A great place to stay on the east side of the Linville Gorge that’s located in the best hiking in the state. We loved the cabin and it was just what we needed for our hiking and we plan on coming back.

The hosts were extremely welcoming and helpful. The cabin is adorable, comfortable, and well stocked. It was perfect for our trip to the Jonas Snow Tubing facility, which is just down the road.

The host was in communication with me the whole time. They had a lot of snow the weekend we went and offered to let us change our dates but we decided to go anyways. We got snowed in Saturday and didn’t make our snow tubing appointment cause we couldn’t get our car out of the driveway but the cabin was perfect for our group. Plenty of room and board and card games to play. We will definitely be back again a d are already planning our trip next year!

Great cozy mountain cabin! It was below freezing for most of the weekend, but the baseboard heaters kept the house at a consistent and comfortable temperature! There are lots of games and DVDs there if you need them. The host was very responsive to any questions we had. We will definitely book this one again!

Beautiful, and convenient location. This cabin feels cozy like home, with everything you may need. Was a quick few minutes by car to Jonas Ridge Snow Tubing Park, and a few minutes further to the Wilderness Run Alpine Coaster at Banner Elk.

The host was awesome and the cabin was just what we were looking for. We hiked trails until we were give out and the best ones were very close to the cabin. We hope to make it back in the spring and will stay here again if the cabin is available when we can come again!!!!

Hosts were responsive before our stay and gave us some suggestions to check out in the area. We did not contact the hosts during our stay because our issues were not anything that needed immediate attention. The location wasn’t bad. We knew we’d have to drive to where we wanted to go. Did not use the outdoor space as we were in different locations during our stay, but will note that we were told there was plenty of firewood around. I am assuming this means we would have to go hunt for our firewood, but upon walking around the property, everything was damp and there was no wood available. It is also noted that this is a no smoking facility, but on the back deck, there were cigarette butts laying on the railing. There is an overwhelming smell of must/mold that was a very hard to get used to. Our allergies were. Thankfully, we only use the cabin to sleep and shower in. When it comes to cleanliness, I would definitely hire a different cleaning crew. Dust buildup was very bad. Coffee pot was dirty and had to be cleaned. Food stuck on front as well. The refrigerator was also full of other people’s food/condiment/etc and not clean. The downstairs bathroom cabinet had used deodorant, etc. Because of these issues we went into town and bough our own paper products I did not choose to cook or use any of the pots, pans, plates, utensils in the cabin. We did sleep well and the shower had nice hot water pressure but would focus on cleanliness less clutter. Bathroom needs a fan.

We loved the beautiful area and hiking opportunities. The property was charming, but had issues. The beds were the cleanest of the home. The toaster oven was not clean. There were crumbs in the kitchen cabinets. There were cobwebs on the bedroom ceilings. There was a used toothbrush cup in the bathroom. There was a shower scrunchy with a long black hair in the shower. I emptied a dishwasher full of clean dishes before we used it and folded a dryer of clean laundry before using. I texted the host at 409pm 6/28/25 to inform that I folded the dryer laundry and left some clean kitchen items from the dishwasher on the kitchen counter. I did not know where some of the items went. I never heard back, and the text on my end was sent without issues. We left the night before checkout to check on an elderly relative. If you want to unplug, there is very slow internet service and we had no cell service. I texted from my iPad, and it was sent. Everyone we texted from our iPad received, so I feel like my message to the host was likely received. We followed all checkout instructions. We took our trash with us as instructed.

The location of this cabin is excellent—quiet, wooded, and close to some of the best hiking and mountain attractions in the area. The neighborhood is peaceful, and check-in was straightforward. The owners were communicative and tried to assist when problems came up.However, the cabin itself was a disappointment. While the beds were made and linens were clean, the overall cleanliness of the cabin was poor. There was dust and cobwebs on walls, light fixtures, shelves, and other surfaces throughout the cabin. The kitchen dishes were dusty and several bowls contained dead bugs. Every dish, pot, pan, and utensil had to be washed before use. Additionally, the outdoor deck was dirty and covered in debris, and there were cigarette butts left in ashtrays on the deck and scattered around the yard. The gas fireplace did not work during our stay. The owners responded quickly and attempted to help us troubleshoot the issue, but it turned out to be a problem that only the gas company could fix. Unfortunately, that meant no working fireplace for the duration of our trip, which was disappointing given the cool weather. All that said, this cabin has potential, but the state of cleanliness detracted from our experience.

This was our third trip to this cabin, and it did not disappoint. We like the wide open spaces for our family to gather together inside or outside. The hosts are always quick to respond if we need to reach them for any reason. We usually go in the early spring, but I am glad we waited a little longer this year to allow the flowers and trees to bloom, because it is a beautiful area.
