Tent is tucked away at the end of a dead-end road on the 1,5 acres of private land. Only one other cabin is located on the same shared road. You can see the log cabin from the site however in summer months it is barely visible due to foliage.brSite is only few minutes away from Blue Ridge Parkway. We recommend to take a drive and stop for breathtaking views and hike the Waterrock Knob Trail for a fantastic view. Maggie Valley (15 min away) - a charming little town has many spots to visit for ice cream, crafts, gems, souvenirs and local restaurants. Entrance to Great Smoky Mountains National Park is only 25 minutes away pass the Oconaluftee Visitor Center. Serenity Mountain Retreat is a great location for skiers, the mountain adventurer, destination weddings and retreats.brbrLocated within a 18 minute drive are the historic Downtown Waynesville, scenic Blue Ridge Parkway, Great Smoky Mountain National Park, Cataloochee Ski Area ((known for being one of the first ski resorts in the US to open each year), Ingles and Publix Grocery Stores, Walmart, and many great restaurants, local micro-breweries, craft shops, and boutiques. A list of our family favorites will be provided at the cabin. brbrWithin 35 minutes are Asheville and the Biltmore Estate & Winery (America's largest and most visited privately-owned home), many great restaurants and micro-breweries in Ashville and Cherokee, Harrah`s Casino, Pisgah National Forest, more golf courses, Bryson City (home of the Great Smoky Mountain Railway and “Polar Express” during the Christmas Holiday), Transylvania County (home of the most waterfalls in the United States), and hundreds of antique shops.brbrWithin a 45-minute drive you can visit Sierra Nevada Brewery (with an enormous dining Tap Room), gem mining, white water rafting, zip-lining and multiple charming towns and the Ashville Airport. brbrJust over an hour away are Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee (home of Dollywood a wonderful family theme park with great music).brbrGuest AccessbrThe drive up the mountain is all paved with moderate inclines and turns into the cement driveway which then becomes gravel. It is accessible also by travel van, but just ask the host for additional instructions to make it easier for you. For winter access, if it's snowing it is suggested that you have at least one 4 wheel or all wheel drive vehicle and all other vehicles can be parked on our private road below the cabin. In deep winter it is recommended that you frequently check the internet to stay informed of the weather and travel conditions. On rare occasions if there is a big snowstorm or ice conditions tire chains could be recommended, or arrive before or wait until after those conditions melt off before proceeding onto the roadways. The ability to get to and from the property is the responsibility of the guest and is not provided by the homeowner.brbrOther things to notebrOur other family cabin is down the mountain just 5 minutes with a more level access and covered parking. We made it larger than Serenity now that our family has expanded so 4 Loves Lodge main cabin is a 5 bed, 5 ½ bath log home that sleeps 22, with a separate efficiency that sleeps 2. brbrIf you have trailers, motorcycles, or extra-large vehicles or RV’s 4 Loves Lodge is a better alternative as it is lower, has covered parking and a very easy access off the main road. brbrMust be a minimum of 25 years old to rent Serenity Mountain Retreat. This cabin is smoke free. No parties above the guest limit. NO PETS ALLOWED

At a cool elevation of 4,000 feet, A/C is typically not needed even during the middle of summer. However, our cabin is equipped with both central A/C and heat. We offer a Weber gas grill (with all of the grilling utensils) on the deck if you would like to cook outside while relaxing to the soothing sounds of the creek. Gather your family and friends around the fire-pit and relax on those cool mountain evenings. The downstairs offers plenty of seating for gathering by the wood burning fire or snuggling up on the couch to watch a movie on the 55 inch flat screen TV. This cabin offers DIRECTV satellite with DVR in the family room. Both master bedrooms are equipped with DIRECTV. WiFi is available at our cabin and included. Guests have access to the very large covered carport that can be used for family reunions, weddings, and other large gatherings. brbrThe Property:brbrOur Cabin is located at the end of our road. As a matter of fact, we are the ONLY cabin on our road. This means you have lots of privacy and tons of space to enjoy all to yourself. Despite being nestled in the Plott Balsam mountains at 4,000 feet, there is plenty of level ground to explore. You have access to over 700 feet of creek frontage! That's a lot of cold water splashing, crayfish hunting, cooling off in the creek, fun! There are lots of roads and trails to hike, the only thing you will find behind our property is lush forests and the Blue Ridge Parkway. There are a couple of very pretty waterfalls that you can hike to right off of the property. There is also ample parking. Pets are considered. (main road running thru town). brbrWe have 6 - 400 sq/ft Tiny Cabins, and 5 - Luxury Yurts that are permitted as Single Family Homes...they all enjoy the comforts of home. The property sits on almost 8 acres, and there are 2 shallow fish ponds (no fishing) with frequent visits by our duck and geese families. The Elk trail runs thru the property, and if you're lucky...then you will get to see these majestic animals from a safe distance inside, or on the deck of your Yurt/ Cabin!brbrAll Cabins and Yurts have their own HVAC.brbrAll Cabins and Yurts have their own high speed internet/ Wi-Fi and cable TV...just in case you need to plug in while you're visiting. Smart TV's as well...brbrAll Cabins/ Yurts have an electric fireplace for those chilly, but almost perfect mountain nights.brbrAll Cabins and Yurts are fully stocked with plates, cups, utensils, pots and pans, linens, towels, etc.brbrAll Cabins and Yurts have their own coffee pot, toaster, and can opener.brbrAll Cabins and Yurts come with a standard set-up of toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, soap, etc. Those staying longer will need to supplement this.brbrAll Cabins with the exception of Wild Turkey (#10), have a generous loft space with additional bedding (4 ft ceilings, so best suited for children).brbrAll Cabins and Yurts have 1-2 parking spaces, with overflow parking nearby brbrPicnic tables and Park Grills around the property,brbrFire pit by the pond on the cabin side,brbrCentral Pavilion with a Stone Fireplace near the pond in Yurt Village (Hang Out).
