending to stay the entire time.
