This quaint cabin invites guests to enjoy a peaceful retreat with all the essentials close at hand. Make your holiday one for the books with a stay at our place.brbrThis is a tiny house style cabin that is approximately 550 ft.². The layout is combo living room/kitchen area with a futon and smart TV. The kitchen is fully equipped with microwave, stove, oven, full size fridge and dishwasher. There is a full size bathroom with a tub/shower combo. The bedroom is a separate room with a queen size bed. The other sleeping area is a loft with two single twin beds, a great sleeping area for kids. It is a low ceiling, so please know that sleeping area has to be accesses by a ladder and is good for kids and adults that have full mobility. There is also a fold out couch in the living area that will sleep one (or two small).brbrIf you bring a pet, please know that when you walk them, it is very important to pick up after them immediately once they do their business. Also, this is Dogs only, no cats.brbrYou have access to the whole cabin, deck space with private hot tub, two parking spaces, an outdoor space with a picnic table, fire pit, and charcoal grill (firewood, and charcoal are not provided). The river is right behind the cabin and the entire riverfront space is common ground for the community and you can walk freely up and down the entire riverfront. The community also has some large open fields that you can walk in. You can swim, fish, and tube in the river. There are several spots along the river to access it.brbrA 10 minute drive brings you to the entrance of the Linville Gorge wilderness, home to the breathtaking Wiseman view, also known as the Grand Canyon of North Carolina. Pop on the Blue Ridge Parkway, under 10 minutes from the cabin, for scenic overlook and numerous hiking trail trails. LinvilleFalls is only 10 minutes away with wonderful hiking trails, some taking you to the bottom of the gorge where you can explore and sit on a rock at the bottom of the magnificent falls. The beautiful Linville winery, a mile drive, offers outdoor seating and live music, or visit Linville Caverns, a short drive from the cabin. Guests of all ages will enjoy bank Creek barn, six minutes down the road with 80 acres of outdoor family, fun, including a tap room and trout fishing ponds. Be at Grandfather Mountain or Banner Elk in 30 minutes for mountain biking, skiing, snow, tubing, and ice-skating, at Sugar Mountain resort or white water rafting, ATV rentals, and the Wilderness Run Alpine Coaster adventure Park. Winter enthusiast will find Jonas Ridge snow tubing Park only 10 minutes away. Nanny's river cabin is located in the community of Linville Land Harbor. The cabin has 2 bedrooms, a loft, and 2 bathrooms (one is a basement bathroom). The two main floor bedrooms each have a queen bed and there is a large loft with two twin beds and a queen bed. The living room has a cozy cabin feel. There are televisions in the living room, master bedroom and the loft. There are cable boxes on the main floor TVs. The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, stove/oven, refrigerator/freezer, coffee maker, dishes, and cooking/eating utensils. We have a pack and play with mattress, side rail to add to any bed in the house, chair top high chair, and bath chair available for families traveling with little ones. Relax and take in the fresh mountain air on one of two decks. Sit on the back deck and observe nature with a view of the woods. It is the last house on a dead end road so there are no neighbors to one side. At the end of the road is the lake and the river. Peaceful and private. Birds, hummingbirds, squirrels, chipmunks, foxes, and rabbits are some of our most common visitors. There is a fire pit in the side yard. From the side yard, take a short trail through the woods to the river. There is a bridge that goes over the river to a beautiful area next to the lake with tent platforms, tree platforms, picnic tables, grills, and a fire pit. There are walking trails and amenities all throughout Land Harbor. You can visit the Land Harbor website to see all of the amenities. With an elevation of 3600 feet, the weather is great year-round. Summers are cooler and the winters are mild compared to other areas of the country. Linville Land Harbor offers a wide variety of amenities to make your stay enjoyable. Amenities include: golf course, Junior Olympic sized swimming pool, recreation center, hiking trails, lake, rivers, covered pavilion with grills, tent platforms and tree stands on the lake, playground, basketball court, children's pond, and more. You can feel safe while staying at Land Harbor with its own North Carolina Certified law enforcement agency which serves the community 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. brbrPlease note: The fireplace is currently not available for use but there is a fire pit in our yard and just on the other side of the river behind the cabin. It is recommended for a 4 wheel drive during times of snow/freeze. The pool allows 5 guests at a time. Fishing in the lake requires a permit that we call in prior to your stay and is a fee per day through Land Harbor. They have rules on what bait you may use. The river behind the cabin does not require a permit and there are other places in the area to fish as well.

Our log cabin is modern, warm and cozy, has a wrap around porch on the first floor with a hanging bed, lounge chairs and a BBQ grill + a second floor deck with porch swings and a table for two that makes you feel as if you are at eye-level with Grandfather Mountain! There are two Great Rooms with plenty of room for everyone to stretch out, enjoy the views, watch TV or find a quiet place to call your own. The upstairs Great Room has a trundle bed (two single beds) and a couch with two reclining sections. The kitchen has all the major appliances and dining areas that can seat up to 10 (if you like to bake, you need to factor in the elevation!). Each bedroom has its own private, full bathroom + there's a half bath close to the kitchen. Each floor has its own washer and drier.
