Our lakehouse has wonderful views of Lake Nantahala and features a rustic mountain décor. We offer a large kitchen, dining room, two large fully-furnished family/rec rooms and 3 full+1 half bath. We can sleep 12 comfortably. We have Frontier DSL high speed internet and satellite [DirecTV] with streaming capabilities. Lower rec room has bar area, billiard room, and 2 bedrooms (perfect for the younger family members as it has 2 bedrooms and can sleep 6). The side of the house facing the lake has 2 large covered porches and a private dock. We also have an outdoor gas griddle available. Guests thoroughly enjoy our outdoor covered pavilion [16 x 22] which has awesome views with a beautiful stone wood-burning fireplace. This is a perfect place for gathering and entertaining and also is equipped with a SmartTV. Firewood is available during your stay for a nominal fee.brbrOur two kayaks, canoe, paddleboat, two stand-up paddleboards and 8-person 30 hp pontoon boat (included in rental during Summer season [typically Memorial Day through Labor Day] and is subject to lake levels and operational availability at time of rental) are available for guest use and enjoyment. By including a boat with our home you will save ~ $1900.00 in rental fees. Please inquire for details and availability. A NC boater card will be required before pontoon rental is approved. This can be completed easily online for a nominal fee. There is also a local marina that rents pontoon boats and ski boats...weekly discounted rates are available. Please note that the pontoon boat is intended for lake cruising only and not suitable for skiing or tubing.brbrThis is our family lake home, not a sterile rental unit. It is furnished and appointed like you would expect a home to be. The beds all have pillow top mattresses with quilted comforters. Kitchen includes plenty of dishes, cookware and utensils. Appliances: electric range, large refrigerator (plus second refrigerator downstairs), wine cooler, microwave, coffee pot and other small kitchen appliances.brbrOur home has a very gradual path of about 70 feet with wide safe steps from the dock to the basement level of the house which also lead to the covered pavillion. We do have central heat and air but because it is located at over 3000 foot of elevation you rarely need the air conditioning at night. brbrThe house is also equipped with a whole house Generac generator so there will be no interruption in power should a storm come through or power lines damaged due to fallen trees. This is an extra level of safety and security that we are happy to provide to our guests! There’s a local recycling and trash area off Junaluska going towards Aquone . There’s also one near the Nantahala school down towards Andrews. We have three cans make sure they’re secured by the logs or the straps.brbrEach season brings it's own unique character to this picturesque area. We are located on pristine Nantahala Lake, which is the second highest lake east of the Mississippi, and one of the cleanest man made lakes in the world. Rising 3000 feet above sea level, the Mountain topography produces mild temperatures in spring and summer. Fall follows with a spectacular display of Mother Nature’s colorful artistry - as the autumn leaves turn brilliant hues of orange, yellow, crimson and gold. Winter has its own allure – providing visitors with a secluded idyllic winter wonderland. brbrThe Dock House was custom designed to fit it’s surroundings and might be the closest home to Nantahala Lake. The deck is a mere 10 feet from the shore line which makes for an easy walk to the oversized dock. Also, nearly every room in the house has a view of the lake, including the master shower, hot tub area and the sauna. The tile and slate selected for the bath rooms enhances the feeling of warmth and serenity that the Nantahala area is known for. The Silestone counter tops and the gourmet kitchen make meal preparation a pleasure! We have spacious decks which are perfect for sunbathing, reading, relaxing and family outdoor gatherings. Our home is also equipped with a big screen TV and pool table. ! The unique 3 master bedroom plan makes it perfect for groups of couples or families alike. The loft has a King bed and a Queen over Queen bunk bed. brbrbrThe Dock House is truly a unique home. You can tell by looking at how the house blends in with the mountain side. The site was carefully selected for the optimum view and to harvest the magnificent red oaks which were milled into the extensive hardwood flooring and crafted into the beautiful hand rails in the foyer and loft. The post and beam interior was constructed from whole white oak posts and rough sawn white pine beams, which mostly came from the house site as well. The custom designed doors, kitchen cabinets and the one of a kind kitchen table were all hand made from an ancient black walnut tree that was blown down by a storm that passed through Andrews, NC in May of 2002. brbrbrThe Nantahala area has a lot to offer families who want to create wonderful memories! One queen bed is in the master and one full bed and queen are in the second bedroom. A fold away cot is also stored in the second bedroom closet. A full bathroom is located on the second level. An open concept den, dining area and kitchen are on the first level. The laundry room and half bath are off of kitchen on the first level. The lower level of the house is accessed through a separate entrance and contains a lounging area with satellite tv, half bath, kitchenette and loft sleeping area (twin bed).brbrWalk to the bottom of the driveway then across Wayah road to your private 20'x20’ dock, swim ladder and kayaks! The lake levels are controlled by Duke Power and begin dropping at the beginning of fall. The dock will eventually rest on the sandy surface in mid to late November. Unfortunately, residents of lake Nantahala have no control in this matter. You can still enjoy fishing off the dock and deploy kayaks for water fun and beautiful views.brbrRent a boat or jet ski at Lake’s End (1/2 mile drive) to explore the many coves and swimming areas. So grab a large river tube near the park entrance, we recommend the ones with a bottom on it, and float down the cool waters of Deep Creek past waterfalls and swimming areas. Deep Creek is a great place to picnic and spend the day relaxing. brbrOur home is over 3,000 square feet with 3 bedrooms. It comfortably sleeps 6 adults and 4 children. The cabin features a luxury rustic feel with a North Carolina bear theme. The main floor has a great room with a large stone wood-burning fireplace with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the Nantahala River. You can also enjoy your favorite shows and movies on Netflix on the 50 inch smart tv in the living room or on the 65 inch smart tv upstairs. Adjacent is the dining room area with a large live edge wood slab table with views of the river through glass sliding doors that lead to the deck. The bathroom has a unique stone jetted spa tub and a walk in river rock shower with multiple shower heads to give you the full spa experience. There is a log bunkbed in the master bedroom that sleeps two. brbrDown the hallway is a half bath located across from the laundry room with new large stackable washer/dryer and plenty of closet space. In the dining room area there are large sliding glass doors that leads to a spacious custom outdoor deck with a stone gas fireplace and wooden rocking chairs overlooking the river. Grill and chill on the outdoor deck next to the river with the propane grill and casual patio dinning table then enjoy s’mores at the outdoor fire pit steps from the river. brbrThe upper level has a large loft area with plenty of comfortable seating for playing boardgames or reading. Adjacent is an office area with river views from the large presidential style desk and a couple leather chairs for anyone needing to work remotely. Cell service can be limited at times but thanks to Starlink we are very happy with our WiFi calling via high speed internet. Working remotely and zoom calling have not been a problem. Down the hallway is a wet bar with a microwave, sink and beverage fridge. There are two large bedrooms upstairs with one bedroom having a large on suite bathroom with a walk in shower and the other bedroom has a half bath.
